At ferti•lome®, we understand the beauty which can be added to your landscape with Azaleas, Camellias, Rhododendrons or any number of other acid loving plants. The greatest beauty can be enjoyed with proper care from planting through maturity.

If you are adding to your landscape with new plants, choose healthy plants, which, when mature, will properly fill the planting space. Keep in mind there is more to proper planting of Azaleas, Camellias and Rhododendrons than just digging holes in the ground.

Acid loving plants such as Azaleas, Camellias, Rhododendrons, etc. do not need coddling, but they will flourish if given soil of the proper acidity and texture as well as proper nutrients.

ferti•lome® Azalea, Camellia, Rhododendron Food supplies the proper major plant nutrients as well as helps control soil acidity. While soil texture begins at planting, acidity should be controlled continuously during the plant’s life. Plant nutrients are needed throughout the year, and the following are recommendations for proper feeding.

Feed existing plants in very early spring, again after blooming, and again in the fall. Apply the plant food evenly to the soil out under the spread of the widest branches but away from the trunk. Use ¼ to ½ cup of plant food for plants 1 to 5 feet in height. Use ¾ to 1 ¼ cups for plants 6 to 12 feet in height. Always water in gently after application.
