Following the recent amalgamation of ‘The London Law Expo 2017’ with ‘The European Legal Security Forum 2017’, this major international law event will offer visitors two large (individually branded) law events which will be staged at the same venue on the same day.

Following the ‘sold out’ success of both events during 2016, the recently amalgamated 2017 event is expected to welcome over 2,000 senior representatives from the UK, European and International legal sectors.

As Europe’s Largest Law Expo, the 2017 event will be staged over 2 floors where visitors will be offered open access to both events whilst being educated by over 70 expert presenters on 6 presentation stages. In addition, the 2017 event will also deliver 2,500 square metres of exhibition space where over 80 leading suppliers will be showcasing a wide array of services and solutions for the legal sector.

With ‘The London Law Expo’ taking place on the ground floor and ‘The European Legal Security Forum’ being staged on the 2nd floor. The 2017 event will welcome the UK’s largest audience of senior board level / head of department representatives, as well as many senior legal IT and IT security representatives from a wide range of law firms, chambers and legal businesses.

JOHN SAWERSFormer Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service

Sir John Sawers is the former chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS, also known as MI6). During his tenure, he modernised the Service and led it through major changes in operations, technology, and public accountability.

In presentations, Sawers is able to draw from his personal experience in managing the most challenging foreign and security policy issues of the last 20 years, including the rise of China, the evolution of Russia, the threat of terrorism and cyber attack, the changes in the Middle East, and the nuclear negotiations in Iran. The BBC said, “In complex negotiations, he mastered the art of delivering sound bites which sum up the issues.” His is a powerful look at the unpredictable global landscape, the forces and key players shaping the world, cyber security, and how organisations can make it work for them. He also remains closely involved in current affairs through his advisory work with leaders of corporations, financial institutions, and governments.

With a total of 36 years working for the British government, Sawers is a diplomat with close ties to Downing Street and the foreign policy establishment. He was the first outsider to be appointed to SIS in decades, and he was the first head to give a public speech, lifting the veil of secrecy surrounding the notorious agency. He will likely be remembered for bringing unprecedented openness to the role as he regularly appeared in media to describe the agency’s work.

Sawers began his career with MI6 in 1977, serving in Yemen and Syria. He then left MI6, joined the Foreign Office, and rose rapidly. He served in South Africa, the EU, and Washington DC until 1998. Geopolitically, that period was dominated by war in Bosnia, crises in the Middle East, and the debate in Britain on the European Union.

FC is a well-known ethical hacker and social engineer. He started at a young age when computers were growing in popularity and the hacker scene was in its infancy. He has been working in the infosec field for over 20 years and excels at circumventing access controls. He is motivated by a drive to make individuals, organisations and countries more secure and better-able to defend themselves from malicious attack.

As an ethical social engineer, FC ‘breaks into’ hundreds of banks, offices and government facilities in the UK and Europe. His work demonstrating weaknesses in physical, personnel and digital controls assists organisations to improve their security. FC is currently Head of Cyber Research for Raytheon UK where he performs valuable research into vulnerabilities. He is also the CEO of Redacted Firm, a small company specialising in physical security, social engineering awareness training and bespoke social engineering and penetration testing. His client list involves every major high-street bank in the UK, FTSE100 companies and multiple government agencies and security forces.

Graham Cluley is an award-winning security blogger, researcher and public speaker. He has been a well-known figure in the computer security industry since the early 1990s when he worked as a programmer, writing the first ever version of Dr Solomon’s Anti-Virus Toolkit for Windows.

Since then he has been employed in senior roles by companies such as Sophos and McAfee.

Graham Cluley has given talks about computer security for some of the world’s largest companies, worked with law enforcement agencies on investigations into hacking groups, and regularly appears on TV and radio explaining computer security threats.

Graham Cluley was inducted into the InfoSecurity Europe Hall of Fame in 2011, and was given an honorary mention in the “10 Greatest Britons in IT History” for his contribution as a leading authority in internet security.
