FEAST OF GOD’S CHURCH B RANSON, Mo.—Sept. 28 through Oct. 5, 2015, another delightful, spiritually rewarding Feast of Tab- ernacles and Great Last Day at the Westgate Branson Woods Resort in Branson occurred with brethren known as God’s Worldwide Church, now called simply God’s Church. Sermons previously given by the late General Pastor Robert Roen- spies were played for services as fol- lows: A time of utopia On the Feast of Tabernacles Mr. Roenspies, in a sermon given 19 years ago, explained why the mil- lennial period will be one of a human utopia where human beings would be their brother’s keeper. Satan and his devils had been rul- ing and controlling events on earth for about 6,000 years and will be put away for 1,000 years, during which time the good angels will be ruling and controlling events on earth. Also, during that same period, spiritual Israel, Christ’s Bride com- posed of 144,000 sealed firstfruits (Revelation 14:4), will receive teaching/training from our Father the Great God and His Son Jesus Christ. This will prepare them to care for the billions of human beings, including all ancient physical Is- rael, who will be made alive at the time of the second resurrection and comprise the great harvest of hu- manity during a time when there will be no more curse. Imagine you are among the bil- lions of human beings who awake in that second resurrection. What do you know about God’s Sabbath? What do you know about any of God’s holy days? What will you learn and come to understand during that first year after that resur- rection occurs? First holy days in the Kingdom During the Sabbath between the Feast of Tabernacles and the Great Last Day, Mr. Roenspies explained God’s answers to those very ques- tions in the sermon titled “First Holy Days in God’s Kingdom.” On the Eighth Day Mr. Roen- spies, in another sermon given 19 years ago, explained how knowl- edge of God’s true plan allows one to see that in the Great Day, the Last Day, the Eighth Day, also known as the Great Last Day, all Israel, all mankind, will be saved and Satan By Dixon Cartwright A Church of God member who works for the Department of Homeland Security, based in Washington, D.C., says the DHS and other federal law-enforcement agen- cies have been pretty effective in pre- venting terrorist attacks since Sept. 11, 2001. “Every time we intercept or pre- vent something, we don’t hear about it right off the bat,” he said. “It doesn’t really make the news. But there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes.” The church member, John Doe (not his real name), attended a Feast of Tabernacles site this year with his wife. The Does happened to make the acquaintance of a writer for THE JOURNAL at one of the four sites spon- sored by the Church of God Big Sandy. Critical questions The JOURNAL writer questioned Mr. Doe about his employer, including questions frequently asked by critics of the agency. For example, some critics say Homeland Security, its very existence, means Americans are less free than they were before its establishment in 2003. The cabinet-level department be- gan two years after the terrorist attacks of 2001 to ensure that the American homeland is safe, secure and resistant to terrorism and other hazards and to minimize the damage from attacks that do occur. Freedom vs. safety Is safety for less freedom a good trade-off, THE JOURNAL asked Mr. Doe. After all, the more provisions— that is, laws—that are enacted to pro- tect people the less individual free- dom they have. “Depends on what you’re sacrific- ing,” Mr. Doe replied, “what you’re talking about giving up. I don’t know how really to address that. Do you really think the people would prefer we do nothing?” Many of the restrictions are “aimed at certain people,” he continued. “It’s not just a blanket thing to cover every- thing. “If you’re talking about wiretaps, they’re not supposed to be used for everyone or our neighbor next door. They’re to be aimed at certain groups of people who are known drug deal- ers, terrorists, criminals, etc. They’re specifically aimed at that.” Legal marijuana So does Mr. Doe think the trend in this country to legalize or at least decriminalize drugs, including mari- juana, is a good idea? “I don’t think they should legalize all drugs. You can abuse them, and I don’t think they’re going to do away with the drug laws.” Even though some states are legal- izing pot, “which I don’t understand at all,” Mr. Doe said, “you do have sol- diers coming back home with PTSD TheJournal News of the Churches of God 1 Bob Gerringer is anxious for AC alumni to finalize their reunion plans 3 Brian Harris wonders why God would allow the 9/11 and Paris terrorist attacks 4 THE JOURNAL’s history series continues with the final words of David Jon Hill 16 THE JOURNAL reports on the 13th One God Seminar, back in Seattle for 2015 Vol. XIX, No. 10 Founded 1997 Issue No. 178 (Nov. 30, 2015) Church-member Department of Homeland Security employee says DHS keeps Americans safe, secure The writer is publisher of THE JOUR- NAL and a 1969 graduate of Ambas- sador College, Big Sandy. 2 THE JOURNAL Issue No. 178 (Nov. 30, 2015)

Mr. Botha is sincerely wrong

Ido not doubt Daniel Botha’s sin-cerity regarding his personal opin-ion concerning immigrants and

refugees as expressed in THE JOURNAL

(issue No. 177).Conceivably, in an ideal world, the

approach Mr. Botha espouses wouldwork, yet there has never been an idealworld full of ideal people living for thebetterment of mankind. That unlikelysort of fantasy land, called Utopia, cannever exist on earth, latter-day prophetsand prognosticators notwithstanding.

I submit that idealized schemes, posit-ed by anonymous biblical writers, hardlyqualify as unquestioning compositions tobe somehow obligatory upon believers. Isubmit that to commit to such proposals,as I understand Mr. Botha’s presenta-tion, would be more than naïve. It wouldbe downright dangerous.

Further, I take exception to being lec-tured to with rhetorical guilt trips, moralsermonizing and inept political groundsfor creating open borders for illegal immi-grants to flood America. Immigrants ofwhatever stripe primarily come to Amer-ica for freedom and opportunity, certainlynot because “God had other plans.”

Moreover, the popular misguidednotion that America is a “land of immi-grants” is a gross political error. Even bydefinition, those born in a land aredefined as natives thereof, and most ofus in America are, in fact, as am I,Native Americans, not immigrants.

Such idealism naturally makes us feelgood, often even superior, but it shouldbe tempered with reality. Reality tells usto beware putting ourselves (and ourloved ones) in harm’s way, yet many goforward just the same, and they havepaid the price.

This nation, more than any other na-tion ever, in spite of her alleged and fre-quently misconstrued failings, is not evil.America does take care of the strangerand the poor, does feed the hungry, eventhe hungry of other nations, does bind upthe wounded, does encourage the broken-hearted, and does protect the innocent.

More can be done, mistakes havebeen made, but we should never forgetcaring, generous Americans from allwalks of life—and Christian missionar-ies, many who have suffered horribly fortheir kindnesses.

Here’s an idea: Many Sabbatarians fastone whole day in a year, one day. Whynot take some cash money, buy food andbring it to a volunteer soup kitchen onthat very same day instead of sittingaround thinking or talking about doingthe right thing or sleeping the day away?

That simple act of kindness wouldhelp keep our minds off our own belliesand help fill the belly of the stranger. That is the fast God, not man, has cho-sen (Isaiah 58:5-8).

F. Paul HaneyKensington, Conn.

Mr. Botha’s reasonable approachDaniel Botha’s points are well made

[see “Volunteers Needed for Our Refu-gee Problem” in issue No. 177], sowhy the fear-and-denial reaction? It’shard to imagine how a sermon promot-ing compassion toward refugees couldbe even faintly controversial in aChristian community.

Jesus himself, according to the Gospelnarrative, was a refugee in Egypt for partof his childhood. Does anyone think theEgyptian authorities should have turnedhis parents away at the border or de-manded that they abandon their Jewishculture before being granted entry?

Mr. Botha’s comments are in factquite moderate, and yet he seems tohave reaped the whirlwind. Perhaps weall need to reconnect with some of thosecore values that we so loudly proclaim.

Gavin Rumneyotagosh.blogspot.com

Auckland, New Zealand

Mr. Botha’s balanced viewI didn’t get to hear Daniel Botha’s

Feast of Tabernacles sermon on refu-gees, but I was blessed to read hisJOURNAL article [about the “refugeeproblem” in issue No. 177].

Mr. Botha seems to have a good mac-roview of the world today since he haslived in and visited many places. For thatreason he is apparently not influenced by

the nationalism and tribalism that seducesso many in the Church of God.

Instead, Mr. Botha seems able to putthe world’s ugliness into a balanced con-text that the ecclesia is supposed to bean assembly of ambassadors who followJesus’ reminder that His Kingdom is notof this age.

And, while this recognition by Mr.Botha enables him to preach God’s loveas found in Matthew 5-7, my guess isthat it will reduce his invitations topreach in certain Church of God circleswhere patriotic provincialism overshad-ows promoting the gospel of Jesus.

Wes WhiteBig Sandy, Texas

I clapped for Mr. BothaDaniel Botha’s Feast of Tabernacles

refugee sermon, printed in a recent JOUR-NAL [No. 177], was personal to me. It re-minded me of my husband, Kenneth, ashe eagerly looked forward to the fulfill-

ment of this part of God’s plan. He diedon the Last Great Day several years ago.

The immigration and refugee prob-lem is enormous and probably unsolv-able until Christ returns. Mr. Bothaknows this, and his focus wasn’t on theworldwide problem but on what isexpected of Christians on a local level.

The written world is powerful, but itcan’t compare to the intense, heartfeltempathy Mr. Botha has for these unfor-tunate people.

He emphasized that prayer is power-ful, and throughout the Bible situationschanged when God’s people prayed. Heis still the same God!

Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:34-40 howwe are to treat people among us, includingstrangers. No matter who we are or whatwe have, we have something to give.Perhaps it’s just a smile or a kind word.

How we respond now may indicate ifwe are prayerfully and physically pre-pared to meet the challenge.

Agreeing with Mr. Botha, I clappedwhen he finished. So did others.

Have we forgotten the Golden Rule?Matthew 7:12 reminds us to do unto oth-ers as we would have them do unto us.

Donna WeeseBig Sandy, Texas

Just what do KobayashiMaru critics mean?

Well, I said it was controversial. Ishall answer in the order as put forth inissue 176 of THE JOURNAL.

[See “Just What Do You Mean Koba-yashi Maru?” by Mr. Wansley in theAug. 31, 2015, issue. In issue No. 177three letter writers wrote critically ofMr. Wansley’s opinions.]

To Bob Cronin: The Dead SeaScrolls (DSS) contain many canonicalbooks including Isaiah along with sever-al noncanon and nonreligious workspertaining to everyday things.

The solar calendar detailed amongthe DSS can be inferred from many bib-lical references such as the Flood inGenesis and days of arrival and decamp-ment in Exodus as detailed by Jaubertand VanderKam.

Neither the lunar nor solar calendarsis directly laid out in canonical Scrip-ture. If you want direct biblical proof ofeither, you will have to scrap both.

To Brian Crook: Three hundredsixty-four days times 294 years equals

107,016 days. This is 293years of 364 days plus the 52

intercalated weeks (of 364days) in the cycle.

Further, 365.2422days of a solar yeartimes 293 years equals

107,015.9646. This re-sults in the intercalated

364-day calendar being al-most 52 minutes (50.976)longer than the actual solaryear over one cycle.

In keeping with every-thing built on sevens, 7 cy-cles comes to 2,058 years

(ominous, eh?) over which accumulatesjust less than 6 hours out of kilter.

The true solar year was measured inthe year 2000 as being 365.2421897, butby 2010 it had lessened to 365.2421891.It is not beyond the realm of reason toconsider the possibility that at the time ofthe Exodus the year was 365.24232 andthus the intercalated solar calendarwould be in precise alignment.

The existence of the 364-day calen-dar is a matter of historical record. Myintercalation method could be a case ofapophenia, but the numbers add upawfully well.

As for the lunar calendar, modern sci-ence has also revealed that the moon isgradually moving away from earth andthat earth is gradually moving awayfrom the sun.

Looking back in time, at some pointthis may have had the planets better cal-

ibrated to an original calendar of 360days that needed no intercalation.

Also, the rotation of the earth is slow-ing down at a rather significant expo-nential rate such that 4,000 years fromnow the moon will be closer to 29 days’average lunation as seen from earth. In8,000 years it will be closer to 27.5 days.

Thus, some 6,000 years ago it is quitepossible the average lunation was closeto 30 days even. Lacking such a primor-dial calibration of the heavens, noknown practical calendar, secular orliturgical, is without the need for interca-lation. This should give pause to claimsof any calendar’s divine inspiration.

To David Moffitt: (1) I would never“demonize” the Levitical priesthood.Hillel II was a rabbi of the rabbinicalpriesthood and thus a descendant of thePharisaical priesthood.

The Sadducees were the legitimatepriesthood at the time, and the Phariseesusurped temple (calendar) authority in thewake of the Hellenic rule that followedthe deposing of Onias III in 175 BC.

(2) There is no reason the angel couldnot have appeared that evening and saidto the shepherds “. . . is born, this day. . .” and not “is being born at this verymoment.”

(3) A.D. 33 aligns best astronomical-ly with the Passover full moon of thePharisees and is supported by mostscholars over A.D. 31, etc.

(4) The orthodox time frame for thesix trials was impossible from a logisti-cal point of view even if they were justhearings.

As to your other rebuttals, Jaubert doesan excellent and unassailable job of bibli-cal scholarship in these areas and I wouldrecommend her book. Then we can talk.

Thanks for the editsIn issue No. 177 of THE JOURNAL you

published my article “Akedah, Abra-ham’s Three-Day Nightmare, ParallelsTomb Chronology.”

I really feel that I need to thank fromthe bottom of my heart the person (youor the journalist of your team) who didthe final editing of that article.

I worked on the original of the articlefor months while I was researching it.That is to say that I knew it very well.Yet when I started to read it in THE

JOURNAL I was completely surprised bythe brilliant alterations that were doneon my original text.

It was so interesting to read that I for-got that I was the author. What a greatjob you did.

Difficult scriptureI have attended Jehovah’s Witness

meetings a few times. There is a lack offreedom. They list Colossians 1:16 intheir official nonacceptance of theSabbath.

Does Colossians 1:16 do away withthe Sabbath? Does it do away with the

festivals? Does it do away with food?Mr. Armstrong had trouble with this

scripture, but a good explanation ap-peared in The Good News that showed itwas mainly to “disregard outside criti-cism,” not necessarily to pay attention tooutsiders about details. It was not direct-ly about the Sabbath, which the Colos-sians were keeping.

People who work for uson the Sabbath

In Jan Aaron Young’s articles in THE

JOURNAL he has criticized church mem-bers for eating out in restaurants on theweekly and annual sabbaths.

“Some church members still eat inrestaurants on annual Sabbaths (includ-ing the weekly Sabbath),” he wrote.“God says one thing and they do theopposite!”

My question to Mr. Young is this:Have you told UPS or FedEx if youreceive packages on the Sabbath not todeliver them to your residence till thefollowing Monday because you don’twant them working for you on Saturday?

Have you contacted the U.S. PostalService and told them not to deliver mailto your address on the Sabbath?

These people are working for usunless we stop mail delivery to ourhomes.

This letter is not meant to agree ordisagree with your article but to pointout that there are other services we usewithout realizing it.

Final attemptThis is presented to God’s people

because we are suffering serious issuesbecause we are not following the rightlaws in this physical world.

For 33-plus years in the COG, I’veseen the results of these bad decisions, and this is my final attempt to presentwhat we need to understand on this issueif we do not want to continue sufferingneedlessly.

I send this in love and in prayer andin hope that we will take up the standardand shine our lights on this issue andprepare for the future.

This is prepared for the general pub-lic for the most part, but certainly

addresses the COG. Please realize thebasic nature of some of the info, butdon’t underestimate it, because manyhave forgotten it. See thegodkind.org/health.html. Jeff Maehr

Why Mr. Obama maybe America’s last president

As I pointed out by E-mail to some ofthe leaders of and in the most sound-minded COG groups (on the 11-11-2015, 70th anniversary of World WarII), if Jesus Christ returns on the nextFeast of Trumpets preceded by 1,335days, then Barack Obama may be thelast American president.

The reason is that most of the presi-dential election process would fall dur-ing the Tribulation. The 1,335 dayswould start two days after the Feb. 1,2016, 82nd anniversary of The PlainTruth magazine containing editor Her-bert W. Armstrong’s cover story “Is aWorld Dictator About to Appear?”

The Tribulation would start on April18, 2016, which is Nisan 10, the day thePassover lamb was selected for slaugh-ter—and happens to be the 110thanniversary of the April 18, 1906, GreatSan Francisco earthquake, which mightindicate when the Great CaliforniaEarthquake will occur.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—As a child Ihad an image of God as an oldman in the sky watching every-

thing I did and taking notes. Any mis-take was recorded, and I learned fromreligion teachers that even badthoughts would count against me.

