Prompt: Referring back to your noun chart, please explain (tell all about) each type of noun. Please give an example of each type of noun as well. This does NOT have to be in paragraph form. You can make this prompt into a list form.
1. Narrative: n. writing that tells a STORY.Ex. Fiction writing involves narratives.
2. Resumed: v. began again.Ex. The campers resumed the hike after
stopping for lunch. Prefix: re-=again

Clear your desk of everything but your notes handout, your textbook, and a writing utensil.
Directions: Write each of the following sentences. Box the unfamiliar word and underline the context clues. Finally, tell which of the three types of ways we look for context clues is being used.
1. The ruckus, or rebellious situation, caused the police station to be called.
2. There are many great professions in today’s society such as being a teacher, lawyer, or a doctor.
3. The gloomy, not pretty, weather caused the soccer game to be cancelled.
4. In retrospect, looking back at the past, I wish I would have spent more time relaxing this weekend.
5. The furtive, not obvious, fox captured its prey.
