How can the 1300 hotline work for you?

Maddie owns a free range pig farm and is looking to buy a new Nissan Patrol to help move stock and equipment around the farm – and

to do it in style! She has negotiated a significant discount with her car salesman, but needs to complete the purchase quickly. However, she doesn’t know whether to buy this herself or through her business. Maddie calls 1300 hotline. The hotline team take Maddie’s query and forward it to a consulting firm who specialise in asset finance. Within the guaranteed 24 hour timeframe, Maddie receives a call from an expert and within the 10 minute call, they explain what she needs to do to proceed with the purchase.

Karenhas a printing business and had an employee resign about 3 months ago. Over the last few weeks 3 of Karen’s major clients have left and

are now working with the ex-employee. Karen calls 1300 hotline. The 1300 hotline team contact a HR consulting firm. A HR consultant calls Karen and helps her interpret the employment contract the ex-employee had signed. Unfortunately, there is nothing to stop the ex-employee from undercutting Karen and taking her clients. The HR consultant offers to work with Karen to design an employment contact that will ensure Karen is covered in the future.

Sam is an employee of a mechanic in town. He bought a house 5 years ago and is considering a review of his current mortgage and re-financing

Craig Badcock has built 2 accounting practices. The first when he was 27 and the second nearly 14 years ago. He operates his

current practice in Tasmania as a sole practitioner with a team of 16.

He has worked as an advisor to small business owners with a particular emphasis on consultingin relation to strategic planning, marketing, systems, and people management over the past 14 years.

Craig has experience as an owner of retail and rural businesses, plus commercial property and land subdivision experience.

He has a keen interest in how technology can benefit his practice and its clients, and has been an early adopter of new technology. His current practice has developed a strong focus on designing and implementing “modern business”accounting and administration systems for clients.

Craig, together with his wife Deb, who is also a Chartered Accountant have 5 children aged from 5 to 18. He is a poor but enthusiastic cyclist in his spare time.

Craig is now devoting considerable time to 1300hotline in an endeavour to help many more small business owners than could ever be achieved through his own practice.
