"I MUST ALWAYS BE REMINDED OF THE REASONS WHY I SHOULD INVOLVE." VOLUME 22 • ISSUE 44 • NOVEMBER 04 PURPOSE OF INVOLVEMENT As your Pastor, I am so blessed to see many of you attending and involving in our Missions Conference. I believe that God used this event to stir again our love for missions and for souls. God did really work through the power-filled preachings, divided sessions, special numbers, the college choir cantata, and even through sim- ple fellowships. I praise the Lord that He sent revival, and such was manifested by those who surrendered to serve God, declared publicly their decision to do God’s will, and made a commitment for faith promise giving. Let us continue to be a part of that eternal investment. I appreciate every member who showed a servant’s heart to over 400 delegates. Your involvement, whether by serving in the kitchen, driving a vehicle, ushering, singing special song, giving in our “Million for Missions” or letting a visiting delegate stay in your house, is not in vain. For sure, that act has helped us personally to love missions more and has given us a bigger heart for God and a greater vision for missions. To God be the glory for the success of our Missions Conference! As we start the last two months of the year, may we be more involved in God’s work. Have a blessed Sunday! DR. ED M. LAURENA

As your Pastor, I am so blessed to see many of you attending and involving in our Missions Conference. I believe that God used this event to stir again our love for missions and for souls. God did really work through the power-filled preachings, divided sessions, special numbers, the college choir cantata, and even through sim-ple fellowships.

LOTCOMMITMENT“

The happiest people on earth...are the people who have discovered the joy of giving.

We only have 6 Sundays to go before our scheduled family camp. Since we have a goal to avail of the exclusivity of the Rizal Re-creation Center, we are all enjoined to pay our camp fee at the earliest possible time. Payments may be given to Sis. Bajo Tolentino at the ushers’ table after the evening service.

Millions for Missions Miraculously Provided To God be the glory as He supplied our commitments by faith, and our church was able to help several pastors and missionaries during our Missions Con-ference. It will be our privilege to have a part in every soul that will be saved in their respective mission fields. Your generosity will surely be rewarded by God.

Last October 30 to November 1, we witnessed God’s power at work in our annual Missions Conference, which is one of the most significant highlighted events in our church. With the theme, “A Heart for God; a Vision for the World,” the occasion did not just revive and challenge the delegates for deeper involvement in soulwinning and world evangelization, but it also more importantly prompted every church member to have a personal examination of one’s heart-condi-tion towards missions.

Christians can get so involved in so many things that they fail to do the very thing that God commanded them to do. That is to make Jesus’ name known to “every creature” in our generation. To see this vision is impossible without first having a heart for God. Thus is the thrust of this year’s missions conference, which was well-attended by the church members and about 60 missionaries, pastors and preach-ers with their respective families and church workers, yielding a total of 425 delegates from within the country and abroad such as Ethiopia, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan. It was indeed a blessing to see a crowd of believers setting aside time for missions’ emphasis, endeav-oring to learn more about how to support the work, and showing inter-est to hear testimonies from various missionaries.

The conference-theme was expounded so well by Dr. Jerry Samson of The Bible Baptist Church of Caloocan, Rev. Arnold Vallejo of CBBC Los Banos, Dr. Ed Laurena, Dr. Gil Laurena of CBBC-Fort Bonifacio, and Pastor Genesis Refugio of Dipolog City who delivered challenging and encouraging sermons. Correspondingly, 15 faith-ful speakers for the divided daytime sessions taught practical and Biblical principles related to missions’ involvement. A good number of

delegates surrendered to commit to a deeper involvement in the min-istry of giving, soulwinning, and starting mission works. The delegates were set to bring the principles to their respective home churches, a manifestation that God truly is at work if we make His business our business.

Complementing the power-filled preaching-teaching success of the conference was the spirited music through our mini-orches-tra, rondalla, church choir, college choir, frontliners’ special number, CBBA ensemble. Students from Christian Bible Baptist Academy gave a special number about the responsibility of Christians to carry the Light in this lost and dying world. The Baptist Heritage Bible College (BHBC) Choir through a 30-minute Cantata prepared the congrega-tions’ heart for the final challenge. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, teachers and attendants made sure that babies and kids were man-aged in separate classrooms. Likewise, the kitchen crew and ushers also made sure that the people are fed and seated well.

The 3-day event is a result of prayer, sacrificial giving through “Millions for Missions,” and labor from our church family that aims to be a contributor in God’s vision through the Pastor. Thank God, Jesus Christ went all the way to Calvary, suffered, bled, and died so you and I can be saved from our own sins. It is hoped that this conference has challenged many and that we will not short-change God in all that He has already done. Only eternity can tell the impact and influence this missions-emphasis week has made in the hearts of the delegates. May we truly have “A Heart for God and a Vision for the World” and may the Lord be glorified in all we do.

A HEART FOR YOU, LORD, IS MY PRIVILEGED PURPOSEBeata Agustin

A heart for You, Lord, is my purpose-framed priority

Being Your redeemed possession, ransomed from sins’ captivity

Keep me in Your sovereign authority

As I live for You, always seeking first Your kingdom with sincerity.

A heart for You, Lord, is my privilege-filled aim

Being Your saved creation, rescued from hell’s shame

Keep me in Your heavenly flame

As I love You, always glorifying Your name.

A heart for You, Lord, is my providence-fixed objective

Being Your renewed convert, enlightened from selfishness’ perspective

Keep me in Your scriptural directive

As I follow You, always avoiding worldliness’ alternative.

A heart for You, Lord, is my power-fueled goal

Being Your guided disciple, pulled-out from religion’s hole

Keep me in Your wise counsel-role

As I learn from You, always striving to win a soul.

A heart for You, Lord, is my perfection-fenced desire

Being Your called steward, sanctified from wickedness’ mire

Keep me in Your divine fire

As I do that which You require, always serving You till I retire.

A heart for You, Lord, is my perseverance-fortified ambition

Being Your enriched heir, freed from iniquity-poverty’s affliction

Keep me in Your gracious provision

As I labor for You, always abounding in Your work’s fruition.

A heart for You, Lord, is my prayer-founded offering

Being Your adopted child, unburdened from transgressions’ suffering

Keep me in Your joyful worship of blessings’ outpouring

As I thank You, always praising You for Your caring and nurturing.

In Matthew 9:36–38, Jesus again brings the harvest to the attention of the disciples. This time we read, “But when he saw the mul-

titudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. ”

The word multitudes in verse thirty-six means “throngs or large numbers.” The word plenteous in verse thirty-seven is defined as “great, large, and abundant.”

Today 7 billion people are alive on the earth. That is a staggering number of human

beings. Some missionary leaders still estimate that at least half of them have never heard the Gospel, and some three-fourths of them have not had a clear presentation of the Gospel. The prophet Joel was right when he declared, “Multitudes, multi-tudes in the valley ofdecision...” Over 40 million people die annually with an estimated 39 million being unsaved. The population of Hell is ever increasing. These statistics are not just numbers, each one of them is a soul for whom Jesus Christ died.

In the spiritual harvest, the souls of men will be either redeemed or ruined. Oh that we could see the immensity of the harvest through the eyes of our Lord!

1. Jesus is with you.“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have com-manded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:202. The Holy Spirit will teach truth.“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but what-soever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” John 16:13-14

3. If we are faithful, we will see the harvest.“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 “He that goeth forth and wee-peth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:64. We have been given power to witness.“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusa-lem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:85. God’s Word is potent.“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
