GCSX-N3 Interconnect Project

• Government Connect now leading a joint project with DH and NHS delivering secure bi-directional connectivity between GCSX and N3 (GCSX/N3 Gateway)

Benefits

• Cost effective N3 connectivity using existing infrastructure

• Improved business cooperation between local authorities and NHS Trusts

Costs

• Establishment of service and running costs to 31 March 2011 funded by Government Connect

• Costs thereafter will be published later this year

• Indicative costs represent good value compared to separate N3 connectivity

• Aim is to ensure costs to users reflect cost to provide the service and user costs to decrease as number of service users goes up
