for papers 14 lb bond - 27 lb bond.– Some exceptions may include: low quality paper, cards,

envelopes and thick paper (e.g. drawing paper). These types of stock are guaranteed to run at 130ppm, but may not eject properly at 180ppm.

RISO i Quality System™The RISO i Quality System offers various improvements in quality and user-friendliness:• Assurance of optimum print quality.• Prevention of operator error in loading supplies.• Warning of shortages in remaining ink / master volume.• Minimal paper waste.•The voltage that is sent through the thermal head varies depending on:

– Color being used– Specific location of each master on the roll (beginning of the roll, middle, end) – Date of last use for each cylinder

•Print pressure is also controlled by these Factors, as well as the idling time.

The control panel on RZ990 is divided into two separate areas. The primary area features physical buttons and progress arrow, while the secondary area consists of a touch screen display panel.

All default settings are available from the dedicated buttons in the primary area for easy, intuitive operation, while custom operations are accessed via logical menus on the touch screen.

Low Operating Sound: Operating sound typically increases when printing speed increases, however the RZ990 has been designed to reduce operating sound, making it an easy fit for all environments.

Notes:

- Increases to 72.0dB at 180ppm

• New system produces less “Printing Press” sound (the sound when the pressure roller hits the drum)

Protect Mode:

• Improvement over current “Confidential” function.

• Protects classified documents on customers discretion.

• When the “Protect” setting is activated (access from the Admin. Tab):

– the “Confidential” function will be displayed on the LCD panel when printing is complete, whether discarding the master remaining on the Print drum or not.

– Master Disposal Box is locked not to be taken out during stand-by.

• Target markets: Government, Military, and other accounts where confidentiality is a must.

• The pressure plate of the master ejection unit physically locks the master disposal box.

• Protects the Master disposal box, while the machine is in Standby mode.

• When the Master Disposal Box is full or in the event of a master jam in the disposal box, the Master Disposal Box will unlock.

- For full protection, padlock the master disposal box lever.

- Appropriate Padlock should be secured by the customer.
