For our visitors to our building:

The safety, health, and well-being of AMS South students, staff, volunteers, and visitors is a top priority.

For more details on the Avon Community School Corporation’s safety

procedures please visit our webpage or by following this link

https://www.avon-schools.org/Page/6585

Entering the Building

Anyone entering our building beyond the front office will need to have a valid photo ID with them so that they

can be checked in through our Safe Visitor Solutions system. You will be given a badge to wear while in the

building so that you are identified as a visitor. When leaving you will return to the front office so that

we can check you out of Safe Visitor Solutions and take your badge.

Early Dismissal

When a student needs to leave school early for an appointment, if someone other than a

parent or guardian will be picking up your student, please include his/her name

on the note or email ([email protected]).

Once we verify their photo ID then the student can sign out and leave.

For more attendance information please see Absence Procedures later in this newsletter.

Visiting Students during Lunch

If you would like to have lunch with your student we will follow the same procedures for

entering our building. If you would like someone other than a parent or guardian to have lunch with your

student we will need that information in writing, either with a note from a parent/guardian turned into the

front office before school or an email ([email protected]).

Please include the person(s) name that will be visiting, we will then follow the Entering the Building

procedure and check them into Safe Visitor Solutions.

again, after their child has acquired eight (8) absences excused or unexcused. The importance of good

school attendance will be stressed.

school [email protected] with all the necessary information: Student name, reason for the

early dismissal, and the time the student needs to leave school. If someone other than a parent or guardi-

an will be picking up your student, please include his or her name on the note or email. Once we verify

their photo ID then the student can sign out and leave.
