THE GUIDE POST NOVEMBER 2016 | Issue 1 1 THE GUIDE POST November 2016 IN THIS ISSUE Dear Members, Thank you to all our members for making our October Technical meeting a great success. The session was well attended and Mr. Jason Strauss shared a lot of good information on ‘designing for Humidity’; thank you Jason. Once again, congratulations to all our RP Chance Draw winners!! And thank you sponsors for your gifts. For our next technical meeting on November 9th, we have an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer, Mr. Devin A. Abellon, P.E with us. We will be discussing about ‘Embedded tube Radiant systems to maximize LEED points’. Please spread the word and spend this evening with us! November 9th is also student night, where students get to attend an ASHRAE meeting free of charge!! We encourage students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, San Jose State, Santa Clara University and Stanford to take part in the industry. This is a great opportunity for the students to network and make friends with local HVAC/MEP engineers, industry leaders, and other students looking into the HVAC industry. With that said, we would greatly appreciate if you could sponsor a student for the November meeting. You can either do this when you sign-up for the meeting through our website or when you check-in at the venue. Finally, On behalf of SJ ASHRAE, I would like to wish you all and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!! Let us carry the spirit of Thanksgiving and gratitude for everything that we have. I am thankful to be a part of this wonderful chapter and for the opportunity to work along with all our amazing volunteers and members!! As always, please check our website www.sjashrae.org for most up-to-date information. See you all on November 9th! Message from your YEA Chairs:

The YEA Volunteer Fair was an incredibly successful event. We had a great turnout and recruited many volunteers for our Membership Promotion, Research

Promotion, CTTC, Student Activities and YEA committees. If you are new to the chapter or just looking for a way to get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!

We are always looking to recruit new volunteers.

Upcoming on the YEA Calendar is the YEA Christmas party! All young engineers and engineers who are young at heart are encouraged to attend. Drinks, food and an

ugly sweater contest – what more could you need?! Dates and details are still being ironed out, so look forward to more information coming out soon.

If you have any suggestions for future events, existing events, or want to help with

the YEA committee, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. Looking forward to seeing you all at Student Night!
