Is David Daleiden a Criminal? As I write this, indictments have just

been handed down against DavidDaleiden and Sandra Merritt, the primaryindividuals behind the Center forMedical Progress undercover videos thatexposed Planned Parenthood (PP) offi-cials’ involvement in the sale of abortedbabies and/or their parts. The indict-ments came after a grand jury wasimpaneled in Harris County, Texas, where the Houston PP is located.

It is important to understand how oursystem of justice works in order to beginto understand what has happened. Aprosecuting attorney presents “evidence”to a grand jury without a judge or defenseattorney present. The legal purpose ofthe grand jury is to determine whetherthere is enough evidence to charge some-one with a crime. There does not have tobe enough evidence to convict the personand the individual may or may not havecommitted a crime. It is well within thepower of a prosecuting attorney tomanipulate the “evidence” to either keepsomeone from being indicted who maybe guilty of a crime and to indict some-one who is innocent of a crime. Over-whelmingly, prosecutors do not abusethis system, but in this case it seems thata grand jury would most likely agree thatan abuse has taken place.

Working in the Harris County DistrictAttorney’s office is a PP board member.(PP is organized as a non-profit corpora-tion. Board members of non-profitsfunction as owners of the corporationwithout the benefit of being given theprofits from that corporation.) And asrecent as 2013, a grand jury impaneledby the same prosecuting attorney’s officefailed to indict Houston abortionistDouglas Karpen, who was accused bythree of his former employees of murder-ing babies born alive during late-termabortions. Photographic evidence pro-vided to Cheryl Sullenger of OperationRescue showed injuries to large abortedbabies that was consistent with thoseclaims.

The indictments are for the Purchaseand Sale of Human Organs (offering to

purchase aborted baby parts) and forTampering with a Governmental Record(apparently relating to their use of falseidentities). Keep in mind the videos asyou ponder these charges. The Houston,Texas PP was featured in these videos, which revealed the gruesome pickingthrough of the body parts of babies after aday of abortions and employees with thisPP discussing the selling of the babyparts, not to Daleiden, but as a normalcourse of business for them.

The grand jury failed to indict PP,while indicting Daleiden and Merritt. However, Texas Governor Greg Abbotthas reiterated his call for a full investiga-tion into PP, so the organization could beindicted in the future.

We should not be shocked at this turnof events. PP is the abortion giant. Theyhave positioned themselves with politicalpower and a wealth of funding. Manywell placed politicians have their cam-paigns funded by a PP political action

committee. (Minnesota’s Lt. Governor,Tina Smith, is a former PP V.P.) PP hadbeen reeling from the sting of the under-cover videos this past summer. Now theyare striking back with all they have, call-ing in political favors from their bought-and-paid-for politicians.

These indictments look to be more forthe media and the restoring of PP’s imagethan anything of real substance. But forDavid Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, theseindictments are very serious. It would notbe the first time in our jurisprudence sys-tem should they be prosecuted and evenwrongfully found guilty.

All this should make us realize the gripthe demonic spirit of abortion has in ournation. The work of bringing an end tothe killing of the innocent will not bewithout great sacrifice, hard work and, especially, prayer and fasting as neverbefore.

“Caroling for Life” in Orlando and Duluth4 Pro-Life Action News February 2016

by Michele HerzogCentral Florida Branch Manager

What an amazing day we had Decem-ber 19, singing Christmas carols, readingscripture and praying at three of the abor-tion mills here in Central Florida! Westarted at the All Women’s Health Center(AWHC) abortuary and were thankful tohave Rich Graham lead us off with prayerand to have the Bohannan family lead usin music.

We then all caravanned and went to theOrlando Women’s Center (OWC) abortu-ary and began the same thing withsinging, reading scripture and prayingand right at the end, a couple we had beenreaching out to came out with tears, telling us they had changed their mindsand were keeping their baby! Theyinformed me that they are Christians, goto church, and found themselves there;those old carols, the scriptures and theprayers broke their hearts and they leftwhole! It was amazing! We then wentdown to Planned Parenthood on TampaAvenue and finished there. It was just a

wonderful, Holy Spirit-led day and weall thanked God for the life saved!

Editor’s note—Pro-Life ActionMinistries in Duluth helped organize agroup of young people who came fromMaranatha Christian Academy Decem-ber 18 to sing Christmas carols in frontof Planned Parenthood (photo below)and then at the Duluth abortion center.Afterwards they went to a nearby churchfor hot cocoa and cookies.

