Wedding invitations traditionally include a few different cards and a whole lot of information. If you’re planning a wedding and want to cut down on the amount of paper you send, a wedding website is the perfect way to communi-cate with your guests.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE ON THE INVITATION
All basic information about your wed-ding needs to be on the invitation. This includes the full names of the bride and groom to be, the location of the wedding and the date and time it’ll take place. Traditionally, your parent’s na mes would also be included, but if you’re paying for your own wedding, you can take or leave this tradition. Include the URL to
your wedding website so people know how to access it.
RSVP CARDSYour guests need a way to tell you
whether or not they can make it to your wedding. You can include this with your invitation, or have people respond on your website. Both options are accept-able, but keep in mind that some of your older guests may not understand the lack of a response card.
What to put on your wedding websiteUse the website to let your guests
know about accommodations, the gift registry and directions to the venue. You can also include some photos of the two of you, introduce guests to your wed-ding party or add local fun facts for people from out of town.

A formal, or prom, is a major social event that has to be planned several months in advance. Here are 10 things all you girls out there need to think about before your big day.
Are you thinking about renting, buying or making your outfit? Incident ally, you don’t necessarily
be just as elegant. Dare to be original!2. ShoesFlat shoes or strappy high heels?
What ever your choice, make sure they’re comfortable, especially if you want to dance the night away.
3. Beauty careHairstyle, makeup, manicure and
waxing: make your appointments as soon as possible. Are you worried or uncertain about a new look?
Experiment a few weeks in advance.4. JewelryEverything goes. Tasteful hairpins,
earrings, necklaces and bracelets
5. AccessoriesA small handbag is essential for car-
rying small items such as mascara and lipstick. After all, you’ll probably want to touch up your makeup during the evening.
6. Flowers
touch to your outfit, whether it’s tucked into your hair or worn on the wrist. Check with your date; maybe he’s already thought about this!
7. SouvenirsWould you like to immortalize this
wonderful moment in your life? Enlist
the services of a professional photog-rapher for some great shots.
8. Your dateAre you planning to go with a date
or with girlfriends? If you opt for the
colours you’ll be wearing so he can
yours.9. ArrivalPlan with your friends how you’re
going to get to the prom. If you want to make a grand en trance, book a limo.
10. Return homeOnce the evening is over, will you
call a taxi or ask someone to pick you up? Think about it and make plans ahead of time.
Now you’re ready for an un forgettable evening and you can just re lax and enjoy the anticipation.

If you’re getting mar-ried, but the thought of a traditional wedding recep-tion leaves you cold, try one of these three fun alternatives:
BRUNCH RECEPTION
For early birds, a morn-ing ceremony and brunch reception is the way to go. Ask your preferred break-fast spot to cater and then serve all of the breakfast classics with espresso drinks to wake your guests up. Just because it’s early in the day doesn’t mean you have to have a dry wedding — mimosas any-one?
BACKYARD BARBEQUE
If you prefer to spend your Saturday nights drinking beer and hang-ing out with friends, why not have a backyard wed-ding? Find a caterer that specializes in barbeque and get dirty with some ribs or pulled pork. Serve local craft beers and set up some old-fashioned lawn games.
COCKTAIL PARTY
bore but still want to dance the night away? Host a cocktail party! Your venue can pass around lots of appetizers and you can create a sig-nature cocktail for the night. With this type of reception you can use a smaller space to accom-modate your guests.
A wedding reception that breaks with tradition can be more memorable, festive and affordable than the standard dinner and dancing that follows most nuptials. Your options are limited only by your imagination.
