ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT

is an academic exercise that:

•systematic,

•coherent and guided

•against a field of knowledge, the use of relevant principles and concepts and techniques relevant to problem solving.

SYNOPSIS

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT 1 course will provide

knowledge for students on how to write proposal for their final project.

In the final project, student must do research

that is related to environmental engineering.

This course will cover the format of the proposal, problem definition and experimental evaluation to plan the final project.

At the end of the semester, students will present their proposal to a selected panel for the review.

GOAL Enhance knowledge and skills in the process of

knowledge,

Brainstorming, Problem solving and presentation of findings to

produce graduates who are competent and credible.

This goal must be achieved through the work of research /study and preparation of the report systematically and professionally combine academic knowledge, skills and experiences that have been learned during the study period

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME

Upon completion of the course, students should

be able to:

1. distinguish appropriately on writing project proposal with problem statement. (PLO1-C4)

2. display appropriately methodology that suitable to planning project research to overcome the problem. (PLO2-P4)

3. integrate critical thinking and problem solving skills in develop research clearly. (PLO4-A4)

TYPES OF PROJECT

i. Researchusing the theory, collect and manipulate data such as using statistical analysis tools

ii. Case study

Identify and solve the problem, analyze data and recommend solutions to the problem statement in the form of a framework and action plan

iii. DesignThe production design such as model, prototype or design system by using the appropriate techniques.

FUNCTION OF SUPERVISORSUPERVISOR STUDENT

Giving guidance on the nature of

research and the standard expected,

the planning of the research

programme, relevant literature and

sources, required research techniques

and methodologies, academic honesty

and drawing attention to relevant

regulations, including those relating to

plagiarism.

• Meet with your supervisor regularly and

give due weight to any guidance or

corrective action proposed, keeping a

written record of your discussions

where appropriate

• Draw up a research plan and timetable

of work in consultation with your

supervisor, and to keep relevant

records of all aspects of your work

FUNCTION OF LOG BOOK

To record all work done for PROJECT.

Title, objectives, scope, work plan should be included .

Important dates related to implementation and evaluation of projects.

Date of meeting with supervisors and discussion, advice and instructions related.

Preparation, problems, proposed solutions and the necessary tools.

Raw data and / or results achieved.

Related sketches.

Be brought to each meeting with the supervisor.

Supervisors must verify the entries in each meeting

Seminars and seminar papers

The seminar is the presentation day for Project

Purpose:

• Provide training for students to be able to present the work which has been carried out by orally.

• Provide opportunities for exchange of views between the panel of assessors, supervisors and other students.

Conducted at the end of session/ semesters.

Students must provide a proposal to panels before Project 1 seminar.

Students must provide a technical paper summarizing the results about 8-12 pages The format template for technical paper will be provided by Project Coordinator/ Supervisor.

PROJECT REPORT

The project report consists of

proposal/preliminary report for the first part of the project.

Submission of Project Report:

Submission of project report to the supervisor

must be made in accordance with the specified date.

Submission of project reports that are bound

to be made on the date set by the coordinator.