Is PP Hiding Something?

Comparisons Among Minnesota Abortion Centers

A baby was saved during the “Caroling for Life” event in Orlando December 19 (as alsohappened in 2014)! The couple is seen here approaching sidewalk counselor MicheleHerzog on their way out of the Orlando Women’s Center abortion mill and the youngwoman is hugging her in the photo below.

(continued on next page)

According to the 2014 Minnesotaabortion statistics (the last year for whichfigures are available), Planned Parent-hood (PP) committed the highest percent-age of chemical (RU-486) abortionsamong the abortion mills in the state. Also called the “abortion pill,” they com-prised 38% of PP’s total abortions (St.Paul and Rochester combined). Whole

Woman’s in Minneapolis was next withnearly 27%.  The Mildred Hanson abor-tion center in Minneapolis had the lowestpercentage at 4% of its total abortions.

Whole Woman’s was highest in thepercentage of late (second-trimester)abortions compared to the total numberof abortions committed at that mill, almost 12%, with PP next at 9.5%.

The percentage of black babies abortedcompared to the total number of babieskilled at a particular mill was highest atRobbinsdale at 39% and MildredHanson’s at nearly 33%. Curiously, 796of the 4,981 abortion clients at PP werelisted as black, but a huge number, 506,

were listed as “Unknown.” About 7% of the abortion clients at

Mildred Hanson’s and Whole Woman’swere Hispanic. Again, however, PP had ahuge number of “Unknowns” — 328were listed as “Hispanic,” 3983 as “NotHispanic” and 670 as “Unknown.” Is PPdeliberately trying to hide the numberof minority babies it kills?

Finally, at least 52% of the total num-ber of abortion clients in Minnesota hadused contraception in the past “but not atconception” and an additional 31% hadused contraception “at time of concep-tion.” Taking PP alone, the reported per-centages were similar. But, again, the sta-tistic there is skewed because PP lists alarge number (578) as “did not provideinformation.” Perhaps this is because itwould show that PP’s promotion ofbirth control doesn’t reduce the num-ber of abortions as it claims?

Listing AbortionistsA hallmark of our ministry has been

confronting the evil of abortion with thelove of Christ. This approach has includ-ed publicly identifying who the abortion-ists (and pro-abortion leaders) are. Thepractice of placing the names of abor-tionists in this newsletter has a twofoldpurpose: to ask for your heartfelt prayersfor the conversion of those listed and toinform you so that you are not patients ofthose committing abortions.

The criteria for placing someone onthis list is that the individual is directlyinvolved in committing abortions andthat this has been reasonably verified. We have resoundingly condemned anysort of physical or psychological threats

Pray for . . . to anyone involved in abortion. Ourdesire is for the love of God to permeatethe lives of those associated with abor-tion, that they will turn away from theharm they inflict and become followersof Christ as so many before them havedone. Please pray for the followingabortionists:

Is Your Doctor Involved in Abortions?Does Your Doctor PrescribeAbortifacient Birth Control?

Ask your doctor if he/she does abor-tions or refers for them, or prescribesabortifacients such as the Pill, OrthoEvra (the “patch”), Depo-Provera (the“shot”), Nuva-Ring, the “morning-afterpill,” implants, or the IUD. All thesemethods (and others) can cause veryearly abortions by thinning the lining ofthe uterus so that if breakthrough ovula-tion occurs (which is possible) and a newlife is conceived, the young human beingmay not be able to attach to the uterinelining and therefore he or she dies. These methods can also be very danger-ous, even deadly, to the woman. If youwould like to go to a completely pro-lifephysician, we have a list of such doctors.Call (651) 771-1500.

In Their Own Words . . . No Place in “Pro-Choice Rhetoric”“Our stories don’t really have a place in a lotof pro-choice discourse and rhetoric -- theheads that get stuck that we can’t get out(laughter from the audience), the hemor-rhages that we manage, the patients havingtheir eighth abortion, the patients who reallyfit any of the stereotypes that anti-abortionpeople like to talk about. Those are all partsof our experience, but there’s no real good

place for us to share those. So not only do we have self-censor-ship for all the reasons I already mentioned; we also have the burden of censorship because we care about this movement andwe don’t want to be a danger to it.”
