The Buzz Book is now accessible in Digital Download!

NOW all the information in the Sperreng Buzz Book: names, addresses, phone numbers, and email ad-

dresses of all your friends and classmates as well as clubs and activities lists, calendar, staff phone

numbers and other important information, is two clicks away.

It is SECURE: The Buzz Book is in .pdf form and can be accessed through the Sperreng website

under the “For Parents” tab. In order to access the link; you will need to enter the password: ????

need to get this????.

Please note that without the password, the book is NOT accessible. As an added security feature,

the user MUST have Acrobat or Acrobat Reader X (10) to access the Buzz Book.

Because your information is in the Current Buzz Book, your family information will be included in

the DIGITAL version. If at any time you wish to be removed from the DIGITAL version, it is your

responsibility to contact and inform the Buzz Book committee that you do NOT want to be includ-

WRESTLING WITH TEACHERS!

On Tuesday, November 26, the high school

wresting team will take on their coaches

in the big gym after school. The cost is

$1.00 with 100% of the proceeds going to

the juvenile diabetes foundation. For fur-

ther information, please see Mr. Hansel in

room 217.

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Science Olympiad still needs people to join the

team. If you like science and are interested in

finding out more about the Science Olympiad

team, see Mrs. Sears in the library!

FIDDLER CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS

Fiddler Christmas ornaments are on sale now. If you have not purchased your 2013 collectible glass ornament, the final 25 will be available for $10 at the beginning of the Fiddler concerts in December until sold out. Please support the Fiddlers by purchasing an ornament.

Sperreng Orchestra Events:

The middle school winter orchestra concert is Tuesday, December 17 at 6:30 pm., start-ing with the pre-concert recital of original middle school string compositions. At 7:00 p.m. the winter middle school string concert will begin, which will feature the Fiddlers, the 7th and 8th grade Orchestra, the 7th and 8th grade Truman Orchestra and the com-bined 6th grade strings from both middle schools. The Colonial Fiddlers will perform a concert free to the public at noon on Saturday, De-cember 7th at the Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis with the Illinois celtic group The Peacocks!

ROTARY CLUB OPERATION WARM The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Rotary clubs will be hosting a project that provides new winter coats to elementary school students in Lindbergh Schools. You can help by do-nating to their Operation Warm Fund. Every $20 contributed provides one additional child with a new winter coat. Rotary acquires their coats from Operation Warm, a 501(c)(3) charity that has provided new winter coats to ovr 1 million children across North America in just over a decade. With your help, they hope to provide 150 local chil-dren with new coats this winter. Learn more at: http:/www.operationwarm.org/crestwood-sunsethills

HEROIN EPIDEMIC SPEAKER TREND will be hosting a guest speaker from NCADA to talk about the heroin epidemic in St. Louis on Wednesday, December 4 from 3:00-4:00 in Truman’s cafeteria. We encour-age kids and parents to attend. SMS kids can ride the shuttle bus over. Kids can take the 4:00 activity bus home.

CANNED FOOD DRIVE

Interact Club hosted a food drive during the week of November 11-15.

Each team at Sperreng had a box to collect canned and dry food

items. There was a competition between the teams to see which team

could collect the most cans. The winning team was Team 6 Green, who

will win a Krispy Kreme donut for every student on that team! The fol-

lowing number of canned foods per team is as follows:

Team 6 Green—506—WINNER!!!

Team 7 Green—420

Team 7 Gold—302

MOTHER’S CLUB CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON

The Sperreng and Truman Mothers’ Club/PTO Christmas Luncheon will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Café Pro-vencal, 427 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, MO. See the flyer in the virtual backpack for RSVP information and menu!

CRESTWOOD ELKS DRUG AWARENESS ESSAY CONTEST

The Crestwood Elks are sponsoring an essay contest to promote Drug Awareness. Twelve students will win $25! See the flyer in the

virtual backpack.

SPOTLIGHT ON DIGITAL LITERACY AT SPERRENG

In Digital Literacy class, sixth grade students are creating ebooks

for elementary students in the Lindbergh District. Seventh graders

are creating and advertising video games to see who can create

the best game. Eighth graders are creating apps for their mobile

devices.

SPOTLIGHT ON ART AT SPERRENG

Art students just finished a paint unit and produced

some gorgeous values. Students have created an

Art Hallway Gallery on the second floor.

Currently, students are working on Crayon Batiks in sixth grade,

Tissue Paper Stained Glass in seventh grade art class and Metal

Repousse work in 8th grade art classes.

The colorful adventure continues!

7TH GRADE COTILLION

The 7th Grade Cotillion will begin on January 9th and will run through February 27th. Visit the virtual backpack for

Join only for the books you want to read. Read the book on your

TOYS FOR TOTS

Beginning November 18th, Lindbergh High School

will begin collecting for Toys for Tots. Last

year they collected over $4,000 worth of toys. The goal this year is

$6,000.

Toys will be accepted, as well as cash and check donations. Checks should

be made payable to Lindbergh Schools.

Toys for Tots has been a U.S. Marine Corp charity since 1947. Their goal

is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children in our community

by presenting them with a new toy for the Holidays. Please consider help-

ing out LHS with this worthwhile cause!

TYPHOON COLLECTION

Builders Club collected donations at the front door on Monday and Tuesday of this week for the victims of the typhoon in the Philip-pines. All money will be donated through UNICEF. UNICEF has a special fund for the victims of this tragedy. Good job, Builders

Club on this worthy effort! They collected a total of $70.03!!

LHS HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR The Lindbergh High School Mothers’ Club is holding its 38th annual Holiday Houe Tour on Sunday, December 8 and is looking for crafters and vendors

for the accompanying Boutique. Approximately 500 tickets are available for the event. The boutique will be open to both ticket holders and the general

public from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The boutique will be held at a new location in the heart of the Lindbergh School District, Concord Elementary School, 10305 Concord School Road. For more information, please go to

TREND is sponsoring a fundraiser selling Krispy Kreme certificates for $7.50 (good for a dozen glazed donuts and no purchase necessary) and cards for $12.00 (buy a dozen, get a dozen free glazed donuts=a total of 12 dozen donuts for a dollar each!)
