What will be presented?
• The way to a new electronic data collection system in Hungary– Challenges
– Development
– Main features

– Activity management unit (TIR-client)
– Questionnaire designer (QD)
• Switch from KSH-XML to KSH-ELEKTRA
3
Challenges
Data users
businesses, national and international GOs and NGOs, research, natural persons etc.
Data providers
(in particular businesses)
Statistical services
detailed and quality data; timeliness is essential
lower cost and less administrative burden, simplification or ‘no’
statistics
STATISTICS
decreasing human and financial resources
new data collection techniques, new data sources,
integration of data setsetc.

Development - Milestones
• HCSO strategy for 2009-2012
• September 2009 Planning started
• 4th quarter of 2010 Work started
• November 2011 Development finished
• December 2011 – Testing and fine-tuning
• Spring 2012 – Reconsideration
• 2 October 2012 – Test operation
5
• based on the experiences of KSH-XML system• developing a modern web-based electronic data collection system, that
simplifies data sending, exceeds the limitations of XML and shortens processing period until dissemination– updated ASP
• nicer and ergonomic outlook, user-friendliness• on-line application• more integrated functions
– schedule and calendar– data (form) export-import
• simple access to other statistical collection tools (Intrastat )• accessibility via government portal (natural persons)
– renewed activity management unit – questionnaire designer operating on graphical basis
• possibility to extend further