Sometimes I heard that God lovedme, but I certainly did not reallybelieve this the way I do now. I wascertain that I had to work very hard toget an A in life just as I worked to getan A in phonics or arithmetic.

Praying to be good?Back then I believed that praying

was part of what I had to do in order tobe good. I did not understand thatprayer could be a dialogue with God.

My concept of prayer was limited, and I mainly recited prayers I learnedin church, at home or in religion classat school.

I thought I had tobe good through myown effort. I had tofollow the rules Godmade and work onhaving only nicethoughts.

I did not un-derstand that I couldask for and receivehelp in doing so.

Even now I realize that I sometimessee God as a harsh judge. I still believeI must work very hard to be goodenough to be acceptable to Him.

I sometimes forget that He is there

for me and will be willing to providegrace, mercy and healing if I remem-ber to turn to Him and share my strug-gles. I can lapse into acting as if myown effort can make me good enoughfor God.

I understand that God knows myheart and my intentions better than

I know themmyself. This isexpressed beau-t i ful ly in thefirst 4 verses ofPsalm 139:

“O LORD, Youhave searchedme and knownme. You knowmy sitting downand my rising

up; You understand my thought afaroff. You comprehend my path and mylying down, and are acquainted withall my ways. For there is not a word onmy tongue, but behold, O LORD, Youknow it altogether.”

What we shareEven though God knows us, I

believe the act of our sharing thingswith Him is meaningful. Yet, some-times when I turn to God in prayer, Imay fail to mention the very thingsthat have been weighing heavily onmy mind and heart. I act as if God

won’t know about my mistakes andwrong attitudes and failings unless Ishare them.

I sometimes present to God onlythose issues or problems that I alreadyhave a handle on. I feel uncomfortablebringing my entire messy self beforeHim.

It’s a funny thing too, because inmany cases God does not help mewith those things I withhold fromprayer. God wants us to have free willand does not generally intrude onareas of our lives unless invited.

He can do so if He chooses, ofcourse, like He did with Paul on theroad to Damascus (Acts 9:3-9). In myexperience God often does not inter-vene in this way but in a much gentlerway and often only when we inviteHim into an area of our lives.

Hesitant to let goSometimes we are aware of things

in our lives that need to change orthings we need to repent of. Some ofthese are things we are attached to oruse as defenses.

For example, I might overeat whenstressed but don’ttalk to God aboutthat because Imay secretly fearthis will be takenaway and I willbe left with noway to cope.

We may fearwhat will happen

if we really let go of these shortcom-ings. Even while we pray for God’swill, we may fail to yield the thingsthat most need to change, often hold-ing onto them for dear life.

BIG SANDY, Texas—Many Bi-ble students enjoy reading thebook of Hebrews and how it

explains some of the beautiful writ-ings of the Old Testament.

One example of this scenario ishow Hebrews explains the informa-tion about the tabernacle and thepriesthood in the book of Exodus.

Before we look at some of the vers-es in Hebrews let’s look at how peoplefrequently outline the book of Exodus.

Many people identify two mainsections of Exodus:

“Redemption from Egypt,” Ex-odus 1-18.

“Covenant with God,” Exodus19-40.

Many people identify three areas ofthe Mosaic Covenant:

The commandments in Exodus20:1-17.

The judgments in Exodus 21-23.The ordinances in Exodus 25-31.

Many people identify four classifi-cations of the ordinances:

The ark in Exodus 25:10-22.The tabernacle in Exodus 25-27.The priesthood in Exodus 28-30.The Urim and Thummin in Exo-

dus 28:30.

Materials for the tabernacleExodus 25:1-9 mentions some of

the materials for the tabernacle. Let’snotice a few ideas in this section.

God wanted cheerful giving.“Speak to the children of Israel, that

they bring Me an offering. From ev-eryone who gives it willingly withhis heart you shall take My offering”(Exodus 25:2).

God wanted to dwell among Hispeople.

“Let them make Me a sanctuary, that

I may dwell among them” (verse 8).God gave a specific pattern.“According to all that I show you,

that is, the pattern of the tabernacleand the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it” (verse 9).

Specific meeting placeIn the section discussing the taber-

nacle, the Bible also mentions the ark(Exodus 25:10:22), called theark of the testimony, the ark of thecovenant, andthe ark of God.

One func-tion of the arkwas to indicatethe location for Godto meet with the people.

“And there I will meet withyou, and I will speak with youfrom above the mercy seat, frombetween the two cherubim which areon the ark of the Testimony, about ev-erything which I will give you in com-mandment to the children of Israel”(verse 22).

This concept is repeated in Leviti-cus 16:2 and Numbers 7:89.

Chosen priesthoodWhen God designated Aaron and

his sons to serve as priests, He outlinedspecial garments for them to wear (Exo-dus 28) and a special way for them tobe consecrated (Exodus 29).

God emphasized the importance ofthe priests meeting with God at thedoor of the tabernacle.

Exodus 29:42-43: “This shall be acontinual burnt offering throughoutyour generations at the door of thetabernacle of meeting before theLORD. where I will meet you to speakwith you.

“And there I will meet with thechildren of Israel, and the tabernacleshall be sanctified by My glory.”

The veil was tornDuring the time of King David God

communicated that it was time for thetabernacle to be replaced by a temple(2 Samuel 7:1-7). Thus a temple (oftencalled Solomon’s temple) was built.

Years later another temple (oftencalled Herod’s temple) was erected.

Herod’s temple was the templewhere Jesus taught (Mat-

thew 26:55). Herod’stemple was the loca-tion of the veil in the

Holy Place thatwas torn whenthe Messiah died.

“And Jesus criedout again with aloud voice, and

yielded up His spir-it. Then, behold, theveil of the templewas torn in twofrom top to bottom;and the earth quaked,

and the rocks were split” (Matthew27:50-51)

Better priesthood and tabernacleJesus Christ became the High Priest

and the Tabernacle.Notice a few scriptures about the

High Priest:Hebrews 2:17: “Therefore, in all

things He had to be made like Hisbrethren, that He might be a mercifuland faithful High Priest in things per-taining to God, to make propitiationfor the sins of the people.”

Hebrews 4:14-15: “Seeing then thatwe have a great High Priest who haspassed through the heavens, Jesus theSon of God, let us hold fast our con-fession. For we do not have a HighPriest who cannot sympathize withour weaknesses, but was in all pointstempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Hebrews 8:1-2: “Now this is the

Tabernacle and priesthood are intertwined

MILTON KEYNES, En-gland—In 2013 I pub-lished a book called Com-

fort My People, Saith your God,which I am following up with aseries of 12 excerpts and points ofinterest from the book.

Comfort is seen as soothing balmto the afflicted human spirit, givenwithin safe boundaries. While com-fort doesn’t solve a problem, it givesa sense of well-being with safety, belonging and acceptance, andhence the energy to find solutions. This fifth excerpt is the second partabout family.

When people grow up within thefamily, experiencing safety, belong-

ing and acceptance within estab-lished boundaries, they develop intheir ability to relate to others.

Great giftOne of the

greatest giftsparents cangive their chil-dren is self-esteem, not tobe confusedwith defianceor aggression.

Self-esteemis a realisticsense of one’s own value. Whenpeople have a sense of their ownvalue, they tend to be “generative,”but depression established in child-hood will tend to lead either toaggression on the one hand or lackof generativity on the other.

Generativity, you may remember, develops a career and seeks out ful-filling experiences.

Desire to please is vital tool

OCEANSIDE, Calif.—As youmay realize, the French peo-ple are part of the descendant

nations of an-cient Israel cho-sen by God toset the world aright example.

Along withthe United States,Britain, Canada,Australia, NewZealand and sev-eral nations ofWes te rn andNorthwesternEurope, as well as Ireland and themodern state of Israel, we have beengiven world dominance. But we arefollowing the same destructive path asour ancestors.

The Sept. 11, 2001, attack assault-ed the older generation’s assumptionthat the American homeland was pro-tected by God and that somehow fairwarning would be given in time toavert such a tragic event.

Many from the British Common-wealth and other nations were lost thatterrible day of the World Trade Centerand Pentagon terrorist attacks.

Some may have stopped to look fora deeper meaning behind the tragedy, but many it seems did not. Within afew short years the “liar loan” mort-gage scandal broke.

Up to 90 percent of worthless homemortgages provided during the hous-ing boom had been bundled intoTriple A bonds, and 80 percent ofthose were sold around the world, causing the potential failure of mostmajor banks and temporarily crip-pling the world economy.

Dualistic propheciesMany Bible prophecies are dual in

nature, with an early and later fulfill-ment relating to today’s descendants.Because God does not change, Hiswarnings to us remain the same as Hiswarnings to ancient Israel.

If you break His commandments,God says He also “will do this to you:I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shallconsume the eyes and cause sorrow ofheart. And you shall sow your seed invain, for your enemies shall eat it”(Leviticus 26:16).

SHINGLETOWN, Calif.—Thefirst time I met Herbert W. Arm-strong, founder of the Radio

Church of God, I was 6 years old. Mymother had been a Seventh-dayAdventist but had become disillu-sioned with the SDAs and transferredher allegiance to HWA’s RadioChurch of God, to which she listenedas often as possible.

HWA, then based in Oregon, had aspeaking engagement in Tacoma,Wash., and my mother took me withher to attend this meeting. She andLoma (Mrs. Armstrong) becamefriends at this meeting, a relationshipthat developed and continued untilLoma’s death, in 1967.

Being only 6, I didn’t have muchof an impression of HWA. My inter-est was focused on a promisedcheeseburger and chocolate malt, allfor 15 cents! HWA to me then repre-sented nothing more than anotherswitch of church by Mom. I remem-ber that he had a paunch and think-ing of him as an old man. I think hewas about 45 at the time.

Grandma wanted a beerMy next acquaintance with one who

was later to become an important in-dividual in the Radio/WorldwideChurch of God was Charles V. Doro-thy. I was 12 at the time, and he was 11.

My family was out for a summerSunday drive on the beautiful HoodCanal with Grandma in the car.Charles’ parents owned BrinnonGeneral Store. Grandma wanted abeer. We stopped at the store.

On Sunday it was illegal to sellbeer. I was too young to buy it, andCharles was too young to sell it. Heand I were to go to the same highschool in Quilcene in the fall. I thinkthe situation struck his sense of humor, and he sold me the beer! Then he cameout to the car to meet Grandma.

My two older brothers had beenaway serving in the Navy and Marinesrespectively since the beginning ofWorld War II. Besides, one brotherwas 14 years older than I and the other18 years older. I needed a brother.

Charles was an only child, and heneeded a brother. We became broth-ers. We remained, perhaps, closer thanbrothers for nearly 50 years.

He and I shared many an intellec-tual, emotional and religious experi-ence in tandem for all those years ofour brotherhood.

Charles’ untimely death from can-cer at age 62 in 1995 was a tragedy forall of us involved in his illustriouscareer, both in an out of the WCG.God’s blessing on him and all thosewho survived this great loss.

Many more references to Charleswill appear in a future installment ofthis story. His was a focal point inthese events.

He was praised and later con-demned for his part during the criticaldays of the beginning of the deaththroes of the WCG.

Charles Dorothy remains alive inmy memory.

Mom and Dr. HorsefallI drew my first breath Sept. 20,

1932. Two circumstances extant be-fore this date could have preventedthat first gulp of air.

When I was in my first trimester inmy mother’s womb, she sought med-ical help for how she was feeling. Dr.Horsefall diagnosed her as havinggallstones, and she was prepped forsurgery to remove them.

Mom wasa trained nurseand the moth-er of five pre-vious chi l -dren, but i thad been nineyears sincethe last andshe felt shewas beyondbearing at 42years of age.

My fatherfound out aboutthe situation, went to the pre-op room, phys-ically removedhis wife, pro-claimed the doctor to be an ignorantfool, and loudly stated, “She is preg-nant!”

The second circumstance camewhen I was due. The doctor had tiedMom’s legs together to prevent mybirth until he was ready to go to workthe next day.

Surviving those two incidents, Itook my first breath anyway. Thefamily used to joke that the first ofthese incidents proved why I had somuch gall.

Learning the CBAsMy mother wanted to name me

Robin De Witt because my eyes wererobin’s-egg blue. (They are actuallyhazel and often change unexpectedlyfrom blue to green.) Dad saved meagain, and I ended up as David JonHayes Hill.

I dropped the Hayes, my maternalgrandmother’s maiden name, at an earlyage and the David in 1951 when Iroomed with two other Davids. I havepreferred the simple Jon Hill ever since.

My father was 100 percent Nor-wegian, and my mother was English,Scot-Irish and French, hailing from

Massachusetts. My mother’s mother,Emmaline Elizabeth, lived with us.She was a retired schoolteacher, sowhen I was 3 she began to teach memy three R’s with a slate board.

Just for kicks, she taught me thealphabet backwards, which madeusing the dictionary difficult for mefor years later.

She taught me my multiplicationtables up to 15 times 15 and required meto use my right hand, which makes myhandwriting almost illegible to this day.

But by 4 I was reading books. Iskipped the second grade and made upfor starting late at age 7.

Principles of fulcrumMy father worked in timber as a

“bullbuck,” running a crew and doingthe scaling.

Also a good cook and an excellentcarpenter, he built several houses welived in. I helped him build those.

He taught me practical things likethe principles of fulcrum; inclinedplane and screw; and harnessing grav-ity (make it work for you). Those werethe days when children had lots ofchores and they did them or else.

Mother, as a trained nurse, wasalways caring for some relative orneighbor, living with us in the interim. So I learned the practical stuff frommy dad and the traditionally femalechores of cooking, washing, cleaninghouse, ironing, etc.

Church historySince Mother was a Seventh-day

Adventist, the whole family was. Inever liked Sabbath school with itspurple books and a wimpy Jesus with

long woman’s hair. But she changedchurches when I was 6, joining theRadio Church of God and taking meto see and listen to Mr. Armstrong. That’s when I first met him. The restof Mom’s life she was a confirmedRCG/WCG member.

Broken femurWhen I was 16 I broke my leg, the

femur, working in the woods with mybrother Pete, who ran a “gypo outfit”for logging. This kept me in bed for

six months (my sophomore year inhigh school) with a cast from myankle to my neck and pins in my leg.

My high-school superintendentbrought my studies with the requiredhomework every Monday. By Tues-day I had all the homework done andspent the rest of the time readingbooks I got from the state library forpaying the postage.

I read three or four books a day, fic-tion and nonfiction. This experienceconvinced me I did not want to be a log-ger as were my dad and two brothers.

Knowing who to loveBy this time World War II was

over. I had learned to hate the Jap-anese and Germans and love the Rus-sians and the Chinese. Now I had tolearn to love the Japanese and Ger-mans and hate the Russians and Chi-nese because of the communist threat.

This experience prepared me emo-tionally for life in the WCG.

The world of workI had jobs making money ever since

I could remember well. I made my firstcash—a $5 gold piece—clearing berrybushes from a duck pond.

I had a paper route, picked cascarabark and pinecones, cleaned theQuilcene Oyster House five days aweek after school, logged from 13 onuntil I broke my leg, and worked forthe Forest Service the summer beforeI went to college.

I had saved $850. I wanted to go tothe University of Washington inSeattle, the same as my friend andbrother Charles Dorothy.

The $850 was in my mother’s bankaccount. She offered me a deal I could

not refuse: Go to Ambassador Collegefor one year and if I didn’t like it shewould finance my whole four years atthe U Dub. (By this time HWA hadmoved his church headquarters toPasadena, Calif., and in 1947 hadfounded his college.)

The $850, of course, was Dad’smoney, not Mom’s. That’s how I gotto AC in the fall of 1951. I called thatblackmail.

I was almost 19 when I arrived atcollege, old enough by today’s re-quirements to be called an adult.Honesty had been drilled into me athome from day one. Mom asked meto maintain an open mind during thatfirst test year at AC. I think I was hon-

estly willing to accept any change ofmind I may have had at that time.

Readying for conversionMy impression of Mr. Armstrong

with my more-adult eyes changed himinto a father figure of sorts: his whitehair (though he was younger than mydad), his obvious desire to coach hisstudents, his warm smile, his dignifiedbearing. My open mind told me to lis-ten to him.

So I listened, in classes, Bible stud-ies, Sabbath sermons, radio broad-casts and reading things he’d written.

Loma, my mom’s friend, was al-ways sweet, considerate and genuine-ly interested in each of us.

