Thank you! At this time, Oaklawn is seeking an Interim Administrative Assistant for the church office. The job will require a minimum of 25 hours each week. The rate of pay is $10.00 per hour. If you wish to be considered for the position, please deliver your resume to Hazel Pleasants, Personnel Chairman, by Wednesday, June 18 th . Wednesday Night Changes

We will continue to have Wednesday night activities throughout the summer, but there will not be a meal

served until Awana returns in the fall. Next Wednesday, June 18th, there will not be regular

evening activities, due to the Awana awards banquet.  

 

We will meet next on June 12 at 9:30am, to travel to Hauser Creek Farm in Davie County. The cost of the tour is

$5.00 per person, and we will be stopping for lunch while we are out.

Please make plans to join us for the fun!

In the Hospital 5/30 Frank Hundley is in Silas Creek Rehabilitation,

room 112. Betty Hundley has been struggling with her eyesight. Please pray for her as she takes care of Frank.

Recovering at Home 5/21 Ken Story recovering well after surgery for a

pinched nerve in his elbow. 6/6 Latha Hafer has been discharged from the

hospital and recovering at home. 6/4 Gene West (Eddie and Ken’s brother) has been

released from Forsyth Hospital. Please continue to pray for healing.

Sympathy 6/13 Reese Griffith (Linda Fountain’s daughter-in-

law’s niece) passed away with William’s Syndrome in Ralls, Texas. Parents are Emily and Jeremy.

Procedures 6/11 Zula Parker (submitted by Sandra West) has an

upcoming surgery, but must wait on insurance approval. Please pray for them to make a decision quickly.

Short Term (One Month) 5/23 Elaine (Carla Dupree’s friend’s mother) is on

dialysis and had a heart attack. She is in serious condition.

5/27 Alyssa Huff (submitted by Linda Huff) grand daughter had knee surgery 5/19/14- no weight on it for 4-6 weeks.

5/30 Please pray for Sunrise Towers. 6/6 Linda Peterson is sick, please pray for healing. 6/11 Michelle Christenbury (submitted by Shannon

Broadnax) had a miscarriage. 6/13 Arlene Hicks (Linda Smith’s brother-in-laws

mom) fell at home and resulted in brain trauma. She is at Duke Hospital. Please pray for healing.

Long Term (Two Months) 4/27 Jan & Chris Wikel (submitted by Denice

Fortenberry) Pray for healing for their marriage and for peace for each of them individually.

4/27 Tess David (submitted by Denise Fortenberry) was just diagnosed with kidney cancer that has already spread to the lungs. She has only one kidney.

Spring Golf Tournament

Choir Practice The time of our choir practice has changed. We have returned to a

schedule of practice every Wednesday night at 7:45pm. We also need more choir members! If

you are interested in joining, please see Jay for more

information.

The Pilot Mountain Baptist Association will host student teams from all over the

USA this Tuesday through Thursday, June 17-19. They will be participatin in

Backyard Bible Clubs all over Forsyth County. We need lots of bottled water, cookies, and some monetary donations

to help out. Please bring your donations to our church by this Tuesday at noon.

Missions Corner  

Because of Father’s Day, there is no Sunday Night

Live tonight. We’ll see you next week!

VBS will run from Monday, 8/11 thru Friday, 8/15. Your help is needed! Please mark your calendar

now, and be part of this wonderful ministry to the kids of our church and community. Please contact Deb Weaver @ 831-3455 or Denise Fortenberry @

Student Fundraisers We will have a car wash on Saturday, June 28th! Feel

like off-roading? We’ll clean up the mess! On Sunday, June 29th after our

morning worship, we are having a cookout at the church. Come eat with us! All donations will help our students

get to Teen Revolution at the end of July. It will be here soon!

Attention Clubhouse Parents!

The last Clubhouse meeting for this

period is June 15th. We will not start up again until August

17th. Parents will need to pick up their

children immediately after Sunday school during the summer.

5/4 Donovan Engelbrecht (submitted by Carol Doll) 30 years old and has leukemia and has two very young children. Please pray for complete healing and that it would bring glory to God.

5/10 Shahania Royster has financial praise with Cornerstone Living Center, but still recovering.

5/14 Jayden (daughter of Jazmia Marlin) is a baby born very prematurely. Please pray for her lungs to heal.

5/16 Diane Chrismon (Linda Smith’s niece) had surgery for a tumor on her good kidney, and it was successful; they saved part of the kidney. Please pray for healing.

5/21 Our Church, that I Cor. 13 be understood and lived out in our home and our church-without the love described therein, we do all we do in vain.

5/23 Tommy Throckmorton (husband of Jan) had a massive heart attack. He is home now, but has many blockages and severe diabetes.

6/4 Venus Brandt (Todd Haley’s mother) was discovered to have a 2cm mass in her lung, which is believed to be cancerous. Please pray for healing and comfort.

6/4 Julie Peache (submitted by Elaine Ratliff) has been diagnosed with leukemia.

6/4 Mark Hoover (submitted by Linda Fountain) has cancer, and has been told he only has six months to live. His father died last fall, so please pray for this family!

6/6 Curtis Squire had a toe removed. Please pray for healing and comfort.

6/11 Ian Layton (Ken and Cheryl Story’s grandson) was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, which is why he can’t sit, stand, or walk on his own.

6/11 Art Clawson Pray for his family in Salisbury; to go home with his wife and kids. Please pray for him in this time of need.

6/11 Derek Laws (Shannon Broadnax’s nephew) toxoplasmosis is active again, with other abnormalities.
