• First degree awarding college established in 1979, affiliated to Delhi University
• RNRRC in 1981
• National Statistical Bureau became autonomous in 2003
• In the same year, the Royal University of Bhutan, the only university in the country was established.

FUTURE STEP
• We will, after this training gain insight into what goes into Science & Technology and Innovation statistics and then try to come up with relevant statistics.
• However, UNESCO should play lead role in this matter through capacity building in this area in the short and medium-term.