By the time the Feast of Tabernaclesrolled around that first year, I wastaken by the volume of these impres-sions. Like teens around the world—idealistic, looking for something great-er than themselves for identificationand an anchor in life—I gratefullyaccepted this larger-than-life chal-lenge. I was ready for conversion.

The Feast was at Belknap Springs,Ore., in 1951. I attended with the restof the AC students, all 21 of us. Myfiancee, Audrey, also attended, travel-ing with my parents from Washington. Both Audrey and I were baptizedthere by HWA; she was sweet 16.

Better rewardWhy was I converted at this time?

Because the reward of being a mem-

ber in good standing of the RadioChurch of God would enable me toescape the terrible troubles to comeand enable me to become a real son ofGod: to be God as God is God.

My research into all other majorreligions showed their rewards as palein comparison.

Rank systemAlso at this Feast, Herman “The

Brain” Hoeh, a senior at AC that year, announced in a sermonette that HWAoccupied the office of apostle.

This was a first. HWA denied thisinitially but warmed quickly to theimplications and later publicly em-braced the rank.

With Herman’s help all the otherranks were quickly figured out: dea-coness, deacon, local elder, preaching

elder, pastor, evangelist, apostle, Jesus, God theFather. The German hadorganized us under thetop human post of apos-tle.

My $850 tuition paidfor my first year, and Iwas employed by AC formanual labor on thebuildings and groundsfor enough to pay tithes, offerings, incidentals, room and board.

I attended 21 hours ofclass and worked a min-imum of 32 hours eachweek, making top grades,

but was also a general problem be-cause of my independent nature. I wasthe reason for many new AC rulesover my entire student years.

The Gang of FourDick Armstrong, HWA’s oldest

son, and I became fast friends. Wesmoked and sang together while driv-ing around Pasadena in his convert-ible with Wayne Cole and GeorgeMeeker. We made a great quartet withDick playing his uke.

Dick and I both liked going tomovies, enjoyed similar jokes andcould talk intelligently about nearlyevery topic.

Every night Dick took the record-ings of the church’s daily radio broad-cast over to Hollywood to a stationthere that made the necessary copiesand sent them to the radio stations onwhich they were to be aired.

The guy there had a full-lengthlocker and one time showed us aphoto on the inside of the door: It wasa life-sized, front-view shot of the girlnext door—Doris Day—without astitch on! What a shock for us whohad seen every one of her movies. Oh,well, time to grow up.

Dick and I were almost inseparableduring my freshman year. I oftenspent the night at the Armstrongs’home, which is where Dick lived. Weoften came in so late we climbed thetrellis to his room in the back to avoiddisturbing anyone.

Another thing about Dick, who wasto die in 1957: He was the most em-pathic and sincere person who wasgenuinely interested in the welfare ofothers of all the people I ever metwhile associated with the WCG. I stillmiss him.

As a sophomore in 1951, I wasscheduled to give a sermonette atchurch HQ. Sixty-five were in atten-dance, including HWA.

I had no experience whatever inpublic speaking, but I did my best.

My game leg was shaking violently,my sweat making spots on my pants asif I had lost control of my bladder. ButI completely debunked evolution inthree minutes and sat down greatlyembarrassed but relieved.

When HWA was through with hissermon he came to me and said that Iwas going to be a “very good speaker.”Boy, could he spot talent or what?

After that I was used for more ser-monettes and finally got the hang of it.

Before the Feast that year I got a“Dear David Jon” letter from Audrey, who said she was engaged to a college

junior from Colorado who played the sax.I was devastated. Dick and I went to

every bar in the area, and I drank anddrank. Sitting on a bar stool, I proposedto Bobby Jo Carter. She turned medown, noting that I was on the re-bound, and besides I was drunk. Bothwere true. Somehow I continued withgood grades and giving sermonettes.

Me and Garner TedTed, HWA’s younger son, was

home from his stint in the Navy andbegan to attend AC. He was made“office manager” and drew a smallsalary. We became even better friendsthan Dick and I had been.

I think we became better friendsbecause Ted was dashing, devil-may-care, and I was in the dumps. He wasfun and distracting.

Besides, being brothers, Dick andTed did not run together. Ted was theyounger, fresh from the Navy andneeding to establish himself. Dick justkept doing whatever Dick did.

Ted was immediately attendingclasses, but I was a sophomore and hea freshman. If I remember correctly,we had two classes in common:Spanish and Old Testament Survey.

Jack Elliott, who supervised thebuilding and grounds, canned mefrom working on the grounds becauseI had left my work several times tohave a cup of joe with Ted.

So Ted immediately hired me as“assistant office manager.” We used tojoke about the abbreviation of my“office”: asst-off-mgr.

Now I had a firm hold on upwardmobility. I moved off campus andrented a miserable little apartment, with the Murphy bed filling the livingroom when it was down.

The other Gang of FourAt the 1952 graduation all four

original students were ordained as“evangelists” of the Radio Church ofGod. As I remember, they were Ray-mond Cole, Raymond McNair, DickArmstrong and Herman Hoeh.

So Herman’s ministerial organiza-tion, passed on to HWA, paid off, andhe started off at the top permissiblerank. I had to struggle mightily tofinally achieve that “office” in 1966,but I’m getting ahead of myself.

A word about each of the gradu-ates:

Well versedRaymond Cole was the one I knew

least. He seemed like a cold fish, noth-ing like his brother Wayne. He wascertainly dedicated and well versedbiblically. Later, I remember, I couldalways count on at least 66 Scripturereferences in any sermon he gave. That meant lots of notes to take, but Isometimes lost the aim of the sermon.

Friendly fellowRaymond McNair was a friendly

fellow, a true believer. He workedslavishly to improve his vocabulary;he tried learning 10 new words a day,had them on 3-by-5 cards and prac-ticed using them on anyone whowould stop to listen. He was an ad-mirable and sincere man.

Locate the tribesHerman Hoeh had me puzzled. He

was certainly intelligent, but not amixer. If he had friends, they wereacademic. He taught OTS that year, and I was among the students. The bigproject was to determine where the

tribes of Israel had ended up in themodern world.

We brainstormed ideas, not muchof a research or intellectual job, andcame up with what most of you willremember as the result. I fear it wasinaccurate but certainly entertaining, and I got an A in the class.

Loving in responseLet me say this about Dick Arm-

strong at this point: Nobody’s per-fect—we are all driven by strong emo-tional tides—but Dick was one of themost compassionate and loving in hisresponse to people, including myself.

He was dedicated, hard working andbelieving. I believe he could have beena very positive force in modifying theoperation of church government andwould have been heard by his father.

His death was not only a tragic lossto the family and all of us but to theWCG as a whole.

The pursuit of AudreyAt spring break 1953 I wrote Audrey,

telling her I was coming up there to killthe SOB she was engaged to.

She warned him—I never did gethis name—and he immediately quitschool and went back home toColorado. Audrey and I got reengagedand set a wedding date for June 21,1953. I was joyous, deliriously happy, and returned to working harder thanever in classes and at my job.

Before the wonderful event, HWAstopped me in the parking lot and toldme I would be the first sophomore togo on a baptizing tour that summer.

I said, “But I’m going to get mar-ried this summer!”

He said, “Wouldn’t you much rath-er go on a baptizing tour?”

I said, “No!” and got married asplanned.

Charles Dorothy was my best man.He fixed up my borrowed car with astring of tin cans and appropriategraffiti.

I thus inspired another rule: Thoushalt not marry until you graduate. It’shard to believe that was more than 50years ago.

The world of wordsI was editor of The Portfolio, the

AC student newspaper. That startedmy writing and editing career. I gotBasil Wolverton to create a mastheadand a cartoon—he was famous for hiscartoons—from time to time.

I also later asked him to draw somecartoons for the Ambassador-Spokes-man Club manual, which was thethesis for my master’s degree.

I had hired my wife in the churchcoworker department—nepotism hasbeen in vogue since Noah—and sheentered AC that fall.

We scraped by financially. I gotinvolved in the press operations at thistime. We had a small letterpress in theback room of the office. I set type on a“joystick” one letter at a time for thecoworker letter and other items.

We had “rubber plates” we couldattach to print the booklets, then Iassembled, stapled and trimmed theseby the thousands, usually with student

volunteer help.I also created new thank-you letters

over HWA’s signature when he wastoo busy to compose one himself. Idon’t think he ever knew this, but itworked. I introduced several improve-ments and got a couple of small rais-es, thanks to Ted.

When Audrey became pregnantwith Jonathan, we prepared for ahome delivery the natural way. Weboth took classes for this. Jonathanwas born at home June 1, 1955, andafter that many hundreds, if not thou-sands, in the church followed suit.

Cast into the fieldI was the speaker at my graduation

that year, and my week-old son at-tended with his mother. By this time Iwas also teaching at the church-spon-sored Imperial Schools as part of myschooling.

After graduation I continued teach-ing, managing the office, speakingand writing.

Before that next fall HWA calledme and Audrey to the “Penthouse,”the top floor of the library building, and said he had good news for us: Hewas sending us to Big Sandy, where Iwould assist the local minister, JimmyFriddle, teach grade and high schooland drive the bus.

This was not good news to me. Iwanted to stay at HQ. But I moved, and I gave sermonettes, split sermonsand full sermons both at Big Sandyand Shreveport, La.—counseling, baptizing, visiting, doing the work ofa minister without being ordained.

Ted had told me when I left for BigSandy that I was being sent out to

“test” me and that how I performedwas a sink-or-swim situation. I swam!

Ordination under fireHWA was present for the Spring

Feast in 1957 in Big Sandy. I had asplit sermon with Norman Smith, andI was to go first.

Just seconds before I was to speak,HWA asked me if I wanted to beordained before or after I spoke.

I chose before. A bad thunderstormwas raging, and before I could beordained the electricity went out. I wasthankful this did not delay my ordina-tion. Herbert said the power outage wasthe devil trying to impede God’s will.

We stood on the stage in the darkwith flashlights focused on us, junebugs hitting us from all sides andcrawling up our legs, as I was or-dained a preaching elder (bypassingdeacon and local elder).

He stated that the ordination wasoverdue, and I agreed. I went aheadand preached my first ordained ser-mon in the dark with no microphoneand 1,500 in attendance. We had goodacoustics in that old redwood dome.

Living with lossBy now Ken Swisher had replaced

Jimmy Friddle as the minister in BigSandy. Audrey was pregnant for thesecond time and far along.

She was Rh negative. I am positive. My positive factor acts like a poisonto the mother, and her body createsantibodies to destroy it.

The baby, who was positive, mustfight the destroying antibodies or diein the process.

The doctor suggested we bring thebaby a month early to prevent this, thus saving its life.

Being true believers, we refusedthis suggestion, trusted God andprayed to have the “disease” healed.

Of course at the time we didn’tknow this was not a disease but a nor-mal function of a human body.

The child died 48 hours beforebirth. This was a terrible trauma for

both of us. It was a little girl.Ken and I buried her in a small cof-

fin in Pauper’s Field. I made only $85a week and often was not paid.

A word about healingI have buried infants who needed

only a simple repair operation to cor-rect a heart valve and people who diedof appendicitis and many other cor-rectable problems, as I am sure mycolleagues have.

When Dick had his accident, HWAdetermined that “corrective measures”were permissible, and every medicalmeans was used to try to save Dick’slife. Later HWA used medications toimprove his own health condition.

I am still extremely sad that so manyhad to suffer unnecessarily and die. Many responsibilities are ours person-ally. God does not fry eggs for us.

Let me add here a recommendationof a book for your reading enjoymentand enlightenment, The True Believer,by Eric Hoffer (1952).

Two-church circuitI finished the school year continu-

ing as before. That summer I was as-signed Houston and Dallas churches,250 miles apart. Houston attendance atthat time was 15, Dallas 75. We movedto the Houston area, immersed our-selves in work and processed our grief.

A backlog of people in Houstonhad requested baptism. Ministerswere supposed to visit each memberat least once a month.

I made 26 to 30 or more visits perweek and began to reduce the backlogfor baptism, which meant I drove 6,000miles each month. This was more than

40 hours a week just driving. The area I covered included Texas,

Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, abig one. I soon added a twice-a-monthBible study in Oklahoma City, 250miles from Dallas.

A woman, a member in Dallas, hadgiven Audrey a little Chihuahua, agreat help in dealing with her loss.

A deacon in Houston complainedabout the dog to HQ, without eversaying anything to us, so we were vis-ited by Ray Cole, who was in chargeof the field ministry.

He arrived in a huff, corrected usand left in the same, a total surprisewith no opportunity for us to offeranything from our side. Raymond wasthe one who had earlier ordained thedeacon.

When Ray left the church later, hestarted his own church—“of theEternal” or something like that—anddisappeared into the woodwork.

I maintained my pace of work, andby 1959 the Houston congregationwas 175 and Dallas about 300.

A pillar of salt—almostI collapsed. A doctor said I had too

much salt in my system. We tracedthis to the water softener in use wherewe rented.

In addition he said that I was suf-fering from exhaustion and I should“rest, rest and rest.”

I was called back to HQ for a“refresher course” and given 30 days’vacation, my first days off in morethan five years. This figures out to besix days a year, but all in one lump.

Audrey and I went for a 10-dayhike, backpacking in the Olympics inWashington. I had a 55-pound pack atthe beginning and a 55-pound pack atthe end. All the food weight wasreplaced with pretty rocks. That’s howI recovered from exhaustion.

We spent a few days visiting rela-tives and friends and went to Pasadena.

We didn’t know how to take a vaca-tion. While we were in the mountainsthe church had moved our few belong-ings back to Southern California.

To teach, not to learnWhen I got back to HQ for my “re-

fresher course,” I was not required totake any classes but to teach several.Benjamin Rea, my Spanish teacher incollege, was being sent to Mexico toacquire a doctor’s degree so he couldgo to England to serve on the staff atthe new AC campus there.

So I took all his classes includingSpanish 1, international relations, geography and a couple of theologyclasses as well as serving as facultyadviser for The Portfolio. I was on thespeaking schedule weekly for variouscongregations organized out of HQ. Itwas a busy schedule.

Now I was 27 years old and fin-ished with my juvenile phase of life.Given the opportunity to pursue mystrengths—teaching, writing, speak-ing—I began to blossom.

Being a good workaholic, as somany others in the Outfit were or wereforced to be, I quickly found my cupfilled to the brim.

In charge of litJim Gott (husband of HWA’s and

Loma’s daughter Beverly) was stillrunning the press department, whichhad moved to bigger quarters and ac-quired a decent 25-by-38-inch offsetpress and a Linotype, allowing offsetprinting of booklets, letters and TheGood News.

I was put in charge of this to helporganize and improve production.Again, a backlog needed to be broughtup to date.

We immediately went to “black onblack” for the GN, which gave it asharp, snappy look for the cost of onemore run on the press, our centerpieceof equipment.

This was an innovation inspired byDon Schoon, who did the camera andplate-burning work, the first time any-one in the trenches was listened to (hehad no “rank,” you know).

I successfully pursued this princi-ple throughout my career at AC-WCG, a management procedure theJapanese later introduced to theU.S.A.

Diverted to OklahomaIn the summer of 1960 Audrey and

I were sent to Oklahoma to start con-gregations in Oklahoma City andTulsa. David and Molly Antion tookover the churches at the end of thesummer, and Audrey and I returned toHQ to continue as before.

The reason I mention both wivesis—as later discovered in the infa-mous contract that was to be signed byall who wished to continue to be em-ployed—that wives of ministers wereassumed to be automatically also em-ployed with the employment of theirminister husbands. Two came for thecheap price of one.

Hats off to the wives, because theydid work hard as well. However, thispolicy stills angers me to a greatdegree: Wives seemed to fall into thesame category along with the ox, theass and others mentioned in Exodus20:17—in other words, chattel.

However, before Mr. Hill couldsend THE JOURNAL his second install-ment, he died, on Nov. 23, 2003.

Not long thereafter, Mr. Hill’s son,Jonathan, retrieved the last words hisfather ever wrote and sent them to thisnewspaper. THE JOURNAL printed themin the December 2003 issue.

13 BAPTISMS AS 333 ATTENDCGI JAMAICA’S SITE

OCHO RIOS, Jamaica—There wasmuch anticipation for this the

40th anniversary of the celebration ofthe Feast of Tabernacles in Jamaica, and expectations were exceeded as333 brethren met at the Ocho Rios siteof the Church of God International(CGI).

