    LITEM036: Translation Theory

    Tutor: Jean Boase-Beier Spring 2011 Thursdays 2-4

    This module discusses key theoretical and descriptive pronouncements on translation bytheorists and practising translations working mainly within the Western tradition.However, we will try to look at other traditions as well, depending on the expertise andinterests of the members of the group. The focus is predominantly on contemporarywork, with some older commentary providing historical context. Students are encouragedto explore their own theoretical interests and present their findings in class.
