of real challenges faced by the manufacturing industry. Transport Management System was a web-based application with a controlled set of users having different authorizations. The

automation of its logistics operations was through a tighter coupling with the already-deployed SAP ERP backbone and added facilities such as sending SMSs to transporters to send trucks including transporter freight contract management & road permit management indents. These enablers handled more than 300 trucks a day and the facile task of controlling of whereabouts

Results: This project resulted in a reduction of the total transaction processing time from 30 to 8 minutes per truck load,

errors related to communication eliminated because of standardization of processes Statistical Accolades

- Eliminated order processing related errors from 4 in a week to 0 in a week- Witnessed a reduction from 12 to 7.5 hours in Truck turnaround time (gate in to gate out)
