Problem Description

Today’s there is a huge discrepancy between research and commercial battery development. The main reason is that most research laboratories can not carry out electrochemical testing of their materials in full battery samples of industrial sizes.

About 1000 R&D centers and university need reliable, portable and low cost laboratory equipment to assemble battery samples of industrials size.

Stage of development

The Figures presented sampler of Lab equipmentKNUTD has developed unique sets of equipment and Lab. technology for assembling the following types of cylindrical batteries:

coin cells of 2016 and 2325 sizes;

cylindrical batteries of AA and D sizes.

The above equipments installed successfully by KNUTD in the R&D centre of Superior Graphite Co. USA. The equipment allow Superior Graphite Co. to provided novel energetic materials to the battery market.

Targeted Market Segment

• University which carry out R&D in the field of power sources;

• R&D centers of manufacture of battery’s components;

• Market related with testing of different promising active materials, electrolytes, separators, and other novel materials for battery market.

In the world about 1000 R&D centers carry out investigation deal with power sources. This laboratories may be potentials market for our laboratory equipments and test their materials in the batteries of industrial size.

Opportunities

• We would like to found potential business partners in order to support a joint product development of modern battery technologies, especially in the field of lithium-ion battery.

• We would like to develop the scientific and business relationships with research and for-profit companies specializing in the field of development of different battery components (active materials, electrolytes, separators, additives, etc.) in order testing and commercialization of their R&D results in battery samples of standard industrial sizes.

• We estimate the cost of financial support for this work from 300K to 700K depending on a standard size equipment set.
