Transcript of 12a my personal philosophy of education
“Tell me and I’ll forget;Show me and I may remember;Involve me and I’ll understand.”
-Chinese Proverbs
This definition makes imperative to have a philosophy of education and beliefs in the functions of
teaching. As a teacher I believe that every student is:
An embodied spirit.
Naturally born with special skills, and interest.
Demands patience and understanding, most importantly sense of belongingness primarily from
both their parents and teacher.
Equip with strong will inside them but still aspire for some sort of motivation.
Unique and so comparing a student to other students has no basis.
I believe that there are unchanging values in changing times and these must be passed on to every
student by modeling, value inculcation and value integration in my lessons.
I believe that my task as a teacher is to facilitate the development of every student to the optimum and
maximum.
Showing my sincere concern for their welfare, knowing that my care would develop an impact
among their self-control and self-discipline as they tend to be more responsible for their own
behavior.
Having kind words of praise, encouragement and appreciation for their good deeds which will
then boost their self-confidence and self-motivation.
Providing opportunities for their individual growth through removal of hampering influences.
Reaching out to all my students without bias and prejudice towards the “least” of the students.
