Our Memory Care program offers quality, person-centered services in a beautiful, homelike setting. This gives our residents the ability to remain in a familiar environment with familiar faces. We are also pleased about being able to provide assistance to those transitioning into Augustana Regent from outside our facility. Two memory care suites are available, numbered 108 and 208. Combined, these suites will accommodate up to 10 residents, including some in need of medical assistance. Each unit is staffed with a Home Health Aide, an activity specialist, and oversight from a Registered Nurse, 24 hours a day. This secure and intimate setting allows our residents to receive a positive and individualized care experience. Guided by Augustana’s Emerald Crest model, the Regent’s Memory Care program employs a structured daily schedule. Each resident’s cognitive skill level is evaluated so that staff can help a resident maintain as much independence as possible. For more information about the Regent’s Memory Care Suites and availability, please contact Janet Marxen at 952-898-8722.

Halloween

Halloween brought out the kid in us! We enjoyed seeing the

kids in their costumes for trick-or-treat

event, but did our own dressing up for the Halloween party.

Happy New Year! As we reflect on all the blessings of 2011, the Augustana Regent wants to let you know how much we appreciate your involvement with Augustana Care. We have been fortunate to receive generous philanthropic support this past year. In 2011, more than $630,000 was donated to Augustana Care. These gifts, large and small, made an enormous

difference to our ability to pursue our mission of fostering fullness of life for older adults at the Regent as well as the other communities we serve. As in past years, we received a number of memorial and tribute gifts, as well as generous bequests and estate gifts that speak volumes about our donors’ commitment to our mission. In fiscal year 2011, we also received more than $50,000 in grants that helped to enhance quality of life for our residents through programs and services. Thanks to the generosity of our auxiliaries and volunteers, we received donations at many of our campuses, allowing them to purchase items such as new dining room sound systems, furniture, and resident holiday gifts. Our employees were generous last year too, donating nearly $125,000 in support of events, our employee giving program, and spiritual care expansion. These are some of the ways that the spirit of giving has benefited the Augustana Regent and our other campuses throughout 2011. Thank you for being part of Augustana Care and for your commitment to fostering fullness of life for older adults! If you have any questions about fundraising at Augustana Care, please contact Annette Rodriguez, gift officer, at 612.238.5213.

Regent Residents Give Back

Residents at the Augustana Regent are working

hard to make a difference in their community. The

Quilting Club crafted and donated 15 handmade

quilts to the Augustana Regent, Augustana Apple

Valley Nursing Home and Ebenezer Ridges Nursing Home. The

quilters hope to provide warmth of both heart and body to the people

who receive the blankets. Another group of residents are clipping

coupons weekly to send to servicemen abroad. At the time of this

publication, more than $5,831 in coupons have been sent to our

adopted U.S. Navy base in Yokohma, Japan.

Augustana Care Corporation Mission Statement

Our mission is to serve God by fostering fullness of life for older adults and other people in need through the provision of health care, housing and other services

in a Christian environment.