To cap off this spectacular Feast, 13persons were baptized on the LastGreat Day.

Two others slated for baptism hademergencies and had to leave the sitebut were baptized the following week, bringing the grand total to 15 bap-tisms.

Rousing praise and worshipFrom opening night when a rousing

praise-and-worship session was led byDeacon Christopher Hendricks,to the Last Great Day, when ourMaroon Town congregation ledpraise and worship in the morn-ing service, the exuberant band ofworshipers sang their hearts outand clapped enthusiastically inpraises to their God.

CGI Kingston, Jamaica, wherethe Church of God has experi-enced significant growth, playedhost to the largest Feast site of allthe Churches of God in theCaribbean.

The schedule was chock-fullof activities. Starting from early-morning prayer on the beach tomorning and sometimes after-noon services, all activities werefocused on deepening our visionof the coming world tomorrow.

Jamaica NightOn the second day of the Feast

we had a thrilling bonfire party, fol-lowed by a dinner, concert and partythe next evening, Jamaica Night

(coordinated by Meleisa Haynes),which had full attendance.

The church invited one of the coun-try’s leading secular vocal artistes,Lloyd Lovindeer, to perform, to thedelight of members.

There was also a well-attendedsports day and an unforgettable picnicto Wata Land Waterpark.

WCG Feast 40 years agoIn addition there was another pic-

nic at Jewels Hotel’s Water Park inRunaway Bay, the site of the World-wide Church of God’s first Feast sitein Jamaica 40 years ago, which Iattended.

There was the staple Family Funshow ably coordinated by KadeenBell Wright, which featured some ofour finest talents.

Our usual speaking competitionhad addressed the controversial matterof divorce and remarriage.

This year was unusual as it becamea real debate with one of the partici-pants who disagrees with the church’sposition given the opportunity tomake a full presentation to show whythe church is wrong.

However, her arguments could not

match those of Stephen Scale, the2014 champion of the competition, who regained his title in a sensational

presentation in which he debunked theview that there were no grounds for

remarriage. Mr. Scale looked at thebest arguments for the no-remarriageview, drawing on scholarly sources,

and refuted allof them.

Then therewas a round-table discussionbetween thethree partici-pants moderat-ed by me dur-ing which ques-t i o n s w e r e

taken, and answered, from the raptaudience.

Endure to the endThis year we had the pleasure again

of having our regional director, BillWatson, address us at the Feast. Hespoke about enduring to the end.

I delivered three sermons, two ofwhich looked at God’s temple throughthe ages, coming down to the church.

The other one drew lessons fromthe life of the apostle Paul.

Other sermons were given byDeacon Christopher Hendricks, Der-rick Allworrd, Fentony Tracey, Mr.Scale and Ray Williams.

Sermonettes were presented byJordan and Dwayne Mc-Kenzie and Sean Golb-burn, who spoke on YouthDay. We enjoyed a richdiet of spiritual food.

Since coming backfrom the Feast I have re-ceived an invitation from agroup of Church of God7th Day churches to makea presentation on the Feastdays in December.

Their senior pastor hasbecome convicted aboutthe necessity of keepingthe holy days and nowwants the CGI to expoundon this truth so that theentire membership of theCG7 group can start keep-ing the days.

Another Church of God7th Day group, led byBishop Samuel Chambers, began keeping the feastdays for the first time thisyear and met in Kingstonto celebrate the Feast ofTabernacles.

They began observingthe Feast as a result of apresentation I made tothem in February.

Agent supportHow did Mr. Doe get to be an agent

of the Department of Homeland Se-curity?

“I’m not an agent,” he corrected theJOURNAL writer. “A DHS agent wouldbe a special federal law-enforcementperson involved with immigration. Anagent would be directly involved withthe law-enforcement aspect of borderprotection.

“I need to add that DHS is not justabout immigration. There are sevenmajor components, agencies, thatmake up the Department of HomelandSecurity.

“I work in supporting the agentswith their cases from the office, most-ly computer-related help.”

Mr. Doe’s background before hisDHS employment was in civil engi-neering.

Bullets by the billionsCritics have alleged that Homeland

Security has been busy buying upmore than a billion rounds of ammu-nition of all types. Does Mr. Doeknow anything about that?

“We don’t just indiscriminately usethe ammunition,” he said. “The Home-land personnel use the ammo for

when they go out to qualify, practice, out to the gun range.

“It’s all accounted for. We’re nottrying to stockpile ammunition. DHSis composed of many other agencies. Many of them are in federal lawenforcement.”

Policeman soldiersWhat about the allegation that the

department is attempting to turn localpolice departments into soldiers?

“I disagree with that,” he said. “Wetry to work with the local police de-partments. We don’t try to workagainst them or turn them into some-thing they’re not.

“We try to work with them in theirown atmosphere. Most local police

departments do their own purchasingof arms and equipment.”

Second thoughtsOther critics have said that Home-

land Security, in cooperation withother agencies and the Obama admin-istration, has as a goal to neuter theSecond Amendment to the U.S. Con-stitution, which acknowledges theright of citizens to arm themselves.

“Hm,” Mr. Doe responded. “It

probably wouldn’t hurt to have somegun control. How many are out theregetting concealed weapons?

“You need some kind of control, not necessarily control but a way torun background checks.

“But we’re not picking out individ-

uals, not targeting a race or whatever. We’re trying to treat everybody equal-ly in background checks and whatever.

“And, no, they’re not going to takeaway the Second Amendment. Youhave the right to bear arms.

“But there needs to be a way tocheck concealed-weapon permitsbecause you don’t want to just givethem to a crazy person or mentallyill person. There must be safeguardsin there.”

Rush LimbaughWhen the Murrah Building in

Oklahoma City was bombed in 1995,President Bill Clinton blamed the inci-dent on conservative talk radio, spe-cifically Rush Limbaugh. What doyou think, Mr. Doe?

“No. That’s kind of ridiculous. I likeRush Limbaugh. I don’t use that for areason to go blow something up.”

Does might make right?THE JOURNAL decided to ask Mr.

Doe what he thinks gives governmentsthe right to govern, to tell people whatthey may and may not do.

“God created the foundation ofgovernment,” Mr. Doe responded.“We have a form of government inwhich we have the privilege of elect-ing those we hope will make the rightdecisions, although they do not al-ways do as we hope.

“I’ve heard that some dispute eventhe legality of the U.S. Constitution. But, if they’re going to dispute thevalidity of the Constitution, the samereasoning can be applied to any lawenacted before our time, including theTen Commandments.”

‘When the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City was bombed,President Bill Clinton blamed the incident on conservative talk

radio, specifically Rush Limbaugh. What do you think, Mr. Doe?’

Few of us have taken a closer look at the Scrip-tures to see what it really says about tithing.Honestly, where does the Bible say, or even hint, that we are to tithe on the money we earn? Whattruly is Biblical “increase”? Few doctrines havebeen as badly misrepresented as the doctrine oftithing. If you now tithe on money, on your pay-check, then you owe it to yourself and your fam-ily to get the facts. Read this detailed study of

tithing which has been freeing people from the false teachings ontithing for over 20 years. (Suggested donation, $3 ppd)

Why do youtithe on money?

A sunset-to-sunset weeklySabbath is not in the Bible!

It is an old story: assuming a belief comes from the Bible, when infact the Bible says nothing of the sort. Most of us came out of

Protestantism because we saw exactly that. Thetruth, the Scriptural truth, is the sunset-to-sunsetweekly Sabbath doctrine is just ANOTHER ONE ofthose beliefs that has no Biblical basis whatever!Shocking though this may be, it is the provabletruth. For nearly 20 years the book, The Scrip-tural Weekly Sabbath is NOT from Sunset-to-Sunset, has shown the vital truth on this crucialsubject. The Biblical facts and history do not lie.Read the facts for yourself. Is Lev. 23:32 really

proof of a sunset-to-sunset weekly Sabbath? Could it be an ancientBabylonian method of reckoning the day gradually replaced theobservance of the true Biblical day? This book is a must read. Orderyours today. (Suggested donation $3, ppd\)

This is why the 9/11 terrorist attackwas allowed to happen.

This prophecy has had recurring ful-fillment throughout history as thebeginning of the first of a series of threesteps that are used by a loving God toencourage His chosen nations to realizethey are drifting away from keepingHis laws and so they can avoid suffer-ing further national consequences.

Our next corrective punishment islaid out in Leviticus 26:19:

“I will break the pride of yourpower; I will make your heavens likeiron and your earth like bronze.”

This verse is a prophecy of droughtand famine, which is happening nowin the United States, Britain, Canadaand Australia.

The Roaring TwentiesAfter the devastating drought of the

Dust Bowl era, the Pearl Harbor at-tack, in 1941, caused fears of a U.S.West Coast invasion.

This began U.S. involvement inWorld War II, during which the Brit-ish, American and French peoplesdid call on God to deliver them fromdefeat.

God heard that appeal and gave ournations victory, including the libera-tion of France. Charles de Gaulle’sreturn to Paris played a big part in ournations’victory over German domina-tion of Europe, but not until we hadpaid a tremendous price in British andAmerican lives.

Many in Western and NorthwesternEurope did go into captivity at thattime, and once again Germany hasrisen to dominate Europe, and a repeatof history will occur.

Had the war not ended when itended, a fleet of German bomberswould have devastated the city of NewYork. After only 70 years history isbeginning to repeat itself one last time!

No Recognition of GodDuality in prophecy means that

because of this present generation’sgrowing failure to even recognize theexistence of God, our cities in Amer-ica and Britain will be destroyed in awar that will have the force of WorldWar II bombing intensified by seventimes against us.

This could only mean by nuclear orother modern weapons attacking ashistory repeats against us, but withincreasing intensity.

This time God will not give our na-tions the victory because of our stub-born refusal to recognize His existenceand Gods authority over our lives.

My wife and I visited family in En-gland and took the traditional Sundaydrive, visiting the point where Ox-ford, Wilt, and Gloucester shires meetand were impressed with the beautyand quality of the rich farmlands.

The British have been given so muchby God, yet today there is little recogni-tion of Him, with only one in 100 everattending a British church service.

If we do not acknowledge our law-breaking, God will use Germany atthe head of a 10-nation military forceto begin a final world war against us.

God has used Assyria, which be-came known as Germany (men ofwar), to punish our nations throughouthistory (Isaiah 10:5-6).

Are Divisions Divine?

F or years now the churches ofGod have been splintered intomany different organizations.

Will salvation come to those who at-tach themselves to the right group?

Rom 14:12: “So then each of us shall giveaccount of himself to God.” Actually it isChrist, the Messiah, who will judge onHis behalf because the Father “. . . hasgiven Him authority to execute judgmentalso . . .” (John 5:27). There is no indica-tion that any church representativeswill be standing by to advocate fortheir membership.

Consider the type of mentality thatis the impetus for divisions and splits.“For you are still carnal. For where there areenvy, strife, and divisions among you, are younot carnal and behaving like mere men? Forwhen one says, ‘I am of Paul,’ and another, ‘Iam of Apollos,’ are you not carnal?” (I Cor3:3-4). “. . . They told you that there would bemockers in the last time who would walkaccording to their own ungodly lusts. Theseare sensual persons, who cause divisions, nothaving the Spirit” (Jude 18-19).

Scripture is clear that those whocause divisions in the congregation ofGod are focused on physical matters, not the thinking of God. The root cause

is a desire to advance or maintain theirown status or will. The leaders whoremain can be just as guilty as those whodepart. Likely neither has been openand straightforward about the issuesand waited humbly on the Head of thechurch to resolve them. So why are weconcerned about organizations of men?

The ministry typically tells the con-gregation that they have the spirit ofGod, but they don’t trust that spirit tobe alive. “My sheep hear My voice, and Iknow them, and they follow Me” (John10:27). For over 40 years, in spite ofwords to the contrary, the Church ofGod has by actions taught the member-ship to look to the ministry to tell themwhat they need to know, rather thanteaching them to investigate scripturethemselves and stir up the Spirit of Godto identify and listen to His voice. Con-sequently, there are congregations fullof people, including the ministry, whodon’t know how to resolve scripturaldifferences of opinion or know what isimportant and what is not. If the lead-ers are unable to make peace amongthemselves, whose spirit is it?

They lack experience in seeking thevoice of the Master in His word and

ordering their life accordingly. They thinkthey must choose sides and follow a manor organization. They are taught to trusthuman leadership and their perspective.

For over 35 years the Head of thechurch has been shaking it. He wantsHis people to look to Him and His wordrather than a corporation or a man. Thecontinuing splits and division are ampleevidence that men are not the source ofthe peace or spirit of God. Some teach-ers can help us along the path, but theymust be pointing the way beyond them-selves into the word of God. Indeed, they should be encouraging everyone inthe congregation to be able students ofHis word so they know the way, His way,on their own. One of the least effectiveways of doing this is with a sermon.

His way is the keeping of the com-mandments (Deu 8:6). “If you want toenter into life, keep the commandments”(Mat 19:17). Since it is Christ’s positionto judge and he will accept those whoare keeping the commandments, whoare we to turn our backs on those Hemight accept? If we can’t get alongnow, why would Christ trust us to getalong in His kingdom?

The real problem is that the church-

es have taught a surface understandingof what the commandments are. Fun-damentally they are the guide for prop-er love, care and respect for our neigh-bor and our Creator. If we are nottreating our neighbor and brother inChrist with love and respect, we haveproven that we don’t really understandthe commandments, and especially notHis new commandment: “. . . That youlove one another; as I have loved you. . .” (John 13:34). He gave His life for usall, including our bumps, warts andeverything. He expects us to live toHis standard (I Pet 1:15; 2:21).

It was only the eleven disciples whowere present when Messiah gave Hisnew commandment. Could it be Heknew especially the leadership neededthis instruction? Unfortunately, theyeither haven’t been paying attention orare at a loss as to how to do it.

Choose the faithful and true source, not men ordained of men. Examinecarefully His instruction for us, start-ing with His covenant, His law, espe-cially His judgments that detail it, soyou can walk in His ways, not in theway of strife and division. He blessesthose who make peace, not division.

A Great Conspiracy

J esus Christ did not say “Cephas” whenreferring to Peter. He would have usedthe language of the time, and that wordwould have been

“Kph.”Early, before 330 A.D., the

Catholic Church had ob-tained copies of the epistles. This was before the splitwhen the bishop of Rometook his office to Byzantium.

This conspiracy was thetampering of Jn. 1:42 wherethis change was made. This would give credence toPeter having been in Rome.

In actuality, it was “Cephas.” Jesus had directedHis words to Simon Peter in Matt. 16:18 and 18:18.Peter-Petros went as far as the seacoast—Joppa andnorth to Samaria and Galilee. After Acts 15, He wentto Babylon. Rome was not called Babylon till thebook of Revelation, about 90 A.D.

There is no record of Jesus Christ speaking anymixed words such as “Cephas,” which is really notAramaic nor Greek, but possibly a combination.

Later, only Paul uses that name in 1 Cor. andGalatians, along with the name Petros, indicatingtwo personalities.

The authority of the bishop of Rome depended onJn. 1:42. Indications would lead to Cephas beingSimon Zelotes.

The DAWNING of the End—“Anend has come, the end has come;it has DAWNED for you; behold,it has come! Doom has come toyou, you who dwell in the land;

the end has come, the day of trouble isnear . . .” (Ezekiel 7:6-7).

The False Prophet—The duplicitouspope preached about the tragedy inParis while connecting it to the endtime (II Corinthians 11:13-15). How muchmore should those who were once mem-bers of the true Church of God graspthe reality of the TIME in which we nowlive and make needed changes before itbecomes too late?

“These Are the End Times”—Breitbartwrote on November 15: “Two days after thehorrendous jihadist attacks in Paris, PopeFrancis preached about the ‘end times,’encouraging his hearers to be vigilant andready at any moment to meet God face to face. . . The Pope invited the ten thousand pil-grims gathered in Saint Peter’s Square tothink about their death, the day they willmeet God and give an accounting for their life. . . The most important thing is not knowingwhen the end will come, but being ready for itwhen it does, he said.” [What say you?]

Natural News “With Open Gates”—Toprevent you from learning the truth aboutwhat’s really happening with the wave ofrefugees and ISIS terrorists in Europe, You-Tube has been desperately and rapidly censor-ing every instance of a must-see video entitled“With Open Gates—The Forced Collec-tive Suicide of European Nations.”

