1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, [and] called:

To fight in order to obtain something that is desired.

To fight to keep something that has been earned.

To fight to recover something that has been stolen from you.

If you have to contend, it is an indication that there is an opponent or adversary trying to stop you obtaining your desired result.

One of your greatest opponents that you will every face is yourself.

The greatest enemy is the inner-me.

22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

If you lose your faith you lose everything that comes by faith.

Every attack on your life is ultimately an attack on your faith.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
