How to Place Your Bid:
1. All silent auction items are displayed on tables in the gym and
have a bid sheet beside them. Persons wishing to bid must write
their bid number and the amount of bid on the sheet. Use only
the bidder number assigned to you (register for this number at
the clerk trailer) This is your identification number.
2. Your bid must exceed the current bid by the increment listed on
the sheet or more. You may bid on an item as many times as you
wish.
3. The silent auction will close April 30 at 12 noon. Winning bids
will be decided by the last written bid on the sheet and circled by
the auction official.
4. Buy This Now option: You will see the Buy this Now! icon lo-
cated on select bid sheets. Just put your bid number on that line
and you can say that you have bought it.
5. If you have the winning bid, please pay for your purchase at the
clerk’s trailer. When you have your receipt, you may remove the
item.

ART AUCTION
Meet The Artists
Dan Barthold: Dan is a hometown Manheim artist, who does
sketches of local points of interest.
Andy Smith: Andy is a self-taught artist. He has an in-born
talent, fine-tuned by practice, discipline and dedication. His
reward for all his hard work is the ability to paint and sell his
watercolors full-time. His residence and studio are at 4 N.
Spruce St., Lititz, where people come to watch him paint.
Ned Foltz: Ned grew up in Lititz, Lancaster County, PA and
graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art in graphic
design. Ned now does between twenty and thirty shows a year,
including some at his own shop and others at museums and craft
shows in other states (www.foltzpottery.com).
Naomi Miller: Naomi grew up near Manheim. She started her
artwork in oils, and recently began enjoying watercolor. She
was a student of artist, Larry Lombardo. She is also the
grandmother of MCDS students, Caleb and Abigail & Rachel
Nolt.
Kenneth Sangrey: Kenneth Sangrey is a Manheim resident
who hand carves birds. His shop is in his own home in the
borough of Manheim. Ken travels from Maryland, to Michigan,
to Maine, to set up for as many as six shows per year.
Walter Patschorke: From rural Lititz, Walter’s expertise
included oils, watercolors, and pen and ink drawings. Since his
death in October, 1989, his work is remembered as the extension
of the man to his art, and the respect for and reverence of life
and God.
Tim Mateer: Tim’s interest in wildlife photography has taken
him to Alaska, Canada and Africa. He graduated from
Millersville University with an Elementary Education Degree.
He taught school and was a building principal at Hempfield
School District.

Dave Eldreth: Eldreth Pottery produces traditional Salt-glazed
Stoneware and Redware pottery. All pottery is handcrafted in
Lancaster County using traditional Pennsylvania German
production methods. (www.eldrethpottery.com)
Linda Pederson: A full time artist for several years, Linda has
been drawing and painting since childhood.
Linda is an active member of the Valley Art Association in
Hagerstown, MD; The Maryland Pastel Society, and the Mid-
Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
Linda works in both oils and pastels and her style is
representational. Linda’s paintings are available for purchase at the
Mansion House Art Gallery in Hagerstown, MD, and Linleigh Art
Studio and Gallery in Waynesboro, PA. She accepts commissions
and welcomes visitors to her studio. Linda is the grandmother of
MCDS student, Julia McAlonis.
Timothy White: Tim graduated from MCDS and is a tenth grade
student at Lancaster Mennonite School. He became interested in
photography when he was part of MCDS photography club a few
years ago. He enjoys capturing the beauty of wildlife in his

Sharon Willet: Sharon Willet has recently been awarded the distinc-
tion of Lancaster’s Favorite Artist for the year 2010 in the Lancaster
Newspapers, Inc., 10th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards. She currently
works out of her home studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She expresses
herself through watercolor.
TF Hermansader: For more than three decades, Tom Hermansader has
been putting the area's most noted landmarks onto canvas. Amazingly
detailed and consistent in capturing the true colors of "hometown", this
art has forever preserved both the old and new of Lancaster City and
more than a hundred locations in and around Pennsylvania
(www.hermansaderartgallery.com).
Erma Wenger: Erma Wenger is a grandmother of MCDS students
John and Karissa Wenger. Her work can be found Tuesdays at Roots
Market .
Liz Hess: Liz grew up in Honduras and Lancaster County. Liz travels
abroad with her colleague, Freiman Stoltzfus, painting on location. She
sells her work through Liz Hess Gallery and at Wenger Gallery in
Ronks, Pa. (www.lizhess.com)
Michael Wise: Michael Wise is a local artist who works mainly in
watercolor. He teaches art at Hempfield High School.

Caring for your Quilts
Please be aware that quilts should not be stored in plastic bags. It is
suggested that if they are going to be stored, a large pillowcase or
tissue paper works best. Quilts are washable. Please note that some
dark colors could bleed. Machine wash in lukewarm water on
permanent press cycle. Use a mild soap (or Cold Water Cheer).
Line dry and/or put in dryer on air fluff only. Do not use heat
settings on dryer.
