1 Peter 2 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises that ye should shew forth the praises of Himof Him (excellence; virtue)who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:
1 Peter 3 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Dwell with them according to knowledge
Make every effortevery effort to understand her needsneeds and desiresdesires, seeking God's WisdomGod's Wisdom to be
able to bless her.
A husband is responsible unto Godresponsible unto God for the way he loves, understands, respects, and treats his wife.

All of our behaviorbehavior must reflect genuine love.
Such love is not centerednot centered upon self, but uponbut upon the woman you married because you love heryou love her.

How muchHow much should a husband love his wife?
As much as Jesus loves the churchloves the church;
He gave Himself for usHe gave Himself for us.
There's no place for, "What about me?"
"What do I get out of it?"
It's all about herIt's all about her.

We will never put downnever put down, ridiculeridicule, or harshly criticizeharshly criticize that which we value.
We will nevernever lie to, cheat, or deceive one we esteemone we esteem.
Giving honorGiving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker weaker vessevessel,

Giving honor -- She doesn't have to earn it;
She's your wifeShe's your wife.
She is more delicatedelicate; take carecare not to break her.
God is your Father-in-law
Treat His daughter well.

A man who doesn't treat his wife as God has directed, will not get a prayera prayer heard or answered.
In so doing we show forth the excellence and virtue of God.