Shocking Video—This shocking, eye-open-ing video is an absolute MUST SEE for everycitizen on our planet. It unveils the shocking, horrifying truth of how European nations arenow being overrun by an invasion of refugeeswho intend to overrun western civilization anddestroy Europe as we know it today.”

America—“Much the same is happeningin America . . . Because of America’s openborders policy enforced by Democrats, ISISattacks will soon take place in America. Theenemy is already inside the gates. And theyare determined to destroy western culture

by any means necessary.”Dancing With the Devil, Thursday, No-

vember 19, 2015, Charles Gardner—“Evenbefore I learnt that the main target ofthe Paris massacre was a theatre . . . Ihad been wondering whether we West-erners were reaping the consequencesof ‘dancing with the devil.’ That so manycivilians enjoying an evening out shouldsuddenly find themselves face to facewith a virtual fir-ing squad almostdefies the imagi-nation. But therewas evidently anelephant inthe room, agreat unmen-tionable thatdare not speakits name . . .But what com-m e n t a t o r sseem deliber-a t e l y t o h a v emissed . . . wasthe link betweensuch evil extrem-ism and the dark natureo f t h e c o n c e r t t h a tclaimed most of the liveslost last Friday night.

A Death Kiss—“The Eagles of DeathMetal band had apparently just started a songcalled Kiss the Devil when the gunmenopened fire and the auditorium morphed intothe devil’s domain. Fantasy became reality, with one witness describing it as “hell” . . .

Obsession—“We seem obsessed with darkand lurid fantasy, and with images of violencein our living rooms. We congratulate ourselveson our culture of ‘freedom,’ bought at a greatprice in two world wars and, before that, withthe blood of Christian martyrs who went tothe stake for the cause of publishing God’sWord, now discarded and thrown to the winds, only to be replaced by moral relativism wherethere are virtually no rules for living; where wepromote death (through abortion and euthana-sia, for example) and set about ‘redefining’marriage, family and society as a whole.

Moral Defenses—“Tragically, however, ourmoral defenses are down, our walls have beenbreached, and the foundations of our Judeo-Christian civilization have been undermined. That is why we are wobbling as a society ingrave danger of collapse . . .” (emphasis through-out mine).

All Are Sleeping—There is no questionbut that we have entered the DAWNING of theend. For 52 years Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong

warned this time wouldcome! And with it the GreatTribulation. Sadly, manythousands of former mem-bers and their ministers haverejected, not only the proph-ecies and teachings, but theElijah himself, Mr. HerbertW. Armstrong; and becauseof it, unless repentance comes, they will find themselves ex-periencing the horrors of it.

A Time Like No Other:“For behold, the day iscoming BURNING like anoven, and all the proud, yes, and all who do wick-edly shall be stubble. And

the day which is coming shallBURN them up,” says the LORD ofhosts (Malachi 4:1).

The Philadelphia Era of God’s Church—Please know from Scripture it will only beGod’s true and faithful little flock, the rem-nant of the Philadelphia Era of God’s Church, that will escape the worst of the coming terri-ble times due to their faithfulness and endur-ance (Revelation 3:7-13).

MYSTERY OF THE AGES—To be so blessed, please seriously study the last book Mr. Her-bert W. Armstrong wrote: the unedited MYS-TERY OF THE AGES, ISBN 0-396-08773-6. Inreading, and acting, on it you could save your lifefrom this coming and dreadful time. Remem-ber—Mr. Armstrong was the man God used toteach all of us His truth (II Timothy 3:13-14).

Veterans Crisis Line

“The presence of the following [warning]signs requires immediate attention:

Thinking about hurting or killing yourself.Looking for ways to kill yourself. Talkingabout death, dying or suicide. Self-destructivebehavior such as drug abuse, weapons, etc.

“Even if there is no immediate danger, theVeterans Crisis Line is here for you. Crisisfeels different for everybody and can stemfrom a wide range of situations. Some Vet-erans are coping with aging, stress, relation-ship problems, financial or legal issues, or lin-gering effects stemming from their militaryservice which were never addressed. SomeVeterans have difficulty with their relation-ships or the transition back to civilian life.

“Whatever’s got you down—chronic pain, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, anger oreven homelessness—a Veterans Crisis Lineresponder can provide support, day or night.”

[The US rich elite want the US militarylauded to support fighting its wars to profit thatelite, but leave the military vulnerable to allkinds of bad effects they have to cope withlater, without much help from governmentservices. Despite the military praised publicly, suicides and homelessness increase. The Wal-ter Reed Hospital scandal caused 18 vets to diewaiting for a doctor’s appointment, while thestaff kept delaying it in order to look good andreceive financial bonuses. Troops stationed inforeign military bases are hated by the localpopulation for land grab, arrogance, horrificnoise and pollution, rapes and accidents.]

Wikipedia articleOn the book “Falsehoods in War-time, Con-

taining an Assortment of Lies Circulated Through-out the Nations During the Great War writtenby Arthur Ponsonby in 1928 lists and refutespieces of propaganda used by the Allied Forces. . . Ponsonby regards these falsehoods as a fun-damental part of the way the war effort was cre-ated and sustained, claiming that without liesthere would be no reason and no will for war.Ponsonby states that the book was written toinform the masses and to highlight the media’srole as a manipulator of mass opinion.”

Anne Morelli summarized and systematizedthe contents of Ponsonby’s classic in ten com-mandments of propaganda: “1. We do not wantwar. 2. The opposite party alone is guilty ofwar. 3. The enemy is the face of the devil. 4.We defend a noble cause, not our own interest.5. The enemy systematically commits cruel-ties; our mishaps are involuntary. 6. The enemyuses forbidden weapons. 7. We suffer smalllosses, those of the enemy are enormous. [Ifearly losses were known publicly, the publicmight halt the war.] 8. Artists and intellectualsback our cause. 9. Our cause is sacred. Theages-old God bless America is playing oncemore. 10. All who doubt our propaganda aretraitors.” [At least despised as not patriotic.]

“Falsehood in War-Time was positivelyreceived on its release. The International Jour-nal of Ethics calls Ponsonby’s work an inter-esting study of the moral degradation involvedin all wars.” [Morals of the masses degrade.Particularly the military learns to hate anotherenemy, while troops are lauded as heroes.Though upon return from war many are treatedlike scum, to deal with their tragic problems asa blown off limb with inadequate care.]

From worldinformation.org, a cited Wiki-pedia link—“The CPI [of and in the US] wasnot hiding at all. Its most important issue was toexplain to its own people why the USA wasfighting that war in Europe. The idea spread wasthat it was a just war, a war that had to be foughtto rescue all people, even the Germans fromtheir political system [Yes, the usual freedomand liberty ploy]. For this issue the Germanswere divided into two groups, the emperor andthe soldiers on the one side being portrayed asbeasts, and the German people presented as thevictims of the first ones.” [Though at war’s endcivilians were bombed greatly.]

“Propaganda tends to be as effective asbombs in wartime . . . Defamation is an impor-tant tool of disinformation, which is especiallychosen for destroying the good reputation of acompetitor or enemy. In this respect informa-tion can turn into a more destructive tool thanordinary weapons. [Germany and Britainbefore WWI had great trade between them.

But Britain for WWI had to vilify Germany, yet somehow reverse that in order to continuetrading after the war.]

“War needs propaganda for moral reasons(justification), too, for the soldiers in the battle-fields (they need to feel that their nation is appre-ciating their sacrifice) and for nationalism.”

About Larken Rose’s book nextAbout the myth that we must have a state,

with lawmakers to make laws enforced byenforcers, otherwise there is chaos. But thisidea is promoted by the elite who make lawsfor their benefit at the expense of the masses. These laws are made to appear good for mostpeople, while actually enslaving them. So theyeven go along with the scam and criticizethose against this tyranny.

JFK spoke that we should not ask what ourcountry can do for us, but what can we do for it.This sacrificial ploy fits in with those who wanta state, and want to be the ones in control.Working selflessly as a team is good if the causeis good, but evil if the controllers are just manip-ulating the masses for their own evil ends.Where is the sacrifice the elite should be demon-strating in setting the right example? They tendto live in luxury. Do their sons go overseas towar? Hardly, if they do not avoid the militaryentirely, they get officer training and avoid actu-al combat. Like Bush Jr. got special pilot train-ing and questionable status to avoid battle. Theelite avoid leading by example in actually fight-ing wars, while promoting war as warmongers. And while claiming to be peacemakers.

Larken’s view is a unique way to investi-gate the usual viewpoint that people must havea state and thus state rule, with people in‘authority’ ruling others.

An old saying is No honest man is in power.Politicians are proverbial to watch out forlying, promising anything to get elected.Newly elected politicians may pardon formerleaders of their crimes. Gerrymanderingallows an elected US official to redesign hisdistrict to include voters who will vote for himand exclude those that will not. Voting isrigged in other ways with the same idea inmind, so officials can continue in office. Politi-cians get funding from corporations expectingto profit by the elected official favoring them.So the congressional committee that is sup-posed to regulate an industry actually lets thecorporations dictate rules. Congressmen canand do vote to raise their own salaries or perks.

Police, military and security guards of nationsusually have similar uniforms, with 5-point starsand up to 5 stars to denote rank as militaries ofnations. By the use of the same symbols youwould think a rich elite runs them all!

Recent US events in Ferguson, Baltimoreand other cities: Police brutality caused mas-sive peace demonstrations. Unfortunately, some rioting and looting occurred, likely frominstigators taking advantage of the situationand not really demonstrating. Police brutalitywas usually on a black person treated badly bycops, even deaths. Treated more like convictedcriminals judged in a court of law than inno-cent until proven guilty. Other police brutalitycited is a rough ride of driving erratically whilecuffed without seat restraints in the arrest vanto hurt the person arrested. Increasingly, thepolice are paramilitary, like the military butnot actually part of it, with training, weaponsand vehicles like a military. For assault teams.

The Most Dangerous SuperstitionBy Larken Rose (2012): He tells how most

people believe in the myth of a state. That law-abiding people need some to be in authority toobey, which requires this elite and enforcers tobe above the law like gods. While people laudfreedom, most tend to actually fear true free-dom, opting for a state and thus control by theelite in charge, and subject to enforcers whomake sure they obey enacted laws, no matterhow bad. [It has been documented how US gov-ernment departments seek to gain more power, going beyond their established scope and hinderthe average citizen instead of helping him.]

The idea that democracy is good is foisted onpeople to believe in it, but the opposite results.People are forced into violence and conflict.Political elections are not really about unity, butarguing on how people are forced to behave. Sovoting means choosing who gets to hold thewhip of oppression. [Election campaigns tend to

involve mudslinging to vilify opponents, whilewhitewashing bad acts of the favored candidate.]

Gandhi in India led passive resistance, non-violence, to end Britain’s cruel reign there. Inthe US, prohibition against alcoholic drinksended when jurors quit favoring the act, dis-obeying the unpopular law. And others usedmore violent means as tar and feathering en-forcers of the act. There was widespread dis-obedience in smuggling it.

Black citizens would not authorize whiteenforcers to intimidate, harass or suspect themof criminal acts just for their skin color.

Murray Rothbard in Anatomy of the Statewrote “The government does not in any accu-rate sense represent the majority of the people[even in a claimed representative governmentsince the rulers tend to live above the law theypass for the masses to keep. As many taxes forthe masses, while the laws have tax-loopholesthey benefit from, as off shore accounts] . . .the State is that organization in society whichattempts to maintain a monopoly of the use offorce and violence in a given territorial area,in particular, it is the only organization insociety that obtains its revenue not by volun-tary contribution or payment for services ren-dered but by coercion.” While ordinary citi-zens gain by peaceful means, the State gainsby force, as by the IRS. And if deemed neces-sary, confiscates property or imprisons.

[Corporations run prisons so enslave inmatesto work at very low wages for them. While mostAmericans think they do not buy products ofslave labor, of the US or other nations. US firmssell drugs or chemicals, banned in the US, toforeign nations. Getting rid of their stockpilesand making money while harming others.].

“The American people are learning that theCIA has for decades engaged in drug and gun-running, torture, assassination, buying influ-ence with foreign governments, installing pup-pet dictators . . . Even President Truman, whocreated the CIA, later stated that he neverwould have done so if he had known it wouldbecome the American Gestapo.”

Non-authoritarian police should not havethe power to do more than ordinary people.Following the motto You rule you, I rule me.So morality is taught and not authority. “Aworld without rulers.”

“War could not happen at all without soldiersputting their devotion and loyalty to their owngang, tribe or country above doing what isright. Patriotism and the belief in authority arethe two key ingredients to war. The easiest wayto dupe basically good people into committingevil is portraying acts of aggression and con-quest as fighting for one’s country.” Advocatingbrutality. [And the reason for most wars is forthe elite to profit, to steal from another nation. While the elite of nations do connive together, there is also competition among them anddesire to be top dog with the most wealth.]

[As I reported: Nations, particularly the US,go to war against another usually based on astaged false flag op to make it appear the newenemy has committed an atrocity and must beretaliated against. But actually for the rulingelite to profit, while those doing the actualfighting suffer, and the public pay for the costsin lives and money. Patriotism is aroused torally the troops and public sentiment. The newenemy vilified as often as possible for real andimagined offenses. Citizens’ rights are tram-pled upon, restricting them as with domesticspying and surveillance, and anti-war protest-ers, conscientious objectors and pacifistsscorned, even jailed. Freedom of speech cur-tailed to avoid hurting public and troopmorale. Necessities as food must be rationedor done without. More young men are brain-washed in boot camp to hate and kill a newenemy, to follow commanders’ orders.]

Enforcers can brutally enforce ‘the law’against those who would Take the law intoone’s owns hands. So the enforcers can con-duct evil legally. Even the ultimate killing of‘criminals’ by judges ruling that they deserveto die, and authorize the executioners legally. So enforcers have the legal right, made legalby the elite, to do evil acts not allowed by mostcitizens and against standard morals. Enforc-ers tend to proudly commit evil, reinforcingthe corrupt ruling class’s domination of thepublic, promoted as the enforcers serving thepeople. Like the IRS claims the most good isdone by it in collecting taxes so all will bene-

fit, while also enforcing how the ruling classgets away without paying taxes, or very little.Using loopholes in laws they devised. So ‘thegood’ fund evil and many seem proud to berobbed. And the IRS is used by presidents tohamper their critics.

Company bailouts benefit the rich elite atthe expense of the poor. As well as segmentsof society taken over by the government likehealth care. Government groups tend to grow, yet bureaucratic red tape does tend to make itharder for citizens to get their services.Outsourcing jobs overseas benefits the eliteemploying cheap foreign wage earners at theexpense of US citizens who are forced to takelesser paying jobs. Surely these US citizensdid not vote for this outcome.

Some of the greatest military men, afterdoing the bidding of the elite for years, cameto realize the truth and spoke out. As GeneralSmedley Butler who described war as a racketthat benefits the few at the expense of themany, for the benefit of corporations. Like USfirms trying to do business in foreign nationsusing the cheapest labor, and with little con-cern about worker conditions and pollution.[So the term banana republic came into being,of South American nations made to complywith US corporations for things as bananas. With puppet rulers allowing the exploitationby the firms, thanks to bribes to them.]

General MacArthur said “The powers incharge keep us in a perpetual state of emer-gency. Always there has been some terribleevil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rallybehind it by furnishing the exorbitant sumsdemanded. Yet in retrospect, these disastersseem never to have happened, seem never tohave been quite real.” Like many terroristattacks are staged events by the CIA to make itappear a certain group is to be blamed. Whilethe CIA lies to Congress about their activities.

Worst cases of massacres have been doneby governments against their own citizens, asStalin and Mao.

[US experiments were conducted on unwit-ting US citizens as guinea pigs, as radiationand vaccine tests on US troops to study theeffects.] Despite Stalin’s murder of tens of mil-lions of Russians, he was an ally in WWII soportrayed as nice Uncle Joe by the US govern-ment. But this conflicted with the claimednotion the US warred to get rid of evil, andsought democracy for oppressed nations.

The official policy by national leaders hasbeen to avoid killing other nations’ leaderswhile warring against their nations, whichmeans those ordering the evil are allowed tokeep ruling badly, while the masses suffer hor-rors of war. [Most rulers are Masons.] Thisgoes along with generals not being targeted byother nations’ troops. [A statue of a Union anda Confederate general was made showing oneaiding the other as fellow Masons.]

The most cost-effective means to eliminatea war would be to kill the one(s) in charge. Ifwars were stopped by assassinating the leader, this would be a deterrent for other leaders try-ing to take their nation to war. Instead, theleaders tend to be glorified or above criticismand protected from wars they cause. The war-mongers could be ousted without killing them.

