Introduction: Founded in May 1996, DSC has been able to make a mark in the Texas market. DSC is a company that has grown from only working in the Houston market to gradually expanding to other cities like Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas-Fort Worth. What began as stone retail, today has diversified into commercial, residential (Custom and Production Builders), and the remodeling market; we have become a one stop shop for remodelers, builders, and commercial project managers. We have dove into the opportunity of offering solutions to our customers who don’t have the time. We create an experience at DSC where the average person can choose everything for their remodeling needs at one location. We have done this through our core competencies of innovation, low cost product manufacturing, low cost complements, extra client services, easily adaptable, HR management(our employees), and marketing. Designer Stone Center, Inc. offers stone, manufacturing, installation, and remodeling. We have designers, architects, and engineers to help you get the exact look you want to achieve while staying in your budget. If you can dream it, we can do it!

Timeline – Who We Are: Designer Stone Center, Inc. (DSC) is a large family owed company started in 1996. DSC originally started as a distribution center carrying mostly European product to the US market, but then quickly moved into manufacturing stone in 1998 producing granite kitchens for the local market. In 1999, we landed the first major account, Trendmaker Homes. Since 1999, we have been working with them as the 100% provider for all natural stone products (including tile and engineered stone), and we install 100% of all granite, marble and travertine counter tops for their homes. Today, we have diversified into more segments i.e. homeowners, commercial, residential builders, and remodeling. These segments are not all correlated and as one becomes stronger then another becomes weaker. This strengthens our business giving us a very balanced portfolio. This diversification has helped us tremendously in our venture. Our large variety of handpicked, specially selected and unique exotic products in addition to the everyday production builder stones used in the current market has helped to compete in many different segments. Our vertical integration—from supplier to producer has helped us to keep our cost down, not having to pay other stone yards for full slabs and also pay their large markups. We also have been very successful in implementing tailored multi level stone programs for builders. Builders are excited to hear that at Designer Stone Center, you do not have to purchase the whole slab. Builders are billed according to the portion of the slab used (square footage of the area). This program includes all regular priced or even exotic materials. This exists as long as the product comes from our stocked inventory; for this reason we have a large inventory of over 400 different colors to choose from. Due to our constant turnover, we are also able to provide orphan slabs of premium materials at a discount to you. Suppliers sometimes also like to promote materials through us letting us pass down the savings to you for the limited time that they have stock.

Our Focus: Customer Service. We understand that in these hard times pricing is very important for any builder to be competitive in today’s market. In addition to pricing, we strive to provide the best customer service. We are a customer oriented company and take great pride in the fact that we work very hard to satisfy the needs of every one of our clients. We believe that luxury is an experience that exceeds expectations. It meets the exclusive dreams to each person through service, quality, and value. Locations and Showroom: Currently our showroom and facility of 104,000 square feet is located ½ block away from Beltway 8 and Tanner Rd. (on the west side of town). We have a second location just 2 ½ hours south of San Antonio (12 miles south of Eagle Pass), located in Piedras Negras, Mexico, where we produce counter tops and cut to size for commercial projects, which has the capability to cover all of the Texas market. We strive to reflect our design and creativity, which is something we do at NO Cost to the homebuyer when he/she purchases his product from us. We truly believe that “if you can dream it, we can do it” which has become our trademark slogan.

Inventory: We stock of over 400 colors of natural stone slabs such as Granite, Marble, Travertine, Limestone, Quartzite, Onyx and Soapstone. We recently added a new line of “green” products, which is made from recycled glass and concrete slabs. We carry 6 different colors in stock and they can be used for counter tops at very competitive cost. Also, we are certified fabricators and suppliers of engineered quartz materials and carry the lines of Caesar Stone, Silestone, and Okite. For our natural stone purchasing, we currently have inspectors in Italy, Spain Brazil and China that hand pick all of our materials before it is loaded into our containers, so that we can be assured that besides looking and approving materials using photographs prior to loading. All our material is inspected at the original location or point of origin and are first grade quality selected slabs (with no flaws).

Additional Products: We offer a variety of different sinks according to your needs such as drop-ins and under mounts in copper, stainless steel, porcelain, cast iron, and we also design custom made in-house stone sinks in granite, marble translucent onyx with lighting, etc. Special sinks can be custom designed by our architectural team to your taste and desire. In addition to counter tops we have a internal division handling Installation of flooring and wall cladding in natural stone or tile, we can produce special cut to size fireplaces and carry some carved fireplace in stock, design and installation of fountains, Columns, Staircases, Balustrades, Commercial installations floor and walls, special cut to size exterior installations, signs and fabrication of stone furniture. We have 2 Architects in staff that can provide Estimating, designs and value engineering for your project at no additional cost! We also have an in house production line in our manufacturing facility that can produce Honed, Polished and also provide a new Antique brushed finish on any of the slabs in our inventory, this way every slab can be provided in 3 different finishes depending on your requirements, that would triplicate our number of slabs in stock to more than 400colors x 3 different finishes gives you more than 1200 different options to choose from !!

Builder Programs: We always tailor programs for any builder. We work together with our builders, none of our builders have the same stone programs; all stone programs are based upon the builder’s own selections made by his own design teams. In addition to slabs, we currently offer a large pre-manufactured vanity program for several builders. We order pre-made tops of first grade selected stone, which saves time in manufacturing. Depending upon the size and required countertops of your homes, your savings will change! Currently we have 14 granites and have placed additional orders for another 14 Marble and travertine colors coming with their respective matched backsplashes.

Yates, Linbeck, SET Floors, etc. Many of our jobs have also included several natural stone cut–to-size projects. We have an astounding reference list with projects such as, Museum of Science Forth Worth, The University of Mississippi Law School Building, Legacy at Fallbrook, PriceWaterHouse Coopers Bathrooms, City Center in Town and Country Houston, Trimet Washington Metro Park Station, Hawaii Veterans Memorial, Supplied all the stone for the Sears Tower building in Chicago, in addition to several hotels in Hawaii and Colorado, etc. We also work closely with Interior Designers such as Jane Page Design, Kathy Andrews Interiors, and Scene One Interiors. DSC can also manufacture and ship high end countertops and furniture pieces overseas to places like the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and Virgin Islands through Ladco and TCC Multifamily Interiors.
