Employers value the skills, experience and academic capabilityof students. In particular they value their ability to quicklygrasp business concepts and demonstrate strong commercialawareness of current business issues an internship is theperfect chance to demonstrate this. Our employers are ableto offer students an internship in a variety of ways:
onsite, based in their company ofces;
offsite, based remotely at Coventry University London Campus(Consulting project) or;
a mix of the above options, as directed by the employer.
Depending on the internship, students may be working for anemployer individually or as part of a consulting group to completea key business project and improve business performance.
The internship is likely to involve developing business strategy,undertaking business planning, and creating marketing initiatives,identifying nance opportunities or other relevant opportunitiesthat the employer identies.
Students will have the opportunity to work with employers froma variety of industries/sectors based across the UK and beyond.
To undertake an internship, students will need to be interviewedand selected by an employer. The experience and researchcarried out whilst working with the employer will enable studentsto complete a written module assignment. To be eligible toundertake a project with an employer students must demonstrateexcellent academic performance and maintain regular attendancethroughout their course. Students are also required to workclosely with the Employability Team to prepare themselvesfor a potential interview and work opportunity.

Business simulation project These projects give students theopportunity to create and run theirown virtual, global business, usingsimulation software to replicate the realbusiness world. Working as part of a
senior management team students willbe responsible for building their globalbusiness and making a prot. This optiongives an opportunity to put theory intopractice and manage a business fromresource allocation through to marketingstrategies and nancial management.
Simulations are available in thefollowing areas:

Consulting project As a form of internship, students act asexternal consultants to a business, eitherindividually or as part of a consulting group,advising the business on a specic projector issue relating to the students eld ofspecialism. Work/study abroadIn contrast to many other programmesat other institutions, the London Campus
makes it a requirement for BA (Hons)Global Business Management UK studentsto go abroad as part of their year 2either to study or for a work placement.International students studying on theBA (Hons) Global Business Managementare abroad already by virtue of studying inLondon and can choose to have a work-related project in the UK.
For the BA (Hons) International Financeand Accounting UK students can choosea sandwich option whereby they work orstudy abroad for a year after their year 2,before coming back to study for their nalyear. The work/study abroad supports theconcept of the programmes being trulya global experience in an internationally-orientated institution. Study programmesand work placements are usually inEnglish so that students are not requiredto have prior knowledge or learn a foreignlanguage during the programme, hencegiving them more time to focus on directly,vocationally-relevant skills.

Amir has over six years experience inthe engineering sector and has workedfor various international organisations inIran and abroad. While the process of being endorsedby the University for a Tier 1 GraduateEntrepreneur Visa is well laid out, theselection was challenging. Amir workedvery hard on his business proposal andwas called in for an interview to discusshis project, its uniqueness and feasibility.
The interview was only part of the processand after having satised all of the criterias,
Amirs project was approved for universityendorsement for the Tier 1 GraduateEntrepreneur Visa.
The team was very attentive. They took my project and ideas seriously and after a selection process including an interview,they made the decision to endorse my Tier1 Graduate Entrepreneur application.
Amirs new venture is USBC UK andhe also recently launched USBC Africa.USBC UK introduces a new generationof industrial plants known as USBC-Generation. It also offers a number ofservices in downstream oil and gas, steel,
energy and infrastructure sectors.

As an integral part of all postgraduate programmes, ASPIRE continues our commitment to delivering thebusiness skills that employers demand from graduatesentering the workplace. Students will follow a series ofbespoke non-credit bearing modules that support thedevelopment of professional and industry relevant skills
that can be applied to their real business experience oncampus, and practiced in the nal term. The programmeincludes the latest in career coaching techniques toprepare students to present themselves successfullyto potential employers.
Academic and Professional Skills This module helps students to develop the key research and study skills tosuccessfully manage learning at postgraduate level. By exploring their chosenarea of business, student will develop expertise in research and writing skills for
business, presenting original industry relevant research, developing multiculturalteams, and making successful decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.
Employability and Consulting Skills This highly interactive module helps students understand the needs of employersin their chosen career and to present themselves with condence and passion topotential employers. During the module, students will receive tailored feedback ontheir personal presence and impact in a business environment and how to developtheir ability to secure employment. Activities include building effective workingrelationships at work, understanding the needs of employers and deliveringcompelling presentations.

How will the programmebe taught? In a typical week students can
expect to attend up to 12 hoursof Knowledgecasts (lectures)and seminars.

BA (Hons) Global BusinessManagement Top-Up This one year programme is aimed at studentswho already hold a Level 5 qualication in arelated eld. Typically the student would hold aqualication such as a Higher National Diploma(HND), Foundation Degree or equivalent andwill be looking at joining the BA (Hons) GlobalBusiness Top-Up; which is effectively the thirdyear of a UK degree programme.
BA (Hons) Global Business (Top-Up) would appealto students who are looking at achieving a higher

Managing International Trade This module aims to provide studentswith an introduction to the main issues ininternational trade, from an operationalpoint of view. In addition to reviewing the
main actors, regulations and institutionsinvolved in it, and analysing world tradeexchanges and characteristics, studentswill also have the opportunity to engage inthe technical and operational aspects ofinternational trade. Resourcing and TalentManagement

Who is the programme aimed at? This programme is aimed at students with an interest in quantitative nancial
trading wishing to pursue a career in international nancial trading. The courseexamines the principles of global nancial markets, the methods and systems used,and their impact across a broad range of contemporary nancial trading.
Students will focus on trading and the behavior of global nancial markets, including theuse of a unique, simulated trading oor, which provides practical exposure and hands-onexperience in the art of trading.
