INTRODUCTION

Planning training of Ukrainian medical and non-medical specialists are

based on the Agreement for executive agent between Government of Republic

of Bulgaria and the NATO Maintenance Agency (NSPA) about NATO Trust

Fund in Ukraine, the Agreement on financial management between countries

with contribution and NATO Office for financial control on the Trust Fund of

NATO in Ukraine for medical rehabilitation program and on the basis of

bilateral arrangements.

Professional training is direction B of specific activities under the Fund

and includes the provision of additional training of therapists, psychologists,

surgeons and others in modern methods of treatment of patients with combat

trauma. Necessary funding of activities is estimated at € 75,000, which includes

conferences, seminars or short courses (2 weeks) for medical professionals on

the territory of Ukraine or abroad.

is carried out during further treatment and rehabilitation of

Ukrainian troops in 2 (two) weeks period, in prepared in

advance programs.

traumatic peripheral nerve diseases

TOPICS

Anatomo-physiological characteristics of the musculoskeletal system. Key symptoms of

diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Clinical and physiological prerequisites for the

application of physical factors - preformed and natural - in diseases of the

musculoskeletal system. Contraindications.

Physical therapy and rehabilitation in traumatic lesions of the musculoskeletal system -

injuries, wounds, sprains, dislocations, fractures of the upper limb

Physical therapy and rehabilitation in traumatic lesions of the musculoskeletal system -

fractures of the lower limb and spine

Anatomical and physiological data for peripheral nervous system. Physiotherapy and

rehabilitation in inflammatory and dystrophic diseases of the peripheral nervous system.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation trauma of the peripheral nervous system.

In order to build capacity for rehabilitation in Ukraine (Division B) CPHP can

organize two-week training course for Ukrainian psychologists related to the prevention,

diagnosis and management of stress symptoms:

TOPICS:

Model to provide psychological care in disaster situations incl. military activities

Stress in critical incidents - essence, manifestations and diagnosis.

Psychological diagnostic methods of stress symptoms.

Professional stress and burn out.

Psychological debriefing – methodology and practice.

PTSD - evolution of the syndrome, diagnostic criteria, diagnosis and treatment.

Crisis intervention - individual, group and organizational level.

CLINICAL EVALUATION OF MENTAL STATE OF

UKRAINIAN MILITARY PERSONNEL AND

PSYCHOLOGISTS

Group of soldiers to be accompanied by two psychiatrists and two

military psychologists. Military personnel to be screened for

psychopathological symptoms and if any to receive adequate clinical

assessment and to be offered an appropriate algorithm for the treatment

and prevention of complications. Psychiatrists and psychologists will be

trained according to modern standards of psychiatric and psychological

assistance of NATO and allied armies. Courses to be for a week

focusing on clinical assessment of conditions caused by combat stress

and its complications and about the role of psychological teams in the

joint tackling and preventing crises.

Posttraumatic stress - nature of symptoms and diagnostics.

Methods of dealing with stress and mental disorders occurring with natural

disasters and industrial accidents.

Burnout syndrome and consequences of occupational stress - management

methodology.

The courses will include an initial theoretical and practical part.

during one rotation is as follows:

Three therapists (medical staff)

Training of Ukrainian medical and non-medical specialists

is carried out in BDRLP - Hissar and the relevant structures

of MMA – Sofia Hospital.

Trained Ukrainian medical and non-medical specialists are

issued a certificate according to the approved rules of

scientific and educational activities of MMA.
