The AEM V2 intake system features a revolutionary breakthrough in inlet system design that delivers maximum power throughout the entire powerband of the engine.

AEM has always designed its air intake systems to deliver maximum torque and power in the engine’s lower-rpm region because that is where most daily driving occurs. This creates a compromise because the operating frequency of the pipe is fixed, and does not change with rpm, causing the sound wave to be ineffectual when it is not in sync with engine speed.

The AEM V2 intake system enhances power throughout the entire rpm band by using sound wave management. By having a primary tube and a secondary tube, the V2 Cold Air system has all of the benefits of the standard AEM Cold Air, while being tuned to generate more power over a wider powerband, by generating multiple frequency sound waves within the inlet system. It works by generating a primary wave with a specific frequency that is transmitted along the length of the inlet duct and coincides with the opening of the inlet valve. As this sound wave traverses the end of the duct, a secondary (second order) wave is sent in the reverse direction of the primary wave. This secondary wave is traveling toward the inlet valve and when it opens, helps to fill the cylinder.

Essentially, what this means is that our engineers found a way to create multiple wave frequencies within the tubes to coincide with the inlet valve timing events throughout a broad rpm spectrum. We have realized significant power gains—even over our existing air intake systems—with this design. We are confident that this design is the most sophisticated, and power producing, on the market.

At AEM we accept no compromise when it comes to making power. This commitment to making the best performance products on the market is what lead to the AEM V2 Intake System, and is what will keep us at the forefront of quality and innovation.

Read and understand these instructions BEFORE attempting to install this product.

1) Getting Started a) Make sure vehicle is parked on a level surface. b) Set parking brake. Install rear wheel chocks. c) If engine has run with in the past two hours let it cool down..

2) Removal of the Stock Air Intake System

a) Loosen the hose clamp on the throttle body and disconnect the PCV hose from the intake tube.

b) Disconnect the intake tube from the throttle body.

c) Unclip the air filter box and remove the intake tube from the engine bay. Remove the air filter.

d) Remove the three bolts holding the other half of the air filter box. Unclip the box from the air inlet tube and remove the assembly from the engine bay.

3) Installation of the AEM V2 Intake System.

.

a) Remove the lower front bolt from the air box backing plate as shown in the picture.

b) Install the rubber mount in the hole left from step a.

c) Install the silicone coupler on to the throttle body. Place the hose clamps in place, do not tighten them until instructed to do so.

d) Some non-California vehicles are equipped with an air injection hose leading from the exhaust to the stock inlet pipe. This hose must be re-connected to the AEM Cold Air inlet pipe. If your vehicle is not equipped with this hose use the 5/8” cap to plug the fitting on the AEM inlet pipe

f) Insert the intake pipe into the engine bay. Place the end of the intake pipe into the silicone coupler on the throttle body. Do not tighten the hose clamps. Install the 3/8” hose and hose clamps from the pcv tube to the nipple on the intake pipe as shown.

g) Line up the bracket on the pipe with the rubber mount. Install the nut and washer according to the diagram below.

h) Position the pipe in the engine bay so that no part of it touches the car. After proper fitment has been achieved, tighten the hose clamps on the throttle body and tighten the nut on the rubber mount.

Pipe Bracket

e) From inside the left wheelwell, cut a section out of the splash guard to allow clearance of the intake pipe.

k) Position the inlet pipes for best fitment. Be sure that the pipes or any other components do not contact any part of the vehicle. Tighten the rubber mount, all bolts and hose clamps. Due to the large diameter pipe used in this kit, proper adjustment is critical for clearance, and readjustment may be necessary to prevent contact. Check for proper hood clearance. Re-adjust pipes if necessary.

4) Re-Assemble the vehicle. a) Inspect the engine bay for any loose tools and check that all fasteners that were moved or

removed are properly tight. b) Start engine and perform a final inspection before driving the vehicle.

Note: This AEM V2 Cold Air System is not compatible with an Air Bypass Valve.

i) Rotate the horn bracket forward out of the way of the intake pipe.

j) Install the air filter on the end of the intake pipe.