“Though one who dies in combat is oftensaid to have given his life for his country, inreality they are simply resources spent bytyrants, in various turf wars with other compet-ing gangs of tyrants. The people are fed propa-ganda about heroism, sacrifice and patriotismto hide the fact that governments never enterwars to serve justice or freedom. They do it toserve their own power.” For example, the Axispowers were vilified by the Allies, such asHitler for mass murder, but Stalin of the Allieswas the worst, who was given half of Europeafter WWII [to set up the Cold War next].

Many wars can be somewhat justified asself-defense, but most all wars by the US can-not since hardly any battles were on its main-land. Even its reason of war on terror to try andjustify ‘defense’ falls apart since most all theterror is being done by US troops as in Iraq, orthe CIA. And the terrorist threat is simply abogeyman as the false claims during the ColdWar that Communists were. [Recently on na-tional news it was announced that the US mili-tary support against Syria has failed to recruitmany against Assad. So only 80 Syrian rebelshave been recruited, at a whopping $3.75 mil-lion each! What is not reported widely is thatISIS is such a US-supported group, also.]

The US dropped atom bombs on Japan, mostly on civilians, which is a war crime.Particularly since it wanted to surrender formonths. The bombs were used to coerce theJapanese government to agree to uncondition-

al surrender. But this fits the US definition ofterrorism. In wars, troops do kill innocent peo-ple and try to hide the fact, while publicizingwhen the enemy does this. Hypocrisy.

Enforcers believe the myth they are great formaking people obey laws and can force othersto comply or be put in jail or even die. So eventorture at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib (maleand females) by US troops is justified. Whilethe real terrorist perpetrators (US troops) be-come sadistic, even exhibiting delight in hu-miliating, showing trophy photos online. [UStroops committed torture way back in the Fili-pino war, as waterboarding captive Filipinos.US troops make night raids searching Iraqifamilies, terrifying children.]

Law enforcement actions at Ruby Ridge andWaco, Texas, show their exalted view using para-military assault. Enforcers seem proud to pro-claim their allegiance to their ruling masters’every order, like during Prohibition, though copsmight come home from work and drink a beer!Proud to wear a badge of authority, so they can doevil legally against fellow citizens. Law enforcers(police or soldiers) take great pride in their uni-forms [with Masonic symbols, as boy scout meritbadges to pat themselves on the back, or front.Military and police uniforms show the brass—cheap display as fool’s gold of how great theyare]. Enforcers believe the myth that they areentrusted with unusual rights to commit terror on‘law-breakers’ or those deemed breaking somecontrived law by the ruling class. Laws claimedfor noble motives, but really for evil actions.

[Detectives will accuse innocent people as ifthey were guilty of a crime, until evidencepoints to someone else—not exactly innocentuntil proven guilty.]

Rulers set up property taxes and use enforcersto make sure the owners comply. In other words,an extortion racket, but made to appear legal andeven honorable for the good of most people. Those who are against the tax and resist theracketeering scheme are looked on with disdain.

Suppose someone mows your lawn thenexpects you to pay him. You are under no obli-gation to do so. Likewise with many so-calledpublic services we pay taxes for that may evenbenefit us, but to which we never consented, andfor which we do not want to pay. [The US mili-tary-industrial complex gets all the funds it wantsat the expense of the citizenry who must put upwith more streets with potholes, unsafe bridgesneeding to be fixed and so on. So many go home-less and hungry in the US, even US vets.]

Demonizing an enemyMany militaries have tried to figure out ways

for their troops to shoot at a new enemy. To dis-regard normal morality and kill on command. The ploy is to convey the enemy is doing evil andmust be stopped. Continual propaganda showsthe enemy is brutal and must be made to cease, but the ‘good’ troops involved become mentallyas bad as the enemy conveyed, perpetrating atroc-ities themselves, gangs of thugs. So troop obedi-ence to evil orders seems justified, and doing evilacts is allowed. As the Mafia is organized crime,Do what I say or I hurt you. So evil rulers’ com-mands are carried out no matter how arbitrary orsilly. Many old laws are still on the books makingthe stupidest acts criminal, though even enforcersmay have quit enforcing them.

The My Lai 4 massacre and many like it dur-ing the Vietnam war showed the depravity ofmany US troops torturing, raping women andkilling even babies. Treating the Vietnameseworse than humans in their line of duty. (A rel-ative few did try to stop the carnage to noavail.) But isn’t this just the final end of USpropaganda to vilify an enemy in order to beable to shoot him? Many claimed in theirdefense that they were just doing their duty. Butthe Nuremberg trials against the Nazis pointedout that doing your duty is not a valid excusefor acts against humanity. Obviously, those giv-ing the orders are more at fault in the crime.

According to the Constitution someonestopped on the street by policemen does notneed to answer, but not doing so can rile themsince it seems to show disrespect for them. Many officers become angry if an ordinary per-son speaks to them as equals, as if they too arejust ordinary citizens. Instead of a slave speak-ing to his master. While if an ordinary citizen

confronted someone on the street like the policedid, they would be considered in violation ofhuman dignity and would refuse to divulgeinformation. Larken tells that some cops havepersonally told him they quit the force becausethe job had turned them into monsters, oneusing that very term.

The US school system of compulsory educa-tion was modeled after the Prussian system toindoctrinate students to accept authority, to dowhat they are told. To train them to go alongwith the scheme of the ruling class. Be goodworkers and not complain.

Dr. Millgram’s experimentThese tests were conducted to learn about

blind obedience, to see how far people would goby inflicting pain on someone else for the sakeof authority. Told in the book Obedience to Au-thority. People were instructed to zap someoneelse with an electrical shock for wrong answers, despite the victim showing severe pain—though fake, acted out and unknown to the truesubject of the tests. People who would normallybehave in a moral fashion would act differentlyif they were obeying commands of an authorityfigure, in a false memory test. To see if shockwould induce people to remember better.Switches were varied, going up to 450 voltslabeled. Danger was posted as a warning on thehigher settings. Despite the cries of pain and formercy, many continued to inflict pain, even to(acted out) unconsciousness.

Dr. Millgram found that subjects followedorders of one perceived to be in authority, evencontrary to morality. Though even he could notreally face this reality, claiming some structureof authority is necessary. Just following ordersis not a valid excuse. This is true of policemenand troops. They should obey moral laws all thetime, like common citizens. Those in authorityshould enact moral laws in the first place.

A relative few in the experiment stoppedwhen the victim expressed he wanted to halt. But most, despite signs of their own guilt andstress, continued to inflict pain, and moreintensely. “The belief in [authority] makesgood people commit evil.”

Enforcers for the ruling elite have faith in thatelite in order to carry out their commands, in spiteof how bad the orders may be. Police claim theydon’t make the laws, only enforce them. Whileacting in their ‘official’ capacity, the enforcersbelieve they are exempt from the usual moralrules and can inflict acts of aggression, as taseringsomeone [not really non-lethal since some die]. ATSA agent can rummage through one’s luggagethough he has not done anything wrong, and evenperform invasive pat down or scanning. A judgecan cite a person for contempt in court for theslightest perceived disrespect for his office.

If a Congressman steals $1000 from some-one he is considered a thief, but if he does theequivalent through taxes, that is consideredlegitimate. Though he may use tax dollars for araise in pay and extravagant perks for himself.Elected officials are supposed to be public ser-vants, instead, too many want to be served andget perks as kings.

People tend to believe what they perceive ofthe world to be true, but someone can be colorblind. Or have a mental or preconceived blind-ness to the truth, from past experience or teach-ing. People tend to believe they are right intheir own eyes, from their point of view theylearned over time.

Many claim people are not ready to live in asociety without authority. Believing in authori-ty is bad on those who do the ruling and makethe laws. And on those agents who enforce thelaws doing cruel acts. And worse on those whosuffer the brutal effects.

Most believe governments will be fair andmake sure all subjects are treated properly. Butthe US has been spouting justice and democra-cy for decades while having slavery, lack ofwomen rights and still Blacks are discriminatedagainst, women getting lower wages than mendoing the same jobs. ‘Legal’ authority alwaysclaims to be acting on the behalf of the people itis supposed to be serving, but by its very naturetends to go contrary to them promoting its ownbenefits, taking away the rights and property ofthe people. We have been taught to respectauthority, and if that doesn’t happen we will alllive in chaos. A child is graded on how well heobeys, trained to obey those in authority over

him, to trust that authority will rule in his over-all favor. Though some of the worst laws maybe enforced to the harm or death of the masses.

The acts of common thugs to steal and hurtis universally condemned as crimes, but if gov-ernment-sanctioned enforcers do these sameacts while ‘doing their duty’ it is considered nota crime. So if the lawmakers make laws to col-lect taxes, this is done and those who do notcomply are forced to pay or go to jail. As anextortion racket collecting tribute while claim-ing to protect someone from harm to him or hisbusiness (namely from these very thugs). Thosewho comply in paying their taxes may be proudthey do so, in effect glad to be ripped off by thegovernment and condemn others who do not.

While the people in authority or enforcersexist, the government itself is a myth. The dan-gerous belief is to believe in a contrived author-ity. Natural law is true laws of the rights of anindividual to live and prosper. Not the same asstatutory law or an arbitrary set of laws bywhich a set of people try to live by, but tends tobe mostly for the benefit of the lawmakers whoare trusted by the masses to enact good laws.

People can be ‘taxed to death’[Note that your phone or power bill lists an

incredible amount of different taxes taken out, though only a few are really directly related tothe service.] When US slavery existed, it waslaw in some regions that a slave could not betaught to read. [And those aiding escaped slaveswere punished.] Such laws are considered legit-imate when enacted and to be followed. Therich slave owners got these laws enacted andgot people to enforce them. Sometimes theenforcers can even get away with murder.

A ‘country’ happens to be where lawmakersdrew the boundary lines, and can vary greatlyover the years. [US land varied over the yearsfrom nothing, to territory taken by killingIndians, or moving the survivors to concentra-tion camps or reservations.] Love of one’scountry is an attachment to the land or peoplewithin an authority-defined area. Virtual reality.

Consent of the governedBut governing means most people have no

consent. If government was really by consent of the

people there would be no need of enforcers. Ifsomeone has a rule in his own house that peo-ple entering must take off their shoes, that is hisright, and only while people are within hishouse. Private property means he can restrictentry as owner, as avoid smoking. Consent ofthe governed tends to imply the politicians incharge legally own the country, and the onlychoices the people have is to comply or get outof the country. Love it or Leave it.

It is like a lunatic claiming he owns Asia andif you do not obey him you must get out ofAsia. Politicians should not be allowed to set upan arbitrary border of jurisdiction and demandpeople inside it must obey them. People shouldnot have to consent to taxes they never reallyconsented to or for a cause they disagree with,or be subject to ‘law enforcers’ that extracttaxes by force, or imprison.

It is a myth that schoolchildren learn that Weare the People that Govern. When in reality onlya privileged class does. And a like myth is peo-ple can choose their leaders [the higher the of-fice, the more likely elections are rigged to servethe elite]. Supposed representative governmentsare continually doing things most people do notwant, as warmongering and bailing out big cor-porations at taxpayers’ expense. Usually fromthe companies doing business fraudulently, making risky deals like gambling to profit evenmore. While the ruling elite do not take any per-sonal responsibility in committing criminal acts.[Corporations that are caught gypping the publicwill pay a fine, but admit no wrongdoing.]

In the US there is a ruling class who receivesmuch money, and a subject class who paysthem. One group tells the other where they canwork, eat and so on. Even though the govern-ment is portrayed as being our servant. Whilethe myth is kept going that anyone in a democ-racy can become president, only those of therich elite get elected.

There is no such thing as a ruling class. [Whenthe recent campaign to elect a US president start-ed, even Barbara Bush, once First Lady, said“There are more than 2 or 3 families that should

run for high office in America.” Noting thatamong so many people who could run for high-est office, there were 2 of the same families whohad won most recently, a Bush and a Clinton, atleast one doing well in the polls. Commentatorsnoticed that Jeb Bush wanted to distance himselffrom failed policies of his brother and father andso campaigned with the slogan Jeb! So his lastname was not so much in the public mind. Toomany had gotten the right idea that he belongedto a crime family going back to Prescott Bushwho almost got imprisoned for doing businesswith the enemy during war.]

Representative governments, while claimingto represent all the people, will declare warsand fight other nations that most citizens do notwant to fight. And make some citizens fightagainst their will. Government workers tend toincrease in number paid by taxpayers, yetbureaucratic red tape abounds when citizens tryto use government services. We can think ofways the government has acted to which we donot approve, as pork barrel politics [Fleecing ofAmerica] when politicians provide aid to theirconstituents (as unneeded jobs, in their state) inorder to gain their favor in voting, at theexpense of the rest of the country.

There’s the myth that someone has to be incharge—but such processes as exchangingmoney for food in market places goes on with-out this. Thomas Jefferson claimed that a gov-ernment could exist which only protects therights of its citizens, but he said then that gov-ernment would not really need to exist. If peoplein general are so bad in keeping moral laws thatthey need a government to enforce these laws, how is making a subset of these flawed people torule going to make things better? Those inauthority tend to think too much of themselves, trying to acquire more money and power.

[There are programs in the states trying tomake elections fair since many are not. Riggedby interest groups or politicians, or biasedtowards the rich. These programs try to cleanup and monitor elections. One such crookedmethod is to discriminate by making it difficultfor voters as minorities to qualify to vote ormake it hard for them to reach a voting booth.]

[In Congress, a committee or subcommitteewill be targeted by a special interest group(lobbyists) to be swayed by campaign funds orsecret bribes to do their bidding. So the con-gressional group assigned to regulate the indus-try does the opposite, favoring corporations. Itseems there is an innate quality that any groupwill tend to aggregate power to stay in powerand attain more influence, to the detriment ofthose it is supposed to serve and others. Lobby-ists outnumber Congressmen 70 to 1 so must besuccessful in getting them to do their bidding, and too many elected officials are willing to getricher and gain more power. Sucking moneyfrom other taxpayers.]

Especially in the US, government buildingstend to have a cathedral-type architecture so thosein authority are considered like priests, god-like,and their acts looked on as sacrosanct. Holinessand reverence for judges, Your Honor, in robes.

[Fundamental flaw is human nature mayinclude doing evil against others. But havingflawed humans ruling in authority has worsetendencies. At least Larken’s idea would givemore people their say in matters and avoid theworst government.] While most people wantdeterrents against thugs harming them, thegovernment tends to be a permanent and‘legal’ thug too often.

[The US has done that very many times inregime change or at least fixing elections tooust the unfavored leader to assist US policiesor corporations.]

The elite want the nation’s flag shown a lot,to exalt it, multiple ones at speeches, or onnational buildings. [What’s the purpose of allthese repetitions of the same flag? To glorifythe state and to rally around in time of war forpatriotism. The government could save moneyby using only one flag at a podium for speak-ing, or one at a building, instead of many.]

[Many Americans claim the American Dreamis dead. That anyone cannot become presidentby hard work. And that the US is not a fairnation, since the gap between rich and poor isgrowing much wider, and since US inception. While US slavery finally stopped, economicslavery continues and mounts. The rich, in gen-eral, profit off the poor masses. As the Britishking or queen hold vast wealth at the expense oftheir adoring people (and others who are forcedby circumstances to get scammed). The Queenrecently had to move out of her palace becauseof the cost of upkeep, but she just moved intoone of her other palaces. I hope the poor dearwas not inconvenienced too much.]

NOW honestly ask yourself “WHY” YOU MINISTERS refuseto obey your Father?Answer: Because you ministers need a NEW Heart. Period.Because your “old” heart refuses to repent.SO:

1.) STOP moving God’s Sabbath Day to Friday in 1/2 theWorld with Satan’s phony 1883 IDL (1883 International DateLine). Ex 20:10.

2.) STOP using an averaging calendar that causes you towork on HOLY Days (when with 1 computer click you canknow the RIGHT DAY). Lev 23:2

Even others know—Quote: We shouldn’t buy or sell on the Sabbath day, noteven food. God says this will “profane the Sabbath day.” The gates to Jerusalemwere shut as it began to get dark towards the Sabbath, and were opened againafter the Sabbath was over. This was to keep the merchants and sellers frombuying and selling on the Sabbath, Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15-22.

There are NO restaurants open in Jerusalem on God’s Sabbaths. Create in me a pure heart [to stop me from ignor-ing God’s Bible Commands] . . . Pray to Father for him toSTOP you from breaking his way.

