6. Heat Transfer LabIntroduction to the Lab
All experiments conducted in this lab combine elements of theory and practice. Many of the concepts and
basic theories which the student learns in the lectures of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
are demonstrated and confirmed through different experiments. The laboratory is also used for senior design
projects as well. The facilities available in the lab are:-
• Thermal conductivity apparatus
• Thermal conductivity using vacuum pump
• Free convection and Forced convection apparatus
• Heat exchangers performance apparatus
• Thermal radiation unit
• Refrigeration and air conditioning unit
The Fluid laboratory provides a “hands on” environment that is crucial for developing students understanding
of theoretical concepts and is available in Civil engineering department. It has an essential and effective role
enabling mechanical engineering students to gain educational understanding and experimental information in
the field of Fluid Mechanics. It is used for a series of experiments serving Fluid Mechanics course and also
helps for Senior Design Projects.

7. Machine Design Lab
Introduction to the Lab
CAD Lab of this college is established for concept design and product realization. CAD is used for
detailed engineering of 3D models using Solid Works and 2D drawings using Auto Cad 2010 of physical
components. Computer-aided design (CAD) is the use of computer systems to assist in the creation,
modification, analysis, or optimization of a design.
CAD software is used to increase the productivity of the designer, improve the quality of design and
improve communications through documentation. The student will receive “hands-on” training and will
develop the techniques that are essential in today’s job market. The student will learn how to adapt basic
technical drafting techniques to generate working and production drawings.
Courses supported include:
ME 201, ME 307, ME 414 and ME 415
