    Career College

The Career College is a new concept in educa on, preparing young people aged 14-19 for the world of work. It oers prac cal training and educa on designed by industry, with direct input from employers. It diers from our regular College by being a College within a College.

The Career College includes both voca onal and academic learning, combined with employer-led educa on and entrepreneurial skills. Progression opportuni es include employment, appren ceships and higher educa on.

    What is the Career College?

The two pathways in our 14-16 College that are endorsed by the Career College mark are Hospitality and Catering (see page 24) and The Visitor Economy (see page 26).

Our Career College specialises in Hospitality and The Visitor Economy because they are a growth area for the Liverpool City Region and as a college, we have excellent links with employers in these industries.

Why are some of yourpathways part of the Career College and others arent?

All our pathways aim to get our students work ready, but in these two areas we have outstanding links with industry, so we ensure that our learners meet employers on a regular basis and get hands on work experience. The curriculum in these two areas is also informed by discussions we have with our employer contacts.