PRAY THIS ABOVE PRAYER, YOU MINISTERS,or BURN in Hell.

Father can create a NEW Heart in you if youPRAY to Him to. YOU MINISTERS “NEED” A NEW

HEART as proven by the 7 above FACTS.So here is some DYNAMITE INFORMATION to GET you prayingfor a New Heart, you ministers who “say” you obey the Bible’sWords, but you clearly don’t as proven by the above FACTS ofyour “DIS”obedience to the 7 months of ADMONITIONSand 7 above FACTS.God’s Bible states:1 Samuel 10:9Then it happened when he turned his back to leave Samuel, God changed hisheart; and all those signs came about on that day.Daniel 4:16Let his mind be changed from that of a man And let a beast’s mind be given tohim, And let seven periods of time pass over him.2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away;behold, new things have come.Jeremiah 24:7I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My peo-ple, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.Ezekiel 36:26Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I willremove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.Romans 2:29But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart,by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.Psalm 51:10Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.Ezekiel 11:19And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them And I will takethe heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,Romans 12:2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing ofyour mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good andacceptable and perfect.

NOW HERE IS THE PROOF that the Bible has alwaysbeen correct about the heart thinking = For as he

thinketh in his heart, so is he: Proverbs 23:7Editor’s Note: It does NOT say as your brain thinketh. Your heart can THINK, and ismade up of 40,000 neurons that can sense, feel, LEARN, and REMEMBER. Hereis actual physical proof for this RE-Discovered Biblical Truth:===================================================

A Spanish-speaking man began using words that he had not used prior to histransplant. He received his heart from a man named David who had died in a caraccident. David’s wife, Glenda, when meeting the recipient of her husband’s heartfor the first time, used the word “copacetic” to describe the situation. The recipi-ent’s mother quickly replied that her son had begun using that word for the firsttime and that it did not even have a Spanish equivalent, indicating that he had

adopted the word from David. The recipient’s son, who had before been a vege-tarian, began craving meat and greasy food after his transplant. His music prefer-ences also changed from favoring heavy metal to preferring fifties rock ’n’ roll. Allof these preferences turned out to be David’s preferences as well.===================================================

In another case, an 8-year-old girl who had received a heart transplant froma 10-year-old girl that had been murdered, began to have nightmares about thedonor’s murderer. After several consultations with a psychiatrist, it was decidedthat the police should be notified. The 8-year-old recipient was able to identify keyclues about the murder, including who the murderer was, when and how it hap-pened, and even the words spoken by the murderer to the victim.

The instructions she provided to a police sketch artist, were the exact likenessof the murderer that she had never seen. Her entire testimony turned out to betrue and the murderer was convicted for his crime.===================================================

Pearsall’s 73 different case studies point to the fact that both the brain and theheart hold important information about a person. According to his analysis, cellcommunication that occurs throughout the body on a continual basis can continueto occur after an organ has been removed from one person and transplanted intoanother. Information from the donor seems to install into the recipient’s memory.===================================================

Therefore you ministers MUST ask Father for a New Heart so that you will startobeying the 7 above points (and others that TO COG will supply), so that you min-isters will not be thrown into the Lake of Fire for Disobedience.

You ministers are commanded by TO COG to ask Father for a NEW Heart, because your present old heart is so evil and is anti-Bible = anti-Christ.

If you FAIL to ask Father for a new heart, and if you FAIL to change to theabove 7 Scriptures, then you are an Antichrist, you minister.

Editor’s Note: The anti-christs come out of the Churches of God. This is provenby the scriptures which state:

John 2:19 KJV: They went out from us, but they were

not of us; for if they had ... even now are there many antichrists . . .What are the characteristics of the anti-Christ? You “Identify” the anti-Christ

by his attributes. What is an Anti-Christ?The word “anti” means to be opposed to, as in OPPOSED TO the 7 truths stat-

ed above,According to John 2:19, The antichrists all came out of the COGS!

“Antichrist” occurs only three times in the Bible, and it isnever, ever used to describe a world leader, past, present orfuture. Rather, it is used to identify those who developedan untrue religious system such as your COG ministerwho opposed God’s above 7 points.

CONCLUSION OF THE MATTERYou Ministers have Refused to REPENT = “You”

are GUILTY OF ALL James 2:10YOUR Refusing to REPENT and follow

Scripture SHOWS/PROVES

“YOU” have a BAD ATTITUDETO GOD’S WORD

Therefore with your BAD UNrepentantATTITUDE “YOU” MINISTERS ARE PROVEN

ANTIBIBLE ANTICHRISTS.Solution>So you ministers:

1.) STOP being Anti-Christ against God’s 7 above“Scriptural” Verses / COMMANDS and

2.) Pray for a NEW Heart so that you will3.) START obeying the 7 above Scriptural Points, because

“Why will you die you people of [spiritual] Israel?” Ez 18:31Ez 22:26 Her priests have violated My law and profaned My

[7 listed above] Holy Things [and REFUSE to repent]!They have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths using Satan’s

International Date Line, and Holy Day averaging calendar.TO COG states again: PRAY for a new Heart you ministers

AND pray as David Prayed: “Teach me to DO Thy will [The 7above points]. Psalm 143:10

These 7 points ARE in God’s Bible, therefore these 7 pointsare God’s Will that you are refusing to do!

And START FOLLOWING/OBEYING your Father’s clearly writ-ten Words, for “WHY” should you ministers ETERNALLY DIE inyour SINS for your DISobedience of “DELIBERATELY” breakingScriptures.

“WHY” do you CHOOSE to die Eternally for “DIS”obedi-ence to clear Scripture?

Ministers who refuse to obey will now have to DIE Forever!Because you would Crucify Christ TWICE!

TO COG is the “Only” Church that is:

“CONTINUING” Mr. Armstrong’s Work of RESTORING All Things

All other churches are stuck in 1972 and refuse to Grow in Knowledge. 2 Peter 3:18

Let’s first define the phrase “cutting cor-ners.” According to the website EnglishLanguage & Usage hosted under Stack Ex-change, the meaning of the idiom is “to dosomething in the easiest, cheapest or

quickest way, often by ignoring rules or leavingsomething out especially at the expense of highstandards.” I believe we can all agree this is a prettysolid definition that we all would agree with.

Cutting corners has consequences. We’llnever know if there were shortcuts taken on thestructure of the World Trade towers. They weresupposed to have withstood the heat released inthose crashes.

This is a serious issue, with life and death con-sequences. What about the garage you take yourcar to? What if your brakes fail when that semijackknifes right in front of you? Do you wantyour mechanic cutting corners? Using cheapparts because he can make an extra $20 off abrake job?

In my industry the accepted rule is everythinghas to have a safety factor of at least two—the ideabeing that, if a floor has to support 1000 poundsof people and stuff, it has to be designed and builtto support 2000 pounds of people and stuff.

This is why there are building inspectors. Theirjob is to review the work and verify it has beendone to the standards it was designed to meet.Further, the owner hires an architect and paysthem to do exactly the same thing. There are twosets of eyes looking to see that corners are not cut.

The same thing happens in the aerospace in-dustry. The FAA has inspectors, as well as theairplane owners who have mechanics who arecertified and licensed and are reviewed by thirdparties to make sure the planes are properlymaintained.

But, as we know, mistakes happen. On Jan-uary 28, 1986, a rubber seal failed on one of theauxiliary solid-fuel rocket boosters of theChallenger spacecraft, and people died. One rub-ber seal. Was it a bad design, a faulty assembly? We don’t know, and never will.

I had a waterproof camera with a rubber sealonce. One time when I closed it, I evidentlydidn’t make sure absolutelyevery spec of contaminationwas cleaned off. The camerafailed in the ocean; one dropof water got in through thatseal. It’s very likely this samething happened to Challenger.

Perhaps a worker didn’twipe the seal thoroughly. May-be he was just getting backfrom lunch and didn’t think itwas really necessary to put onthe special gloves the instructions called for.And not using them introduced enough con-tamination to cause the seal to fail.

Far-fetched? Investigators work tirelessly tofind the source of a plane crash, train wreck, building fire, you name it. If a death is involved, our society leaves no stone unturned to find thereason so it will not happen again. Just the kindof hypothetical situations I proposed abovehave been found to be the cause of countless‘accidents.’

In the example I created above, an engineerwould have noted that absolutely no contamina-

tion of any sort is to be allowed to be present onthe seals or seating surfaces during assembly. Theworker cut a corner in not taking the time towash properly and put on their gloves. Or maybethe engineer cut a corner and thought, “Surelythe mechanics assembling this rocket engine willknow to use perfectly clean gloves!”—and saveda few minutes of writing by not clearly and bold-ly including this precaution in the documenta-tion on how to put thething together.

Remember the safetyfactor I mentioned earli-er? Every industry hasone. Ever worked on yourcar and had a couple ofextra bolts left over? Didit blow up when youstarted it? No, becausethe people who engi-neered the car, and thepeople who built it, add-ed fasteners to meet thatsafety standard.

Most of the time we allcut some corners. “Idon’t have time to . . .”“It’s too expensive for meto . . .” “No one will everknow if I don’t . . .”

We do this because we are human—meaningwe are selfish, ego-driven, lazy beings. We areconcerned first and foremost with our well-being, with our time, with our resources andwealth. The other person who has to follow us issecondary, at best. At worst, we actively takeadvantage of them.

And we justify our actions with phrases like,“A couple of bolts left out? Hey, what the nextowner doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”

It definitely will harm him because the otherperson thinks they are getting X, Y or Z. We haveeither allowed them to think this when it’s nottrue, or we have actively told them that X, Y or Zis what they are getting when we know they aren’t.

What’s the practical implication of this? Well,as a Christian we should always be fully honest.

Providing less to others than we want providedto us, or that we know others expect, is theft bydeception. So our standing with God is definite-ly in jeopardy.

That’s bad enough, but, realistically, that’s notgoing to make many people change. After all, “Ican repent tomorrow” is a very common thought.

Let me give you an actual example of the realcost of one of my recent corner-cutting experi-ences. Hopefully, you will admit this happens toyou regularly also, and you will see the cost toyourself of cutting those corners. (Maybe a littledinero out of your pocket will change your mind.)

Computers use software to operate. Softwareis a set of instructions telling the computer whatto do and when to do it. The more complex thetask, the more time and effort go into putting allthose instructions into a software program. So faronly humans can do this totally, and humans needto eat, so they need to be paid to write theseinstructions commonly known as ‘software.’

The computer operating system is one of thosevery complex instruc-tion sets. Therefore itusually costs plenty ofmoney. The betteroperating system youget (more bells andwhistles) the more itcosts. So, when a friendoffered to trade a newand better operatingsystem for some help toget a building permit tobuild a deck, I agreed.

The problem was, this was not a licensedpackage. Meaning thecompany that wrote allthe instructions hadnot given my friend theright to sell it and makemoney on it. So my

trade was a quid pro quo for something I had noright to receive.

The value of the time I invested was less thanthe software would have cost. We both were‘cutting corners’; he was getting a deck permitwithout paying an architect to design it, and Iwas getting a new and better operating systemfor less than it legitimately cost.

The software worked fine, for one year. I knewI was wrong at the time I made the deal, but Ijustified it in my mind. Or maybe I just ignoredit. Whatever the case, since God is merciful, Hefinally let the originator of the system,Microsoft, stop the hack my buddy had imple-mented from working any more.

The computer would still run, but it was get-ting flaky, and I couldn’t get the updates to down-

load. I spent a good four days’time on this before I figuredout what had happened. That’salmost a week’s worth of pay. Now, I’m not paid a lot, butfour days’ pay is more than thesoftware would have cost me.

This is a consistent result Isee in many people’s lives. Cut-ting corners ends up costingthem more than just doing theright thing in the first place. Yes,

the right thing always takes longer or costs more. But how often have you been sorry you

bought that cheap tool? Or didn’t take the timeto proofread your email or letter before sendingit? Yes, the cost of cutting corners in this life canbe high. However, the end-of-the-line cost canbe a lot higher.

Remember Luke 13:28 (Young’s Literal):“There shall be there the weeping and thegnashing of the teeth, when ye may see Abra-ham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets,in the reign of God, and yourselves being castout without.”

Why CuttingCorners Is BAD

King Solomon, A Good Bad ExampleThe Bible says King Solomon loved many foreign women. Thatis an understatement. Solomon married some Israelite wom-en, but a majority were Egyptian, Moabite, Ammonite,Edomite, Zidonian and Hittite from nations The Lord God hadsaid: “You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come into you, because they surely will turn away your heart aftertheir gods” (1 Kings 11:2).

Obviously, Solomon ignored God’s plain statement. The worldremembers King Solomon mostly for the prodigious assort-ment of female companionship he amassed as king of ancientIsrael. Solomon ‘collected’ 700 wives, plus 300 extra womenas sexual partners. The Bible says Solomon “clave to them inlove.” (How he managed that is not explained.)

Solomon was on the throne of Israel 40 years. The record ofhis rule indicates during later years he began bowing toAshtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians. He took an interestin Milcom, the abomination of the Ammonites. He built a‘high place’ upon a hill overlooking the city where all citizensof Jerusalem could view Chemosh, the abomination of Moab.

And Solomon did similarly for all his foreign wives. He alsoallowed burning incense and making sacrifices by his wivesto their pagan deities (some of which required a humansacrifice).

Eventually, a majority of Jerusalem citizenry became involvedin pagan activities. Their leader was corrupt. So, too, theybecame. That Solomon’s activities tainted the minds of theIsraelites is a lesson emphasized in 1 Corinthians 15:33: “Benot deceived. Evil communications corrupt good manners.”

Solomon’s wives must take much of the blame for turning hisheart away from The Lord God. The Bible says as much. Trulythe women were instigators and catalysts. But they did nothave Solomon in a hammerlock dragging him kicking andscreaming to their pagan festivities. He could have said, ‘No.’He was the king. One word and everyone could have died! But the word never came.

As for the women not being solely the fault, it is because therecord indicates a lot more had been going on in the back-ground, a lot more shenanigans not apparent from the firstpart of this verse: “When Solomon was old, his wives turnedaway his heart after other gods . . .” (1 Kings 11:4), becausethe last part of the verse continues “. . . and his heart was notperfect with The Lord his God.” His heart.

There is a difference between a catalyst and a responsibleparty. Everything leading up to Solomon’s apostasy from TheLord had been in Solomon’s control. He was the one respon-sible for allowing women in his harem to practice their witch-craft. We can be sure of this because when God decided toadminister punishment, Solomon was the one The Lord camelooking for, not the women.

The biblical book of Ecclesiastes is an interesting writing. Itcontains philosophical comment. It expounds wisdom andunderstanding. But when one reads Ecclesiastes closely itexposes how the author approached life. It shows that theauthor equated acquiring riches with good and wisdom. Theauthor even expresses the idea God placed ‘evil people’ onthe earth to provide ‘good people’ with what they need andwant. Ecclesiastes 2:26 (from Revised Standard Version): “Tothe man who pleases Him, God gives wisdom and knowledgeand joy. But to the sinner, He gives the work of gathering andheaping only to give to one who pleases God.”

The Bible record indicates God contacted Solomon four times. The first two were by night vision and ‘friendly.’ The third con-tact contained a caution about things that were going on. Thefourth contact was through a prophet telling Solomon thekingdom would be taken away from him.

As a young man, Solomon had asked God for wisdom so hecould justly rule the people (1 Kings 3:9). But after a whileSolomon began using his wisdom as a weapon. To callSolomon’s lifestyle opulent doesn’t tell the half of it.

His throne was custom designed of ivory and overlaid withthe best gold (1 Kings 10:18). All drinking vessels were fash-ioned from pure gold. Nothing personal was fashioned fromsilver save some minor trim attached to his personal, goldenchariot (1 Kings 10:21 / Song of Solomon 3:8-10). By the20th year of reign, Solomon could only have the most expen-sive of items (1 Kings 10:10-29). It was around this timeGod’s third contact was made.

There is nothing wrong with acquiring or having wealth.God told Satan that Job was righteous, and Job was verywealthy. Abraham had much. The robe Jesus wore at thetime of his crucifixion was woven in one piece. The Romansoldiers refused to tear it apart because of its value anddrew lots for it.

Solomon began his reign wealthy having inherited muchfrom his father, David. But it seems he always wanted more, and heavily taxed the people to get it and satisfy his person-al pleasures and lusts. So, having wealth is not a problem. The manner in which it is acquired can be. One needs toremember that coveting and lusting both are mentioned inthe Commandments.

