ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN PHYSICIANS IN THE AMERICAS (ANPA)

Who Should Attend: The activity is designed for physicians, dentists, physician extenders, registered nurses, and health care professionals in all specialties and with an interest in health disparities.

Objectives: 1. Understand comparative healthcare issues of resource-poor and resource-rich countries and communities. 2. Understand the differences in individual healthcare needs of the poor and the rich 3. Identify the causes of health care differences between rural and urban communities. 4. Understand the impact of access to care on health outcomes 5. Gain insight into the role of good healthcare policies in eliminating disparities.

Format: Live didactic lectures, panel discussions and faculty/audience question & answer sessions.

Sponsor Accreditation: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the essentials and policies of the accreditation council for continuing medical education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Howard University College of Medicine, Office of Conitinuing Medical Education, and The Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas. The Office of Continuing Medical Education, Howard University College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
