Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) is a technology that puts data from different sources together on an optical fiber, with each signal carried at the same time on its own separate light wavelength. Using DWDM, up to 80 (and theoretically more) separate wavelengths or channels of data can be multiplexed into a lightstream transmitted on a single optical fiber. Each channel carries a time division multiplexed (TDM) signal. In a system with each channel carrying 2.5 Gbps (billion bits per second), up to 200 billion bits can be delivered a second by the optical fiber. DWDM is also sometimes called wave division multiplexing (WDM).

10G DWDM transceivers

10G DWDM Transceivers are available in 40 standard ITU DWDM channels from CH20 to CH61 (1528.77nm-1561.42nm). They are also available in a variety of rated distance options, including 40km and 80km. Fiberstore 10G DWDM Transceivers are available for DWDM 10G Ethernet application, DWDM grid 100 GHz and 50 GHz.

DWDM SFP+ Transceivers

The DWDM SFP+ has a specific tuned laser with a pre-defined “color” which is defined in the DWDM ITU grid. The 100GHz C-Band is the mostly used in the telecom industry. The spacing between the channels is 0.8nm and it’s around 1550nm. The colors or wavelength are named in channels and channel 17 to 61 is commonly used. The 50GHz with 0.4nm spacing and other spectrum bands can be provided by us as well.
