Post-it Note

On your folder is a star-shaped post-it note. Please write a short message to your child that we will read to them on the first day of school (Wednesday). This often helps the kids feel special and enjoy hearing the little

note from you. You can place it on their nametags on the desk.

Thanks!!

We use an approach called KidWriting that focuses on invented or phonetic spelling. ◦ This lets the students be successful in writing without

constantly worrying about how to spell a word. It also reinforces the alphabetic principle and lets students work at their level.

During this time we use shared writing to model the process of writing both stories and informational pieces.

*If you brought your child’s writing binder with you please leave it on your child’s seat when you leave. Thanks!
