My Jesus, I believe that you are present in this Holy Sacrament of the altar. I love you above all things and I passionately desire to receive you into my soul. PRAYERS FOR THE SICK

Please continue to pray for all our sick, all those suffering with COVID-19 and, of course, all those who are caring for them. Lord, have mercy.

CHURCH OPENING FOR PUBLIC MASS; PHASE 2

Due to the restrictions on numbers and the need for social

distancing, when we return to Church for public worship,

things will be quite different. We won’t be able to keep to

our normal Mass timetable and will be working from a

new one altogether . We will continue to stream a Mass

for those who can’t attend or are still shielding.

We aim to work in such a way that we maximise the

capacity of our Church buildings. For example, some

pews/churches are easier to manage for larger family

groups/households, others are more suited to seating

single people/couples and to maintain a safe distance. The

Sacred Heart Church will remain closed for public worship

for the time being - but it will remain the only church

opened for private prayer with the help of our stewarding

teams on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 4-6pm.

Please contact the Fareham Parish Office it you wish to be

‘invited’ to attend a public Mass. We need to know your

name, email/telephone number, number in your

household and your availability. There is a form and letter

that has been sent out and also on Facebook.

Only when you receive an email/telephone call, will you

be ‘invited’ to attend a Mass. If you don’t have an

invitation, please do not turn up at Church for Mass, as the

stewarding team will not be able to allow you to enter or

to seat you. When ‘invited’, your name will appear on an

attendance list for that particular Mass on that day in

order for our stewards to mark you off as you come in,

and to enable them to show you to your safely allocated

pew/seat.

This may mean that you may be asked to attend a Mass

during the week, rather than on a Sunday (if you are free

to do so in the week), so that we can get as many people

back to Mass as possible.

GOING INTO HOSPITAL

On you admission please make certain that you or a relative asks the staff to ensure that your Catholic faith is recorded, for the Chaplaincy to visit you.

Also, you may be asked to attend a Mass in a Church that

is not your ‘normal’ place of worship for the time being.

These are extraordinary & stressful times, and our aim is

to accommodate the maximum number of parishioners

that it is safe for us to host.

We will endeavour to make the rotation of this invitation

to Mass as fair and equal as we can. You only need to

register once and we will rotate the database after that to

include you, unless you tell us otherwise (for example, if

your availability changes). We have thought long and hard

about this and we think this is a fairer system than ‘first

come; first served’ and also enables us to plan ahead and

occupy every possible seat that we can safely use in our

Church buildings.

I want to thank in advance those involved with the

opening, especially those who will be helping administer

the paperwork and planning (a huge task). I would like to

thank all those who have volunteered and been trained to

act as stewards. We have two great parish communities

who are pulling together to help each other, and I am very

grateful for your continued support and encouragement.

Please be patient with us. Please bear with each other,

please bear with our administration team, please bear

with our stewards and God willing, we’ll see you very soon

for the celebration of the Lord’s Eucharist.
