Stepping Stones Therapy Services is pleased to offer our largest range of group therapy programs to date, to help bridge the gap between school terms and provide kids the boost that they may need in preparation for the 2018 school year. Groups are run by qualified Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Dance Instructors. Families need to book for the duration of the group (i.e. not day-day), to ensure that there are enough children each day to make the groups worthwhile. Whilst for most groups, it is preferred that siblings do NOT attend these groups, our ‘Bringing Back the Ballroom’ group welcomes siblings, and they can attend for free if they are of the age/maturity to follow instructions well. If not bringing siblings is a concern, please give the office a call to discuss other options. Please see enclosed our Group Program calendar and full details about the range of groups that will be available. Thanks, Stepping Stones team

By completing this program children will learn:

That life does occasionally lead to ‘bumps’ that aren’t enjoyable That we can all experience different ‘bumps’ – and some are bigger than others That we have TOOLS that can help us get past these ‘bumps’, including:

Literacy Leaders phonics spelling group program Stepping Stones Therapy Services is pleased to be offering literacy groups over the January school holidays, that will utilise the Sounds-Write approach to spelling development. Sounds-Write is a phonics based approach, which teaches three essential skills, segmenting, blending and phoneme manipulation. It is considered a ‘gold standard’ literacy program by the Dyslexia-SPELD foundation in Perth.

This program is open to any age and we will try to group kids together, with other children at a similar level. This group will be a great way to help boost their skills (e.g. segmenting or blending) and spelling pattern knowledge before school returns, by using an evidence-based structured program. The group also aims to provide parents with some practical ideas for how they can assist literacy development over the course of the school year.
