This module shows how to create a new identity record. Where no suitable matches between an unmatched record and an existing identity container record have been found, you can choose to create a new identity from the unmatched record.

This will mint a new NLA party identifier and associate it with the party record.

This module is a step-by-step guide to using the TIM interface to create a new identity record inTrove.

To create a new identity:

1. Click and drag the record from the unmatched records tab on the left hand side of the screen and place it directly over the top of the Drag record here to create new identity black bar.

When you have placed the unmatched record correctly, the bar change to orange.

You can now let go of the mouse.

2. The system will display a pop-up message asking you to confirm or cancel the creation of a new identity.  You can add an optional note. If you choose to add a note, it will display in the audit trail of the new identity beside your username. The note will not be visible in Trove 3. Click Create new identity, or click Cancel if you do not want to create a new identity.

4. The system will create the new identity and assign it an NLA party identifier.

The new identity will appear on the right hand side of the screen under the purple Trove identities tab.

The record will disappear from the green Unmatched records tab on the left.
