Wings and LiftBernoulli’s principle explains the ability of birds and airplanes to fly.

• Air traveling over the top of an airplane wing moves faster than the air passing underneath. This gives it a low pressure above. Air moves slower underneath the wing giving it a high pressure.

• The pressure difference between the top and the bottom of the wing creates an upward force known as lift.
