Inuchiyo Route: A walking course established by Nakagawa Ward

In order to commemorate the birthplace of Maeda Toshiie, the Nakagawa Ward of Nagoya has established Inuchiyo Route, a walking course related to Toshiie. The road surface along the route is marked with a plum and arrow (see photograph).

Arako is the root of the Ikeda family, the builders of Himeji Castle

According to topography, the residence of Ikeda Tsunetoshi existed in what is currently the Koshiro-cho neighborhood of Nakagawa Ward. Tsunetoshi,s grand son Terumasa built Himeji Castle.

The Arako neighborhood in Nakagawa Ward was the childhood home of Toshiie, or Keiji. The Arako neighborhood is the home of the Kaga Hyakuman-Goku (an extremely prosperous rice crop), and even today Arako continues exchanges with the Owari neighborhood in Kanazawa City.
