■ Community service – Both inside and outside of school. Taking pride in

their community and wanting to improve it.

■ Go the extra mile with independent study both at home or at school

with use of the available areas as mentioned before.

■ Holiday leave – not in term time (Expected Friday 15th June their last

exam) plenty of time to go away then.

■ Uniform – check the website. Packing bag to ensure shoes, pe kit,

equipment, tie, school shoes etc. Simple things that will reduce any

possible issues at school.

■ Balance between work and play. Very important that they have

downtime as well as working hard. Still allow them to enjoy things and

do certain things.

Expectations cont…Attendance

■ Do you know what your child’s attendance is ?

■ Do you know what it means ?

■ Do you know what effects it will have on their future ?

90% sounds good but …..

■ this is the equivalent of missing half a day every week !

( Would someone keep you on in a job if you missed this amount of time ?)

■ Over a school year this is 4 weeks –100 lessons lost.

■ Between now and their exams this would be nearly 7 school days lost, 35 lessons!
