General Information

Course DescriptionThe Annual Update in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation is a two-day course designed to update participants on a range of nephrology topics relevant to current medical practice.

Topics include:•chronickidneydisease•hypertension•glomerulardiseases•dialysis•kidneytransplantation

Through a combination of lectures, literature review, and case-based presentations, this course will deliver up-to-date and cutting edge information that can be directly integrated into clinical practice.

*Inaddition,anintroductoryworkshop“Bedside Ultrasonography for the Nephrologist” will be offered Saturday morning. This 4 hourhands-onworkshopprovidesparticipants with techniques used to acquire ultrasoundimagesofthekidneys,bladderand large vessels and guidance in recognizing common pathology detected by ultrasound. An additional fee of $90 is required to participateinthisworkshop,andspaceislimited to the first 9 participants. Sign up for this session on the registration website.

The course provides ample opportunity for interaction with expert faculty. This year we are partnering with United Kingdom Renal Association to add a strong international presence of guest faculty to the program. We continue to feature the popular audience responsesystemtomaximizespeakerandattendee interactions. A comprehensive on-line syllabus will be available for future reference.

Attendees are encouraged to bring laptops or iPads for viewing during the course.
