Activate AMD Steady Video technology to help stabilize your shaky video and enjoy a smoother video experience.1

Combine select DirectX® 11 capable AMD Radeon™ discrete graphics cards with select AMD APU-based systems to enable AMD Dual Graphics and enjoy a faster gaming experience.2

d. After the latest CAP has been installed, disable the AMD CrossFireX™ technology from the AMD VISION Engine Control Center and shut down the system.

e. Install the discrete graphic card and connect the display to it.

f. Power on and enable AMD CrossFireX™ again through the AMD VISION Engine Control Center if it is not completed automatically. Reboot your system to enjoy the AMD Dual Graphics Technology instantly.

Use AMD Video Converter to convert video from one format to another.

a. Right click anywhere on your desktop

Enable HydraVision™ technology in the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.

a. Right click anywhere on your desktop

b. Left click on the AMD VISION Engine Control Center (or AMD Catalyst Control Center™ software) option

c. Click on the HydraVision™ technology Menu option (You may need to download HydraVision™ technology at: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/hydravision.aspx)

d. Select the HydraGrid option to enable grids that control where applications appear on your display.

e. Select the Desktop Manager option to control where windows appear and how they are maximized across multiple displays.

f. Select the Multi Desktop option to enable up to 9 virtual desktops.

g. Click Apply when finished.

Setup power controls in AMD VISION Engine Control Center to make sure that you meet your daily power requirements.

a. Right click anywhere on your desktop

b. Left click on the AMD VISION Engine Control Center (or AMD Catalyst Control Center™ software) option

c. Click on the Preferences button and confirm that you are in Advanced View

d. Click on the Power group in the left navigation pane

e. Click on PowerPlay technology Tab

Customize your own preset values for specific games, videos or any visual intensive applications.

a. Right click anywhere on your desktop

b. Left click on the AMD VISION Engine Control Center (or AMD Catalyst Control Center™ software) option

c. Click on the Preferences button and confirm that you are in advanced view

d. Click on the Preset group in the left navigation pane

e. Click on Add Preset Tab

f. In the Pop-Up window, you will see 4 sections of information to be supplied.

g. In the “Name” section, please fill with an easy-to-recognize name for the Preset (e.g. Game-Dirt 3)

h. In the “Location” section, please check the places you want to see the Preset.

i. And you can also assign hotkeys to activate them in the “Hotkeys” section.

j. Assign the application you want to use the customized Preset by check the checkbox in “Application” section and choose correct link to point to that.

k. Click Apply.

For certain types of applications, you may want them to run with different graphic or video settings. For example, you may want to run your 3D games in higher configuration settings but most of the time you may prefer to save your battery life in a mobile laptop setting. AMD VISION Engine Control Center gives you the option to build your own configurations into different presets and enable them at one click.

1. AMD Steady Video is a technology designed to eliminate shakes and jitters during the playback of home video. Users may turn on this technology via the AMD Catalyst Control Center™ or the VISION Engine Control Center application. AMD Steady Video will work with content that can run on Adobe® Flash® Player 10.2 (and later versions) or on any player which has been programed to use AMD’s decode acceleration (DXVA) engine. AMD Steady Video is not designed to (a) isolate overlays, logos or captions, or (b) improve the playback of letter boxed, premium/commercial, or interlaced content. AMD Steady Video is only recommended for use with videos that contain unwanted shakes and jitters

2. AMD Radeon™ Dual Graphics requires an AMD A-Series APU plus an AMD Radeon™ discrete graphics configuration and is available on Windows® 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows® 7 Home Premium, and/or Windows® 7 Home Basic OS. Linux OS supports manual switching which requires restart of X-Server to engage and/or disengage the discrete graphics processor for dual graphics capabilities. With AMD Radeon™ Dual Graphics, full enablement of all discrete graphics video and display features may not be supported on all systems and may depend on the master device to which the display is connected. AMD Radeon™ “D” series and AMD Radeon™ “A2” Dual Graphics series and AMD Radeon™ “G” series and AMD Radeon™ “G2” Dual Graphics series do not support AMD Eyefinity technology Check with your component or system manufacturer for specific mode capabilities and supported technologies..

3. Testing done in AMD Performance Labs using 3DMark Vantage – Performance Benchmark, to represent visual performance. The AMD A6 APU-based systems scored 2947 marks; the addition of an AMD Radeon HD 6570 discrete GPU in dual graphics mode scored 7180 marks. Scores are rounded to the nearest whole mark. The AMD A6 Dual Graphics-based system consists of an AMD Quad-Core A6-3650 APU with AMD Radeon™ HD 6610D2 Dual Graphics (AMD A6-3650 with AMD Radeon™ HD 6530 Discrete-Class graphics plus AMD Radeon™ HD 6570 discrete graphics), 8GB DDR3-1600 system memory, a Real SSD C300 hard drive (256G) and Microsoft Windows Ultimate 64-bit.

4. AMD CrossFireX™ technology requires an AMD CrossFireX Ready motherboard, an AMD CrossFireX™ Bridge Interconnect (for each additional graphics card) and may require a specialized power supply.

5. AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL™ or DirectCompute (including AMD’s Universal Video Decoder (UVD)). Not all products have all features and full enablement of some capabilities and may require complementary products.

6. AMD HD3D is a technology designed to enable stereoscopic 3D support in games, movies and/or photos. Requires 3D stereo drivers, glasses, and display. Not all features may be supported on all components or systems – check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.
