as such, people whose faiths are weak and flimsy would convert from one religion to another, consequently causing sedition and subversion or rather deviation of faith. Some have tried to mete out a way intermediate between the different faiths and their Sharias in accordance with this Western concept of freedom, eventually inducing twisted understandings and misinterpretations of the scriptures of religion and their judgements.

Freedom of Belief in Islam By

Abstract In modern time, people have become infatuated by the concept of freedom, with freedom of belief as foremost amongst the different manifestations of this concept. According to freedom of belief, it is assumed that man may freely adopt any belief or dogma as he wills to no liability or accountability thereafter. The notion of freedom of belief has been deeply rooted in Western ideology on purely philosophical grounds, namely the relativity of reality. According to this maxim of relativity of reality, no one owns the utter truth about anything. Consequently, religion should be separated from the systems of a modern stated which is secularist in attitude. In this view, a secularist state must have a social system in whose light law and legislature should be based without any interventions from the ecclesiastic authority save some minor issues that do not interfere whatsoever with the system of the state. This view of the secularist state cannot be touched nor breached, and it goes with no disagreement or argument. If disagreement with this frame of a secularist state would ensues, then severe penalties would go for those who adopt such a contrary view, the least of which is to brand them extremists, fundamentalists, or even terrorists. In this view too, religious beliefs have become personal issues, the truth about it is unarguably relative, while the state ought not to interfere with them. Anyone can adopt any belief as long as this will not imperil public order or jeopardize the freedom of others. The West has marketed this concept and imposed it on the world by hook or by crook. The impact has gone further that no constitution of any state in the Muslim world but influenced by the concept of freedom of belief. Advocates of this trend call for it in public or in secret, given that it recognizes all dogmas and beliefs indifferently. The case being
