What is Global Warming?
3 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
Global warming may be caused by excess
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere.
4 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
CO2 comes from burning fossil fuels. Fossil
fuels are coal, oil, and gasoline.
5 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
The exhaust that comes from cars and
factories is CO2 and it clogs up the
atmosphere.
6 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
When the atmosphere is clogged the sun’s heat that comes in can’t get out.
7 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
This will start heating us up.
8 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
How can we help?
9 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
We can plant more trees. Trees breathe in
CO2 and breathe out oxygen (O).
10 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
Recycling will cut down on electricity used in making new things instead of reusing old things.
11 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
Turning off a light when you’re done in a room or taking a shorter shower will save electricity, to help the environment.
12 [DocID]Hewitt Associates
Walk or ride your bike to a friend’s house or the park instead of driving. By doing that we decrease the amount of air pollution.
