1. Event Details The 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Championships will be held at the Melbourne Sports Centres - MSAC from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 October 2019. This event will be conducted under the Swimming Australia Rules and By-Laws for the conduct of

Australian swimming events. Stakeholders must also adhere to Swimming Australia’s Code of Conduct and Safe Sport Framework which can be viewed here. This is an Australian Championships; therefore, medals will be awarded to place getters in all events.

Please note that there will not be any B finals. This event is not a selection meet so two visitors can progress to finals.

6. Team Leaders Meeting

There will be no team leaders meeting at this event. Further event information will be provided within the Team Leaders notes on the event web page on Monday 21 October 2019.

7. Entry Procedures

Entries open Monday 9 September. Entries close Wednesday 9 October at 11.59pm. Click here to enter now Please note that Swimming Australia has a strict ‘no late entries’ policy.

8. Accreditation Accreditation can be collected from the accreditation booth at the event entry. Accreditation passes must be visible at all times and are strictly non-transferable. Click here to apply for accreditation and for further accreditation information

Please note athletes automatically receive accreditation and do not need to apply separately.

10. Training Procedures

A dry land warm-up area will be provided above the indoor grandstand. The Foyer overlooking the competition pool is not available for athlete use.

Lane 1 MC athletes

Lanes 2 and 8 Pace swimming (no diving)

Lane 3 – 7 Circle swimming (no diving)

11. Seating

A Coaches viewing area will be available overlooking the start/finish line on the opposite side of the pool to the AOE room. Athlete and public seating is available in the grandstand.

12. Livestreaming, Photography & Videography

This event will be livestreamed through the iSwim app, Swimming Australia website and 7Plus. Photos and videos will be taken throughout the competition. If you have any concerns, please approach a Swimming Australia staff member.

14. Medical Swimming Australia will have an Event Medical Officer on-site, they’ll be located either on pool deck or in the first aid room. Click here to find local medical centres.

15. arena Merchandise An arena pop up retail marquee will be open during athlete pre-meet and competition times for racing items and accessories. Event merchandise and a new supporter range will also be on sale. Kurt Herzog, arena ambassador, will be on-site for fittings and advice.

16. ASADA ASADA has been notified of the event and may conduct random testing. To be adequately informed on testing procedures, please read the guidelines here. Swimming Australia strongly encourages all athletes, coaches and support personnel to maintain ample knowledge about your rights and responsibilities in relation to testing.
