International Guest Lecture Programme was conducted by Post Graduated and Research Department of Commerce on 07.08.2018 at AV Hall. Sri. Palanivel Raja,

M.Sc., PGDCA, Operation Technologist, Qatar Gas LNG Ltd, Doha, Qatar, acted as a resource person and delivered a lecture on “Enhancing Employability of Commerce Graduates”.

One Day Workshop On 28.08.2018, 10 students under the supervision of the research scholar Mr.M.Jegadeesan, participated in the one day workshop on “Implementation on GST” held at Sourashtra College, Madurai.

One Day Guest Lecture Programme: On 21.08.2018, CA. Saravana Kumar served as a special guest in the one day guest lecture programme and gave a lecture on “Opportunity for Career Development”.

On 23.08.2018, two third year students J.Parthiban and B.Vignesh participated in the One day conference for college students and presented a paper on “Green Market in India” held at St. Antony College of Arts and Science for Women, Dindigul and they won the best paper prize.

Orientation Programme on How to Crack an Online Exam was conducted by the Department of Computer Science on 01.08.2018 at AV Hall. Chief Guest Sri.B.Vignesh Kumar, Trainer, Career Skype, Chennai delivered a lecture about “How to Crack an Online Exam”.

Extension Activities: On 13.08.2018 and 14.08.2018 Department of Computer Science conducted the Extension Activities Programme. Youth Red Cross:

On 04.08.2018, Dr.P.Pattinathar, Head of the Economics and Madurai District Coordinator of Youth Red Cross participated in the Youth Red Cross Zonal meeting for District Coordinators held at the Indian Youth Red Cross, Tamilnadu Branch Office Chennai.

NCC/NSS

During 03.08.2018 and 12.08.2018, 35 students participated in the Annual Training Camp and 12 students participated in the Republic Day Selection camp held in APA College, Palani.

During 03.08.2018 and 12.08.2018, M.Hariharasudhan (II English Literature) participated in the selection camp for participating in Army Camp to be held in New Delhi and got selected for next level conducted in NCC training academy, Idayapatti, Madurai.

During 08.08.2018 and 14.08.2018 NSS Special Camp was held for all the students. In this special camp the volunteers from Unit 199 in Tiruvedakam, Unit No. 75 in Thachampathu, Unit No. 76 in Nedungulam, Unit No. 77 in Mullipallam, and Unit No. 78 in Thenkarai participated in various activities and their Coordinators supervised the various activities carried out by the students.

During 31.08.2018 and 09.09.2018, 22 NCC cadets participated in the Annual training camp for NCC students held in GTN Arts College, Dindigul.

Library

On 06.08.2018 49 students of library and Information Science Certificate Course along with Librarian Dr.M.Prabhakaran visited Aravind Eye Hospital Special Library and Madurai Kamaraj University Library and learned about day today activities of library, services offered and usage of computers in maintaining the library.

Physical Education

On 20.08.2018 and 26.08.2018 B.Vikram (II History) played in the “F” Zone under 19 Cricket Tournament organized by the Tamilnadu Cricket Association representing Theni team held at District Cricket Club, Theni and secured man of the match against Virudhunagar team.