You can read more about Solomon’s triumphs and failures, his contacts from God, the executions of Shimei a relativeof former King Saul and Joab former captain of David’sarmies, the Queen of Sheba’s visit to Jerusalem, Solomon’sties with King Hiram of Tyre and shipbuilding enterprise, aswell as results from some modern archaeology digs in citiesSolomon built. Primary groupThe family is the primary human

group. The great purpose and benefitof a group is in how its membersrelate to each other, the fact that emo-tions can be developed and containedwithin safe boundaries.

One of the most serious threats tohumanity in any era comes when rela-tionships are not contained withinfamilies. When we cast down bound-aries between people, we pay a highprice in terms of safety, belonging andemotional development.

Our emotions give us life as hu-mans. Without them we are only halfliving.

However, those feelings need todevelop and be managed in a caring, accepting environment.

For children, the emotional con-tainment their mother gives them is ofgreat importance while they learn tocope with and direct those feelingsboth internally and externally.

Boys must grow up with emotionalstability and the ability to express feel-ings, otherwise they are not in a posi-tion as fathers to provide the warmstability needed by their wives andchildren. This emotional containmentwill be explored further another time.

Start a familyHealthy progression to adulthood

directs that the children should not re-main with parents for life but should“leave father and mother,” to quote Mat-thew 19:5, and start a new family unit.

All groups of people tend to be-come incestuous in time in the senseof members drawn into alliances theywould not normally choose, withsome dominant forces crushing the

growth of others. For everyone to re-ceive maximum opportunity to devel-op to maturity, letting one force dom-inate for too long is constricting.

Children copy their parents for atime, but then they need to move outon their own.

The family cannot be a place of fearor anxiety, but one of love, as 1 John4:18 says, “because fear involves tor-ment.”

How do we consistently reach this

type of love that is natural affection?Firstly, by parents passing this form

of relating on to their children and, inaddition, by nurturing children andadults within the secure boundaries offamily, where people can rely on theirattachments and where genuine com-fort is readily available.

Rise above self-doubtAnother essential factor is develop-

ing healthy, strong character within

the family because people are notplagued by self-doubt, hurt, anger, depression or alienation.

There is something spontaneousabout natural affection. We read inRomans 12:10 of the need to be“kindly affectionate to one anotherwith brotherly love, in honour givingpreference to one another.”

However, if we have to drum uplove by deliberately doing acts ofkindness, we are not being sponta-

neous and we may even be manipulat-ing an attachment in the other person.

Two sides of attachmentAttachment is both reciprocal and

interdependent. According to Strong’sConcordance, the Hebrew word rea’,meaning friend, refers to a neighbor, companion, brother or lover and is areciprocal term.

For example, if you are my neigh-bor, then it follows that I am yours.

Hence Proverbs 18:24, “A man whohas friends must himself be friendly.”

Aiming to pleaseSo how do parents pass on this type

of bond to their children? The Biblesays in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up achild in the way he should go, andeven when he is old he will not departfrom it.”

The most important tool parentshave in rearing their children is the

child’s own desire, innate and God-given, to please its parents. A cultureof pleasing each other is reciprocaland will produce the best results inchild-rearing.

Reciprocal friendship has to dowith influencing the other and receiv-ing the other’s influence in return, which can be done only within a com-munity when individuals respect eachother’s personal boundaries, beingfriendly but not invading another’sprivacy, or “space,” as we call it today.

Proverbs 25:17 advises, “Seldom setfoot in your neighbour’s house, lest hebecome weary of you and hate you.”

Others’ energyBesides reciprocal attachment, the

most powerful tool in a relationship isto value each other. As we learnedfrom the adage “I’m okay, you’reokay,” when I value myself I will tendto value others.

We receive energy from otherswhen we are valued and the comfortto find solutions when life troubles us.

The bonds of attachment are theglue that binds the family together.Next time we will consider moreclosely the matter of attachment.

My book Comfort My People, SaithYour God, is available from Amazonin paperback and on Kindle.

The bonds of attachment are the glue that binds the family

The most important tool parents have in rearingtheir children is the child’s own desire, innate

and God-given, to please its parents.

We have to learn through ourprayer life and relationship with Godthat He loves us and is a gentle physi-cian when dealing with our faults.

Learning to trustOver time, I have learned to trust

God with more and more aspects ofmy life. I believe that, even thoughGod already knows what I need anddesire, He wants me to share thisopenly.

Sharing troubling events, failuresand struggles builds my relationshipwith God and allows me to share morewith Him. I can really trust that, whilethings may not always turn out theway I want them to, they turn out forthe best, in God’s time.

Giving consentI have come to view the process of

sharing aspects of my life with God asgiving God my informed consent tochange those areas or to change meand how I deal with them.

In signing a medical-consent form,I am acknowledging that the surgeonor physician is an expert and I am giv-ing him or her permission to proceedwith the surgery or treatment I need.

I am trusting that I am in goodhands. I may not fully understandhow the process of surgery or healingmay work, but I am trusting that thesurgeons knows what they are doingand that the steps taken will be formy benefit.

Not withholdingSimilarly, I may not fully under-

stand how God will bring about the

changes, but I believe He will alwaysact for my good.

When I bring things to God inprayer, I am acknowledging that Ineed His help.

It makes no more sense to hide myneeds and shortcomings in prayer thatit would to deny health problems as Iconsult with a physician.

Spiritual change is often a complexprocess and one that will last a life-time, if we are open to it. We may

need to keep coming to God with thesame concerns. In doing so, we buildincreasing trust, which allows us tosee our own needs and feelings moreclearly.

Gaining a clearer focusHave you ever experienced praying

about an issue and then being inundat-ed with seeing that problem at everyturn? I have.

It is uncanny how I may run intoothers who annoy me and make meaware of my impatience. At othertimes, I find myself faced with situa-tions where I find it hard to set goodboundaries.

God is allowing me to becomeaware of that problem or sin in mylife.

That can be a painful process, but,as I am aware of my failings, I am alsoaware that God is working with me to

help me overcome them. Then I cankeep turning to God and asking forHis help.

Ideally, we can reach a point wherewe trust God more and more readilywith every aspect of our lives. Maybewe can one day truly pray only for Hiswill.

I believe that in the meantime Godvalues the act of our sharing specificneeds with Him, not because He does

not already know our needs.Rather, He values this habit be-

cause it brings us closer to Him, buildsour trust in Him and gives us thecourage to examine ourselves furtherso we can continue to be open to heal-ing and growth.

Accessing our heartThere is a movie about C.S. Lewis

that I love called Shadowlands. In one scene, there is an interesting

interchange between Lewis and anOxford colleague. The colleague ismocking Lewis for his faith and ask-ing if he really believes his prayer willchange God.

Change meLewis replies, “I don’t pray to

change God. I pray to change me.”This is a profound insight and con-

sistent with the Scriptures. Whilethere are examples of God hearing theprayers of the faithful and changingcourse, one of the most important pur-poses of prayer is to allow God accessto our hearts and minds so He canchange us.

God wants to change us both forour own healing and so we can be ofservice.

While it is good to pray for theneeds of others and the world as awhole, it is important to also share ourneeds with God.

This includes the need for help inchanging to become the people Godwants us to be, so we can be of serviceto Him.

God certainly wants to help us.When we give Him our informed con-sent in this process, I believe He val-ues this invitation and will respond inboth powerful and gentle ways.

I may not know how God will bring changes, but I trust He will

It makes no more sense to hide my needs andshortcomings in prayer that it would to deny health

problems as I consult with a physician.

Jesus Christ came as High Priest with the perfect tabernaclemain point of the things we are say-ing: We have such a High Priest, whois seated at the right hand of the throneof the Majesty in the heavens, aMinister of the sanctuary and of thetrue tabernacle which the Lord erect-ed, and not man.”

Notice a few scriptures about thetabernacle:

Hebrews 9:7: “But into the secondpart the high priest went alone once ayear, not without blood, which heoffered for himself and for the peo-ple’s sins committed in ignorance.”

Verse 11: “But Christ came as HighPriest of the good things to come, withthe greater and more perfect taberna-cle not made with hands, that is, not ofthis creation.”

Verse 24: “For Christ has not en-tered the holy places made withhands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appearin the presence of God for us.”

What it means

What is the greatest value of re-hearsing the lessons of the priesthoodand tabernacle in Hebrews?

The truth about the priesthood andtabernacle should influence a disciple

to make changes in his life. Manyvaluable principles of Christian livingare found in Hebrews 10-13.

And those principles of Christianliving are a reaction to the truth aboutthe priesthood and tabernacle. Noticethe word therefore:

Hebrews 10:19-25: “Therefore, breth-ren, having boldness to enter theHoliest by the blood of Jesus, by anew and living way which He conse-crated for us, through the veil, that is,His flesh, and having a High Priestover the house of God, let us draw

near with a true heart in full assuranceof faith, having our hearts sprinkledfrom an evil conscience and our bod-ies washed with pure water.

“Let us hold fast the confession ofour hope without wavering, for Hewho promised is faithful.

“And let us consider one another inorder to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of our-selves together, as is the manner ofsome, but exhorting one another, andso much the more as you see the Dayapproaching.”

Hebrews 12:1-2: “Therefore wealso, since we are surrounded by sogreat a cloud of witnesses, let us layaside every weight, and the sin whichso easily ensnares us, and let us runwith endurance the race that is setbefore us, looking unto Jesus, the

author and finisher of our faith, whofor the joy that was set before Himendured the cross, despising theshame, and has sat down at the righthand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:12-16: “Thereforestrengthen the hands which hangdown, and the feeble knees, and makestraight paths for your feet, so thatwhat is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. Pursue peacewith all people, and holiness, withoutwhich no one will see the Lord: look-ing carefully lest anyone fall short ofthe grace of God; lest any root of bit-terness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled; lestthere be any fornicator or profane per-son like Esau, who for one morsel offood sold his birthright.”

Hebrews 13:15: “Therefore by Himlet us continually offer the sacrifice ofpraise to God, that is, the fruit of ourlips, giving thanks to His name.”

RENTON, Wash.—In his 13thannual One God Seminar (some-times called the One God Con-

ference) Ken Westby provided a pro-gram for nine speakers, includinghimself, and about 60 people in theaudience.

The event spanned two days, Nov.7 and 8, 2015, in the Red Lion Hotelin Renton, a Seattle suburb.

The series of seminars began in2002 in the Seattle area and has in-cluded meetings in Tyler, Texas;Sterling, Va. (near Washington, D.C.);Akron, Ohio; Atlanta, Ga.; Albany,N.Y.; Grapevine, Texas; andthe Pasadena, Calif., area. This year was the fourthtime the seminar has con-vened in Seattle or a suburb.

Speakers and theirsayings

The following, in alpha-betical order, is a list of thenine speakers, titles of theirpresentations and a brief quo-tation from each presenter.

(Note that, in general, conference presenters at-tempt to acknowledge theSonship, Messiahship andSaviorship of Jesus whilerefuting the Jesus-is-Goddoctrines of the Trinity andBinity.):

Sir Anthony Buzzard,McDonough, Ga., “TheShema and Psalm 110:1:“The Major Keys to theMind of Jesus and Paul”:

“The colossal, earth-shak-ing point here is that Deu-teronomy 6:4 gives us noTrinity, nor does Jesus inMark 12:29.

“If this is so, then thepostbiblical Trinity is ex-posed as unfaithful to Jesus.Christianity then would bethe only world religionwhich begins by discardingits own founder’s creed . . .

“The churches are bur-dened by a stifling weight oftradition which has sub-merged Jesus and his keyteaching about who God is.It is really about accepting Jesus orrefusing him.”

Ray Gebauer, Vancouver, Wash.,“Incomplete Context: The Source ofMost False Doctrine”:

“Nothing in the world has anymeaning without context. No word, situation or circumstance has inherentand absolute meaning without con-text, which is the surrounding wordsor environment . . .

“All false doctrines are because of

an incomplete or inaccurate context.”John Lemley, Vancouver, Wash.,

“The God of the Old Testament andHis Relationship to Jesus”:

“There is no hint in the book ofActs that Jesus was the God of the OldTestament.

“On the contrary, God is alwaysdescribed as the One who promised, sent, inspired, resurrected and glori-fied Jesus. All of the major eventsrelayed in the Old Testament areattributed to God, the Father of Jesus, not to Jesus.”

Edwin Pund, Burien, Wash., “KeyScriptures Documenting Biblical

Christology”:“God is not a man; Numbers 23:19;

Hosea 1:9; 1 Samuel 15:29. Jesus wasa man; John 8:40; Acts 2:22; 1Timothy 2:5 . . . God is eternal, had nobeginning . . . Jesus had a beginning. . . Matthew 1:18.”

Noel Rude, Scottsburg, Ore.,“Is God Truly Faithful? (The Cove-nant Confusion)” and “Messiah inProphecy”:

“In the New Testament there is no

argument against the Trinity/Binity.Why? Because the doctrine hadn’tbeen thought up yet.”

Robert Sackett, Burien, Wash.,“How to Effectively Share the OneGod Doctrine”:

“There’s no silver bullet that youcan take and convince a Trinitarianthat he’s wrong. It’s not going to hap-pen. Every individual is so different.”

James Townliand, Tacoma, Wash.,“Overcoming Difficulties When Dis-cussing Biblical Monotheism”:

“What is the greatest problem inthe Christian church today? Lack oftithes? Loud music? Unbelief? Apa-

thy? Ignorance of Scrip-ture?

“These are only symp-toms. The real problemis deception.”

Ken Westby, Renton,Wash., “Why Jesus Nev-er Wrote Anything” and“Time to Test the TrinityTest and Identify theReal Heresy”:

“We do not apologizefor challenging ortho-doxy where it has mud-dled and corrupted theholy doctrine of God.Our seminars are de-signed to help you de-cide for yourself.”

Carlos Xavier, Mc-Donough, Ga. (Mr. Xa-vier appeared in earlierJOURNAL articles as CarlosJiminez), “Begotten orMade? The Origin of theSon of God vs. the Incar-nation of God the Son”:

“Winners write theirown history . . . [Thedoctrine of the Trinity/Binity] undermines thehuman Jesus. I recom-mend Bart Ehrman’sbook The Orthodox Cor-ruption of Scripture.”

Seminar solidity“The One God Seminar,

sponsored by ACD” (Mr.Westby’s Association forChristian Development),was a solid success,” Mr.Westby concluded.

“The presentations were rich in con-tent and the discussions lively,” he said.“The room was packed and the spiritwithin was warm and alert to learnmore of our great God and His Son.”

What’s happening atBibleStudy.org

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.—Alan Ruth reports on what’s beenhappening at BibleStudy.org, hisBible- and Christianity-relatedwebsite.

“The site has just completed aneight-part map series on NewTestament churches,” Mr. Ruthinformed THE JOURNAL.

The series, at biblestudy.org/maps/new-testament-churches/introduction.html, gives brief infor-mation on 39 cities where fellow-ships are believed to have existedin the 1st century.

“The maps used in the serieswere created by the site,” he said.

The site also recently addedseveral articles that, like the restof the site’s materials, are alltotally free and do not require anylog-in or password to access:

“What Did Ancient RomansWrite About Jesus?”

“Is Dancing a Sin?”“What Is the Nazarite Vow?

In September 2015BibleStudy.org’s “PersonalAnswers to Bible Questions” serv-ice celebrated its 13th full year ofoperation, announced Mr. Ruth.

“Year to date, more than 1,100questions from the public havebeen sent in,” he said.

BibleStudy.org’s popularity hasfully recovered, and then some, after a slump in the number ofvisitors.

“The site began to regain itstraffic in May 2014,” he revealed.“It was just before that month, after three years of struggle, thatGod mercifully revealed the site’ssteep decline in visitors was dueto an attack on its credibility by atleast three other sites.”

His site is still suffering fromattacks.

“At the present time at least 25sites—which I regrettably keeptrack of—are seeking to hurtBibleStudy.org’s popularity.”

The site attracted its eightmillionth visitor for the year onNov. 8.

“For 2015 we’re on track toexceed the site’s 2014 popularityby more than three millionpeople.”

Mr. Ruth said he appreciatessuggestions regarding sitecontent, including advice aboutchanges needed, new materialand problems.

“The overwhelming majority ofsite visitors either have a basicknowledge of Scripture or virtuallynone at all,” he said. “Yoursuggestions, especially for newsite materials, play a vital role inhelping spread the gospel as faras possible.”
