ALMIGHTY GOD, give us grace that we may cast away theworks of darkness, and put upon us the armor of light, nowin the time of this mortal life in which thy Son Jesus Christcame to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, whenhe shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both thequick and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; throughhim who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost,one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Let us then lay aside the works of darkness andut on the armor of light; let us live honorably as in the day,ot in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery andcentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, put onle Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, toratify its desires.

GOSPEL: Matthew 24:36-44ESUS SAID TO HIS DISCIPLES, "About that day and houro one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, butnly the Father. For as the days of Noah were, so will be theoming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before theood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving inlarriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knewothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so toorill be the coming of the Son of Man. Then two will be in theeld; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will berinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left..eep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day yourord is coming. God colls us to love one another. As a sign of that love, let us lift up ourprayer to God for the needs of all people throughout the world, saying:0 God, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of the world, that our instruments of war may betransformed into instruments of peace, and that nations shall cease tolearn war any more. O God, in your mercy,

We pray for the church, that we may become more and more a meansof grace and peace in the world. O God, in your mercy,

We pray for all people of good will who seek to cast off the works ofdarkness, that we may be enlightened through our service of others inthe name of Christ. 0 God, in your mercy,
