Board Meeting: None

General Meeting: The meeting was called to order at 6:33 PM by President, Cathleen Savage, via Zoom video conferencing instead of an in-person meting due to COVID.

Minutes: Cathleen moved for the September 2020 general meeting minutes to be accepted as published in the October 2020 newsletter. The motion was seconded by Reveille Kennedy.

Treasurer’s Report: John Martin, Treasurer, did not attend the meeting. Cathleen reported there is no money coming in at this time and it is creating some temporary issues.

Committee Reports

Marketing: Volunteer needed

Membership: Membership for the 2019-2020 year has been extended through December 31, 2020. Dues of $35.00 for 2021 are due on January 1. Please send the membership form and check to PO Box 355, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, or pay by PayPal via the website at: https://pikespeakwatercolorsociety.com/pay-your-membership-dues-online/. (See Page 7)

International Watermedia: Nancy Neale Martin, Watermedia Chair, did not attend the meeting,

but everything is proceeding according to schedule. (See Page 6) Members’ Show: No report

Library: Myra Patin was not in attendance but Cathleen reported that the library is enjoying lots of activity. If you are interested in checking out a video or purchasing some magazines, please contact Myra to set up a time.

Old Business: None

New Business: Lou Ann Sosalla is interested in starting a critique group. Cathleen noted that she could make the critique group leader a host for those meetings on Zoom.

Cathleen asked if there was interest in doing a holiday gift exchange at the December meeting. A suggestion was made that small original paintings be created that could be inserted into holiday cards. Paintings could be shown to the group during the meeting and the recipient chosen by random drawing. The card and painting would be sent to the recipient after the meeting.

A second suggestion was made to create the same small original paintings but donate them to local nursing homes and shut-ins may

be willing to accept outside gifts. This could be difficult due to COVID restrictions. Nancy Nuttleman volunteered to call several facilities to see who would accept paintings from the outside. School teachers could also be recipients for the paintings.

A third suggestion was made to cancel the meeting and gift exchange for this year. Cathleen will send out an email to members to gauge interest.

NOTE: Based on responses, there will be NO DECEMBER MEETING.

Programs: The remainder of the meeting was reserved for the members to show their current projects whether they are finished or in progress.

Cathleen noted that Zoom allows our society access to presenters that normally would not be available to us, for example, Carrie Roets-Waller, who lives in Japan.

Reveille Kennedy, Program Chair, reported on a wonderful slate of upcoming presenters:

November: Carrie Roets-Waller, Painting Glass (See Page 6)

December: December Meeting and Gift Exchange CANCELLED

January: Linda Bridges, Illustrating Children’s Books

February: Laurie Goldstein-Warren

March: Randy Hale

April: No meeting due to IW

May: Kelly Leahy Radding, Botanical Art

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:01 PM.

Respectfully submitted, Amy Ferguson, Secretary
