The decision comes after allegations that Sekhukhune District Municipality owes R16 Million to Dr JS Moroka Local Munici- pality for the supply of water. During the meeting, managers from Sekhukhune District Municipality acknowledged that they have received a two weeks notice letter indicat- ing that Dr JS Moroka is intending to shut down the water supply for Moutse as the district municipality fails to pay for its water supply. “Fortunately the Executive Mayor was very co-operative. The matter was not reported to his office and he was not aware.,” said Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Councillor Ali ka Maloba. He said after realising that the fault is not on the Sekhukhune District side, he went to the reservoir at Moteti accompanied by some of the Moutse Business Forum members where they discovered that some of the valves supplying Moutse with water were already closed. The Limpopo Department of Health recalledPhiladelphia Hospital's CEO Mr. FS Mosimegestarting from Friday 6 March. According tosources inside the hospital, Mosimege is nowdeployed at the Department of Health offices inthe Waterberg District Municipality. It is notclear at this stage that Mosimege will be hold-ing a senior post in the district offices. It isalleged that Mosimege was removed due tomaladministration and underperformance bythe Health Department. Recently, the Ministerof Health Dr Aaron Motsaoledi said they havedone an analysis to look at the suitability of thehospitals' CEOs and they realised that CEOswith no health background were struggling torun the hospitals. He said the current situationwas that these positions were either occupiedby people who do not have health backgroundor are at lower levels. He said the departmenthave people at level 8 (clerk) who are hospitalCEOs. Mosimege was replaced by EliasMtshweni as acting CEO of Philadelphia Hos-pital. "He was misleading the hospital andfailed to address workers issues to the provin-cial office. He did clearly not deserve the posi-tion at all," said one of the employees who don’twant to be named. He said the departmentbecame aware of Mosimege'sunderperformance after some employees per-sonally addressed their issues to the provincialoffices. He added that they also reported themaladministration of the senior official in theprovince. "He was not capable for the job. Heled to many protests since he took over as CEOin the hospital a few years ago. Some employ-ees, especially union leaders, were suspendedfor nothing by the former CEO," he added.He said decision to recall the CEO from office issupporting a process to improve service deliv-ery. A Senior Mechanical Manager and other work-ers in the mechanical department at EphraimMogale Local Municipality have allegedly de-frauded the municipality by purchasing dieseland petrol using the municipality’s fuel allow-ance card. According to a source who wishesto remain anonymous, this was discovered in avideo footage taken at Obaro Fuel Station inMarble Hall Town. He says the footage showsthe Senior Mechanical Manager filling a largenumber of empty containers with diesel andpetrol and loading them in the municipalitybakkie. The video footage is said to be recordedat Obaro in July last year. "The investigationwas done by the municipality officials at ObaroFuel Station after the records shown that theofficial used his petrol allowance card at the fuelstation to purchase petrol and diesel amount-ing to thousands of rands. The municipalitybecame aware after the senior managers’ fuelallowance bill was always high since he wasappointed in the position," he said. Five male suspects named Bongani Simelane (24), Mandla Dlamini (34), Xabangani Mhlanga (29),Jomo Ndlovu (34) and Elias Maroga (32) were arrested by the Dennilton SAPS for armed robbery.“The five were arrested by the police after searching for them in connection with the armed robberythey committed at Bakwena Supermarket in Marapong Village, Dennilton. They committed thecrime on Tuesday 10 February. The police searched for them for more than a week until they werearrested,” said Lieutenant Masemola from Dennilton SAPS. She said the five suspects robbedthe supermarket of an undisclosed amount of money, boxes of cigarettes and airtime vouchers.“Two firearms and ammunition were found during the arrest of the suspects. They appeared beforethe Moutse Magistrate’s Court and they were denied bail. They will appear again soon. Aninvestigation is underway,” she said.

Five suspects arrested for armed robbery

One man died and another one was hospitalized after they were beaten by the community atMajakaneng Section in Tafelkop Village on Monday 2 March. According to Constable BoitumeloMatlala from Motetema SAPS, the victim died on the way to hospital after injuries he sustainedduring the beatings. “The two victims were brought by two Pakistani to the police station afterthey were assaulted by the community accusing them of being connected with a string of crimestaking place in the area,” he said. “An ambulance was called but unfortunately one of the victims,named Doctor Selahle, died before he could reach the hospital,” said Matlala. He said a case ofmurder was opened at Motetema SAPS and four people were arrested. “They appeared beforethe Motetema Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 3 March. They will appear again on Friday 20March. The investigation is underway,” he said.

