According by our vision and mission of CMI to support the advancement of education through increased access and

utility Information Technology, then CMI has successfully developing and distributing product and ICT services to

every school. That product and ICT services including the following :

A. SMART SERVERTM

Indonesian smart server is really fit to be owned by educational institution throughout Indonesia. The Reason is,

this type of server has reliable features that have been sought by them.

Smart Server has server service in general (proxy, mail, web, samba, ftp, and dns).

Smart Server can be used as server hosting.

Smart Server has been already contained additional applications such as online shop, school website,

student‟s blog , video server for learning, radio streaming, Learning Management System, dan wiki media

server.

Smart Server facilitates windows and linux-base applications; so that school has discreation in deciding which

applications will be installed in all schools.

Smart Server serves as “Document Collaboration”, and with this function school has media collaboration for

documenting knowledge.

WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH A SMART SERVER

Enriching learning by placing videos that related to curriculum for learning enrichment. Thus the teachers

are able to include video learning in face to face meetings in classes. In addition, teacher can be more

creative for preparing curriculum by adding elements of enrichment that is integrated in program plan of

study.

The school can invite educators to write down many ideas on a blog that is provided by school. So the

expectation is, the educators have been adequate media and requiring no additional cost.

School can be a hosting server for all the kind of web-base application that is desired by school. Without

Smart Server, if it wants to install web-base applications beside the school website it will be hard to set it

up. With Smart Server everything can be done quickly and easily because this application in smart server

is user friendly. Even it is desired, the school can facilitate around it that does not yet have its own server

to store the applications on the server hosting.

School is able to has broadcast radio streaming which can be managed by school through intra-school

students organization and it‟s transmitted by internet so that it can be heard in a very wide range of it.

School can facilitate their students by providing the media by their self-expression through a radio

broadcast via internet.

School is able to have an online shop which is stored in a Smart Server. This application is available on

the server and can be customed by school. The students‟ creation is able to be marketed in this online

shop so that besides being known all over the world it will be also making money on works that interested

people.


School has a gate to build a free encyclopedia in school environment. Smart Server provides this server in

order to accommodate the school media to collect knowledge which is had educational power in online

place.

Smart Server also comes with Learning Management system that manages the integrated media

communication and collaboration among the school area. Learning Management System is also equipped

with a database (Digital Bank Exam, Digital Dictionary, Digital Library, and other Training Resources).

WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SMART SERVER WITH USUAL SCHOOL SERVER?

During this time, the school server is only functionalized not much different than a usual computer. The admin

school itself also does not understand that a lot of potential which can be extracted from school server. This

B. SMS-GATEWAY School Service

SMS-Gateway service is a facility on which is built by school and allowing students and parents to access

database via sms.

School database is an administration data (teachers‟ data, students‟ data, attendance, academic‟s data, and

so on) which is stored in computer media using DBMS concept. School database is managed by a computer

program, where is for junior and senior high schooland it usually uses school application package (PAS) which

is distribute by each directorate.

In order to the data which is stored in school database, and it can be accessed by sms service it is needed an

application that accepted connection request by sms and also sending them the result by sms. This

connecting application has been been developed by PT. CMI and named WebSMS. The goal is to help school

improving their education service particularly, information services for parents that related to academic

administration. This WebSMS application, we make a packet for school and SMS-Gateway Service.

Maintaining process is done in two sides. The one is school; all of the responsibility is ful-done by school. Such

as, database school development, information content development which is being through in SMS-Gateway

and etc. in other side PT. CMI is being responsible in all of the datas which is saved in server CMI.

Connecting program application between PAS server with an sms named WebSMS will develop continuously by

CMI. If there is a development from the application will be communicated with school community which has

been cooperated with PT. CMI. School will be received a new update version from WebSMS freely by CMI.

Auto Responding which can give the attendance information, the payment information to the students is

in accordance with the incoming sms request..