Mentally ill man arrested forraping an eight year old

childA 52 year old mentally ill man named Samuel Mahlangu was arrested after raping a 8 year old child.According to the police report, the victim was on her way to visit her aunt at Taereni in Dennilton.“Apparently when the victim was in the bushes, the suspect attacked the child and started toundress her. He overpowered and raped the little girl and she was rescued by people who werepassing by,” said Lieutenant Masemola from Dennilton SAPS.She added that it was discovered that both the suspect and the victim were mentally ill.“The suspect was taken to custody and appeared before the Moutse Magistrate’s Court on Friday6 March. He is still in custody and will be checked for his mental fitness before he can beprosecuted,” she said.

Man killed by a womanhe raped

A 50 year old male was beaten with a digging spade and died in Tafelkop Majakaneng the policesaid. The incident took place on Saturday 28 February around 19:45.“The deceased forced entry into the woman’s house. He then produced a knife instructing thevictim to undress. He then raped the woman and fell asleep,” said Constable Boitumelo Matlalafrom Motetema SAPS.He said the woman took a digging spade and started assaulting the perpetrator. She then left himbleeding and informed some of the community members.“The deceased was rushed to Groblersdal Hospital but died the following day after sustainingserious head injuries. The deceased was later identified as Tumisang Lucas Chego. A case ofmurder is under investigation,” he said.

Suspects arrested inpossession of stolen

cigarettesTwo men were arrested at Motetema for allegedly robbing an employee of a cigarette companywho was delivering cigarettes to a shop on Thursday 5 March. According to the police report, the employee stopped to deliver cigarettes when he wasoverpowered by two unknown suspects who forced him back into his vehicle and drove to abushy area where they off loaded the cigarettes into their own vehicle before fleeing. Two hours later, police got a report of a suspicious vehicle at Manapyane Village. The policearrived at the house and two people tried to run away. The house was searched and R200 000worth of cigarettes were recovered. The two were arrested and would face charges of possession of stolen property. Investiga-tions to link them to more incidents are continuing.

The body of a man aged between 25 and 30 was found lying dead in the bushes near MarbleHall Town the police said. The body was discovered by a community member on Thursday 5March at Mamaneng Village a few kilometers from Marble Hall Town.“The police were called and rushed to the scene after the gruesome discovery. The deceasedwas wearing grey trousers and a black T-shirt,” said Constable Lethunya Mmuroa from MarbleHall SAPS.He added that several pistol cartridges were found next to the body. He was having visible bulletwounds on the head, chest and left arm. Police opened case of murder and they are busy withinvestigations.“The body was taken to Groblersdal Government Mortuary for post mortem. The deceased isnot yet identified. The police are appealing for assistance from the community to assist withthe identification of the deceased. Anyone with information regarding the deceased and thesuspect(s) is urged to call the nearest police station on 08600 10 111 or Marble Hall SAPS on013 261 8614,” he concluded.

On Wednesday 4 March Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality FC hostedMotetema SAPS FC for a friendly soccer match. The match was organ-ized at Groblersdal Chris Wiid Rugby Stadium and started at 17:00.The host started the match by attacking the visitors penetrating into thebox demanding an early goal. A good scoring chance by Elias Motsoalediwas denied by the goalie in the 6th minute. A counter by Andersonentered the box passing a ball to Andries whose shot went straight intothe keeper’s hands.The host continued the pressure but Tau was also denied a goal whenhis shot went wide facing the goalie. After being pressured for the firstten minutes, the visitors started playing good passes in the mid-field andshooting from long ranges. The Motetema SAPS pressure led to the hoststarting to pass their balls to opponents, this raised pressure from thevisitors and they started to put more pace in the match. An opening goalwas scored by Motetema SAPS FC in the 18th minute, after a free kickout of the box. Motetema SAPS’ free kick specialist Khoza, made nomistake and took the ball straight to the poles and beat the goalie to makethe score 1-0 to his side. After the goal the host started to play longpasses to try and find their strikers to equal the scoring. Their attemptto score failed when defenders managed to stop balls from entering theirbox. Towards the 30th minute the visitors started playing back passesand stopped attacking. This nearly caused them a punishment becausetheir defender passed a ball to an opponent but the keeper came for arescue, managed to catch the ball just before Anderson could shoot.Towards the end of the first half, the municipality dominated the matchbut they didn’t score an equalizer after being denied by the defendersand most of their shots from long range went wide.
